I don't really enjoy the gameplay but there's nothing wrong with the game, could use Game Center but it doesn't look like the game is updated anymore so I won't hold my breathe or keep the game on my iDevice.

This is a great piece of software. It's well designed and executed, looks lovely and sounds fantastic. The gameplay mechanic, however? It may not be for everyone. In fact, I'll go so far as to say you're either gonna love it or hate it. I just wish there was an option to reverse the controls. But don't be fooled: this is a quality game. It's just very demanding of how you play it.

Buttery control, fantastic use of accelerometer, beautiful and distictive graphics, neo-classic design, quality sound and music---all are here in one must-have shooter. Even your life bar is shown as your planet population, adding weight to a simple concept.
  After just discovering Kooistra, I bought all three of his amazing titles. All are top-drawer. I hope indie development like this continues. Great job, John. I'm an instant fan.

Great execution. It takes a little getting used to the controls, needs some sound effects if not music and could do with an option to turn off vibrate. Otherwise the GeoWars aesthetic mixed with the relentless action is more than any shooter could hope for at this price

I like the old school games, and this is easy and fun to play.  One addition I would like to see is the ability to toggle the tilt - intuitive for me to tilt clock-wise to shoot to the left instead of right.  Seems a pretty simple addition.  Thanks!

I used to play this game all the time in 2010. A dated game, but a solid one nonetheless. This update is filled with sloppy optimizations, including, but not limited to improper formatting for iPhone 5 in many levels and multiple HUDs after levels requiring reorientation of the screen. Needs fixing

This game seems to have been forgotten, there is a need for more variety in terms of enemies and power-ups.
Supspect all the effort has moved over to blue attack by the same publisher.
Tilt controls are not fast enought for later levels maybe a touch option would be nice.

Note to the developer: thanks for nothing. You corrected almost all of the issues mentioned in many of the critical reviews, then completely screwed up with the new levels, which make the game almost unplayable. I was routinely getting past level 50 in the old version, but the new levels are ridiculously unbalanced and spell a quick end to the game. It also appears that the addition of sound has had a very detrimental affect on the frame rate, which stutters much more than it used to. Frankly, I wish I could go back to the old version.

Am I the only one who finds these accelerometer-only games annoying? Some of us ride the train to work, and sitting elbow to elbow with a bunch of strangers makes it kind of difficult to be rotating the iPhone around endlessly. The solution is simple: touch controls. PLEASE.

(I will gladly update my review/rating if the dev implements some sort of control system that allows me to play in public without having to make an *** out of myself)

I’ve had this game since my first iPhone 3G in 2010 and it’s always been one of my favorites. However, I haven’t been able to play this game in several years because of incompatibility with modern iOS. Suddenly, and update comes from the developer several days ago, in 2019, claiming to bring compatibility to the game with modern phones, however the game still does not launch. I thought the developer had stopped working on the game, however that doesn’t seem to be the case, although, whatever compatibility tweaks were incorporated in the latest update were not implemented correctly.

This game was my favorite back when I got my first iPod touch many years ago. It warms my heart to see it’s still around and still works on my new phone.

I love this game. I’ve been playing since the original release. I had the iPhone 3G at that time (2008).  I now have the iPhone XS Max in 2019. There was an app update on 3/22/19 and it kept crashing. I deleted it and re-downloaded the app. It works great again.

An amazing update! Great to see this. Still a most excellent smoothly animated shooty, maybe the ultimate arcade shmup on the iPhone. Worth buying an iPhone just to play this.

Not much to be said that hasn't already been said. An excellent game, great arcade fun. Smooth and beautiful graphics. I can't stop playing it and it is the only game that I have had installed since I got my iPod touch. A fantastic deal for 99 cents. Can't wait to play it some more, only stopped playing because I wanted to spread the fun that is blue defense.

This game fantastic! The style and music go together perfectly. The only thing I dislike are the menus. For such a stylish game it has a simple and bland layout.
