Do I want to make an account so I can see what my air purifier is doing? NOPE. I don’t even see a better PM2.5 reading through the app? I would need a better reason to have another service monitoring my life. ### 3/5 — App is still unstable *2026-07-31, version 4.9.1* After nearly 5 years of my Classic 500 series air purifier connected to the App, it suddenly disappeared from my device list after just controlling the device with the App. I changed the fan setting, closed the app, and when I opened it again to change the setting again, the device was no longer there. I have tried to add it back several times but there is a a network error preventing me from completing the task. Again, I have had several blueair devices for years and have consistently had problems with the App. Disappointing. ### 2/5 — Glitchy *2026-07-24, version 4.9.1* Lots of bugs lately. I change the fan setting in my son’s room and then navigate back to the main screen, and my settings didn’t save. I can no longer see large regional or global air quality. You used to be able to zoom out and see everything, which was great. My local device data is now unreadable. It’s useless basically. I’m not sure what’s happening. If the company is spiraling. It’s really frustrating to buy premium to get “smart” products that don’t really work or do anything better than taping a merv filter to a box fan. Which, is probably what I will do next time instead of buying a $300 dumb air filter from Blueair. I’m not even going to get into my previous issues I had with my filter subscription with them. This is where tech and the road meet; it’s usually not helpful in the end. Go buy a cheaper filter somewhere else. Open my app for blue air and my units aren’t there and have to re-add them. I have one in my room, one in each of my kids room and one on my main level. The air purifier works great, but I wish the app had the option to reset the filter instead of having to press and hold a button that doesn’t work half the time. I cannot turn the light off. Customer service has not been helpful. App doesn’t even respond when switched to monthly graph. All features used to work when purchased but now they don’t care. Air qualities just constantly say reading, no matter what you do seems to be a new permanent feature of uselessness. Don’t believe me? Read their “privacy policy.” Link at the bottom of this page. After what we pay for these products, we should be able to have a remote, without “becoming the product.” ### 1/5 — Connectivity issues *2026-06-07, version 4.8.0* The app just keeps getting worse. It doesn’t track the air quality properly. It also keeps telling me my device is offline. The only thing is to delete the device and add it again. Which then gets rid of everything including how long the filters have been used for. I’m only using this app because I still use their air purifier. I’m seriously thinking of getting another from a better brand. ### 1/5 — So slow *2026-06-03, version 4.8.0* When I started using the app two years ago, I was hoping that Blueair would fix at least the most annoying bugs. But for me the app is still as slow and unusable. Edit: It‘s been almost four years now and they still haven’t managed to make basic functionality work and fix major bugs, like missing chart data. Also filter quality has gotten so much worse. During the recent Canadian fires (hundreds of miles away), the outside air quality was poor, and our unit often picked up moderately poor, interior air quality and eliminated it. I couldn’t get any live or historical air quality readings. I finally tried deleting the app and reinstalling it. That fixed everything. Works great now. It tells you on their app when that is necessary to do and provides a video on how to change it.
