After thinking about it though, I realized that after a while you have to face like a 100 enemies just to beat one level. It takes like an hour to beat ONE level. It's kinda annoying,but overall it's pretty good,if you have time to play it. ### 4/5 — Awesome *2008-12-31, version 0* This game is awesome! It's great for when your board in the car. But it does get boring after about level 15 when you get about 160 people to destroy. However I'd like to see more options. Such as more helicopters and planes to choose from with advantage and disadvantage and the same with weapons. Also there should be different objectives rather than blowing up stuff like Someone else said. One other thing, what's the point of having different level missles and bombs. There practically do the same amount of damage!?!? What's up with that. They should have different amount of effect on the enemy. Otherwise I play this game everyday and it is extremely fun and worth the money. SO BUY IT!!!!!¡¡¿¿???¡!!¿¿¿?? ### 4/5 — Decent Top Down Fighter. *2008-12-08, version 0* First off, I have to comment on the fact that I enjoy the music to the gameplay. Good job. Secondly, I enjoy the gameplay itself. The only work I see that this game needs is the upgrades. Gives the players more variety and name the weapons. All in all, this is a golden buy for $0.99. There's room left for debate, however. As to other reviewers, keep an open mind. Reviewers are allowed rights to type whatever they feel the game deserves, whether it be a Good review or a Bad one. In general all the games I purchased (too many list), seem not to be able to to work for me on the iPhone, I prefer to stay on my PSP, yet this game does a good job of not getting in its own way on the iPhone platform. ### 5/5 — Excellent Game!! *2008-11-22, version 0* I love this game. It has excellent game play value. I tried the FREE lite version first to convince me that this game is a must have. Very intricate game with different weapons, etc. A definint keeper on my Touch. Try the lite version first if wary of spending a measly .99 cents for this 5 star game. (or if your hard up then just look under the couch cushions or car floor for change). ### 4/5 — Fabulous...but...well...still fabulous. *2008-11-19, version 0* Try it with head phones. Theater quality sound. Arcade level still has problems getting from one level to the other. Actually have to exit game and re-enter. No targets going from level to level in arcade mode. Hopefully this will be corrected soon. Getting a response from support seems like it ought to be easier. Otherwise it is a great game. Fast. Entertaining. Keeps your attention and has become increasingly difficult to stay in the sky on difficult level. It will be world class when everything gets worked out. If anyone else is having same experience please post something. Spend your money. Buy three. Sweet story mode, and the random arcade mode are enough to keep me entertained for a while. Developer seems to care about feedback and delivering updates. I highly recommend this game. ### 4/5 — 3.0 upgrade *2008-11-11, version 0* First of all I love this game and I don't normally play video games. But this last upgrade kind of upset me. Before the upgrade you could exit the APP and it would save the progress you had made in that chapter. Now each time you exit you have to start all over from the begining of the chapter. Please fix that. Also I haven't noticed a difference in the power or distance of the bombs at the different levels. I have stopped playing it as much since the upgrade, due to I know I will need quite a bit of time to clear the chapter I'm in. other then that I would recamend this game to any one. There's just more of the same...(sort of like what will happen if McCain wins the election). Also, the enemy helecopters seem to have just one porpose: run into you. It's sort of anoying! I'm currently on level 28. It needs to start the game with you preference of weapon loaded, instead of always starting at level 0 weapon. At least start it with the most powerful weapon that has been purchased. Also, rewards for killing the enemy should include more ammo. Great game!!!!! ### 2/5 — The game is just more of the same.. I also want to know why quite a few of the 5 star reviews all sound the same. I wish Apple would put better controls on folks like this. BTW this is the first 2 star I have given anyone. ### 2/5 — It was great, then it crashed, over and over and over.... *2008-10-23, version 0* This was a great game for the first few levels now it won't even open, it crashes over and over and over again and won't even load to the main menu. Do not buy this until after an update has been released after Oct. 23rd. After they fix the crashing problem, I would strongly reccomend this game. ### 3/5 — Control *2013-01-08, version 4.4* Supposed to be able to calibrate accelerometer, but still can't play in heads up orientation. ### 3/5 — One of the better games for the iPhone *2009-10-17, version 0* Until Blue Skies, I thought games using the accelerometers for control pretty much stank (pretty much every driving game), but the control is intuitive here. At least one big bug jumps your player to a different area in the map which is annoying. Overall I think there are some rough edges, but overall Blue Skies is a worthwhile addition to your iPhone catalog. ### 3/5 — What about 3gs owners that purchased oringinal game? *2009-09-13, version 0* Is there anyway people that bought the app for full price a few months ago can get the updated 3GS version for free?(even of it's through the old app) It's kind of ridiculous to pay for the same app twice even if it's half price now. One thing, though: even with the volume on sound and music turned all the way down and the iPhone's vibrate switch turned to vibrate, you can still hear the sound effects!! Please just have an off switch for the sound. Thanks for what looks to be a fun program. ### 3/5 — Great fun, if a little repetitive *2008-10-01, version 0* If you were a big fan of games like Desert Strike and Jungle Strike, you'll probably get a lot of enjoyment out of this game. The gameplay can get a little repetitive (every level's goal is just to destroy all the enemies) but enemies do get harder and more diverse as time goes on. Now works with iOS 16.1 *2022-10-31, version 5.0* I’m glad this game is back but there are two minor issues: 1) the helicopter has a slight tendency to drift to the right. 2) when I try to mirror the screen to my PC this app forces the position to be vertical while the game is in landscape . I don’t understand why. Any other app that supports screen orientation change does it on the iPad and iPhone w/o issue. I miss this game. Update: App still works with iOS 10 on iPhone 7 but it keeps telling me that it needs to be updated. I'm afraid that if I update to the next version it won't work anymore. Where are you guys? I have a paid version after all. I've had a lot of fun and back and neck aches playing this game, but it's in need of updates. I've played this app to it's last level on the iPad retina, unfortunately you cannot calibrate it because when you tap on the option it crashes. Guys! Please make an iPad version! If you want to upgrade your weapons land in the middle of a mission and you can purchase your upgrades. The tilt control is like being in a real helicoptor and the firing controls are right where your thumbs would naturally be. Graphics & sound effects are great. I can't put the game down until my hands cramp up. As with most apps though, it could use a little improvement. It needs to be more challenging. After half way through the levels it becomes same o same o. Each new level there are more bad guys to kill but they aren't any more difficult to kill. I've upgraded all weapons and bought a few extra helicoptors so there's no way I can lose a level. I've only got a couple levels to go so maybe there will be a surprise at the end. Overall, I love this game and it was worth the $3. This game is great therapy if you need a distraction from life's problems. ### 5/5 — Very well done *2009-05-31, version 0* This is a great, polished game that appeals to both casual and hard core shooter fans. First, the controls are extremely simple and intuitive, one of the best uses of the acceleramoter without really making you think about it. The earlier levels are very good for more casual players while the later levels get very hectic and test dexterity but are never impossible. I like the balance in this game after the first half-dozen levels or so. It can feel repetitive over time and it can seem like a level just takes too long like instead of ratcheting up the difficulty the developer just decided to make levels longer to make the player tired. There could be a bit of improvement there going forward. I also think there's room for some specialized missions like protecting friendlies, etc. I also agree with others that there could be another couple of maps to change up scenery. Anwyway, great graphics, sound and especially music and considering how many more highly-touted games in or near the genre I've tried and found greatly disappointing, this one is a winner and the price reflects that. Go check out the website first so that you can get an idea of what to expect. Yeah, the graphics are a bit cheesy (a 90's word to descibe 90's graphics), but gameplay and overall experience has been enjoyable. It has LOTS OF LEVELS, which is good for hours of playing, EASY TO CONTROL, & EXCELLENT GRAPHICS. Better than more expensive apps. BEST APP FOR ANY PRICE. In fact, they could raise the price because 1$ IS A STEAL. I would like to see an update though on a few things. 1) Please make there be more weapons. Also, could you give some info on each individual weapon (how much damage it does, how many you can fire before running out & show a diagram of the helicopter & where the missiles will fire, like front, back or side.) I would like a missile that cost 30,000 or 35,000, which fires every 25- 35 degrees, preferably with more lazers in the front 180 degrees than the back. 2) Add a health bar over each enemy so I can see the damage my weapons do. Full health is green, while health I have taken away is red. It is a great game with great controls, and at $1, definitely get this game. Secondly, the game could use some improvement. I think it would be cool if you could choose between a helicopter or a plane, with each having different advantages and disadvantages. That would be cool. Also there should be a pause screen where you can adjust settings or return to the main menu. Also, my brothers kept bugging me to see if they could play but I told tham that they could play once I beat it. I think that it should have three or five files.
