### 1.10 — 2026-08-06

New Features

- Gear Maintenance History: Equipment maintenance tracking has been redesigned. Log individual service records for each gear item, each with a date, description, and optional cost, instead of a single free-text note. Add, edit, and delete records, track total maintenance cost, and optionally schedule your next service reminder. Legacy notes are preserved with a Legacy Note badge and can be converted to dated records. Records are fully exported and re-imported in BlueDive XML format.
- Edit Dive Date and Time: Edit the date and time of any dive from the Overview edit sheet. Hours and minutes are adjustable while your dive computer's original seconds are preserved automatically. Saving a time change automatically recalculates surface intervals for all dives by the same diver.
- Gear Brand Logos: Your equipment list now shows logos for over 60 dive brands. Logos appear in the gear list, gear detail view, and add/edit screens, and update in real time as you type the manufacturer name. When no logo is available, the category icon is shown in a matching rounded tile.
- Photos - Import from Files: Add photos to a dive from any location, not just Apple Photos. Tap the + button in the Photos section and choose Apple Photos or Import from Files to pick images from iCloud Drive or any connected storage.
- iCloud Sync Status: A cloud icon now appears permanently in the toolbar, giving you a live view of your iCloud sync state at a glance. Tap it to see detailed upload, download, and account status, and to export a diagnostic log if you need to troubleshoot a sync issue.
- Profile - Dive Goals: Goals now adapt to your experience level, showing 4 targets just ahead of where you are instead of fixed milestones like "100 dives" or "500 dives," whether you have 3 dives or 300. Goal cards show how many dives, species, or countries you still need for the next target, coloured red-to-green as you get closer. Added goals for 30 countries visited and 100 species logged. Up to 10 goals are now shown at once (previously 4). Thanks to oyarzun on GitHub for this contribution.

Improvements

- Manufacturer Suggestions: The manufacturer field in Add and Edit Gear now shows brand logos directly in the suggestion dropdown, with a generic icon for unrecognized brands.
- Cancel Sync: You can now close the sync screen while a download is in progress, letting you cancel a stuck or slow download. Previously the button was disabled until the transfer completed.
- Bluetooth Sync Tip: "Download All Dives" now includes a tip about overriding the sync fingerprint in Settings → Bluetooth Import → Sync Fingerprints if you only need to re-download dives from a specific point forward.
- iCloud Sync Improvements: iCloud sync now makes better use of available background time when you leave the app mid-sync, reducing the chance of a partial download on a new device. The iCloud sync sheet now shows a warning when Low Power Mode is active, which can slow down sync. Improved iCloud sync diagnostics: the app now captures more detailed error information to help identify the root cause faster.

Bug Fixes

- Dives imported with no recorded temperature now correctly show "—" instead of a placeholder value (18° or 20°), including dives synced via Bluetooth from a computer with no temperature sensor.
- Air temperature is no longer incorrectly shown as 0°C on dives synced via Bluetooth from computers without a temperature sensor.
- "Download All Dives" now reliably re-downloads the full history. Previously, if no serial number was cached yet for the device, sync could stop early at the last known dive instead of fetching everything.
- Renaming a diver on an existing dive now updates the diver filter picker immediately, without requiring an app restart.

### 1.9.2 — 2026-07-25

New Features

- Launch Animation: A new animation plays the first time you open BlueDive, and you can replay it anytime from Settings.
- Import Gear from MacDive: Import your gear list directly from a MacDive CSV export. Tap the import button in the Gear tab, choose your CSV file, select the weight unit used in your export, and BlueDive imports all your items, including manufacturer, model, category, serial number, purchase info, and service dates.
- PPO₂ Overlay: The dive profile chart now includes an optional PPO₂ (partial pressure of oxygen) overlay, toggled with the PPO₂ button above the chart. Values come from your dive computer's O₂ sensors when available, or are computed from gas mix and depth otherwise. Colour coding highlights hypoxic, safe, caution, and high ranges, and the chart tooltip shows PPO₂ at the hovered point.

Improvements

- Visual Polish: Minor UI refinements throughout the app.
- Seawater Pressure Accuracy: Seawater pressure calculations now use 1030 kg/m³ density, matching Subsurface and most dive tables. This slightly increases computed PPO₂ for saltwater dives, by less than 0.01 bar at 40 m.

Bug Fixes

- Fixed a crash that occurred when opening the Statistics screen with no dives logged. The screen now shows a "No Dives Recorded" message instead of crashing.
- Fixed French-language display issues: depth and volume units now correctly show pi and pi³ instead of ft and ft³ throughout the app, and month and weekday names in the Calendar view are now properly capitalized.
- Fixed an issue where gear imported from MacDive could be incorrectly merged with gear from a BlueDive XML that had a diver name assigned. Both are now kept as separate records, preserving diver attribution.
- Fixed UDDF import and export of PPO₂ values, which were read and written in bar instead of Pascals as required by the UDDF 3.2.1 spec.
- MacDive water type labels ("Fresh", "Salt", "Brackish") are now normalized to BlueDive's canonical values on import.
- Fixed an issue where gear purchase and service dates imported from a MacDive CSV export could appear one day off depending on the device's timezone.

### 1.9 — 2026-07-09

New Features

- Water Type: Editing a dive's water type now uses a dropdown with standard options — Freshwater, Saltwater, and Brackish (EN13319) — instead of a free-text field. When the app language is set to French, the water type appears translated in the dive detail view and on PDF exports. Dives with a previously typed water type keep their original value and display as-is until you pick a new option from the dropdown.
- Dive Computer Icons: The Bluetooth scanner now shows real brand logos and product photos instead of generic symbols, covering 18 brands and many individual models. Before pairing, the brand logo is shown from the Bluetooth advertisement name; once paired, the exact model image is used. More product images are coming, with brand logos as a fallback until then.
- Gear Field Suggestions: When adding or editing gear, the Manufacturer, Model, and Purchased From fields now suggest values from your existing equipment as you type.
- Regional Number Formatting: Numeric values throughout the app — depths, temperatures, pressures, weights, volumes, ratings, gas percentages, and more — now display using your device's regional number format. For example, a region that uses a comma as the decimal separator will now see values like 18,5 m and 200,5 bar across the dive list, dive details, statistics, gear, tank templates, calculators, the dive profile chart, and exported PDF logbooks. Values continue to be stored internally with a period for data integrity and compatibility with imports and exports.
- Shearwater Perdix 3 Support: You can now wirelessly sync your dives from the Shearwater Perdix 3. Connect via Bluetooth, tap Import, and your dives transfer automatically, just like every other supported Shearwater device.
- Smarter Notifications: Tapping a gear maintenance or certification expiration notification now opens the item directly, with no extra navigation required. Tap the notification, or its Open or Renew action, to go straight to the service view or certification editor.
- Bluetooth Re-Pairing: BlueDive now recognizes your dive computers after a phone upgrade, reinstall, or factory reset, with no manual setup required. When scanning for devices, BlueDive checks whether it has synced with that computer before and asks you to confirm the re-pairing, with a picker if multiple computers of the same model are found. Once confirmed, your full sync history, dives, and notes are preserved exactly as before.
- Recalculate Surface Intervals: A new action in Settings > Data recalculates the surface interval for all dives. Intervals are calculated per diver, so dives from different divers in the same logbook no longer affect each other, and the repetitive dive flag updates automatically. Dives without a diver name are unaffected.

Improvements

- Improved Service Flow: Mark as Serviced now opens a date picker directly. Choose the service date and optionally schedule the next service date in one step.

Bug Fixes

- Fixed an issue where, after reinstalling the app, syncing a known dive computer could associate the wrong device serial number when two computers of the same model were nearby. Device identity is now confirmed only after a successful download before being saved.
- Fixed an issue where, when importing a dive via Bluetooth, only the last required decompression stop was captured. All required stops are now captured and displayed.
- Fixed an issue where dives from Shearwater computers using the EN13319 (1020 kg/m³) density standard incorrectly showed as Saltwater instead of Brackish water (EN13319).
- Decompression stop markers on the dive profile chart now appear as plain orange diamonds, no longer overlapping the depth or duration labels.
- Fixed a crash that could occur when re-connecting to a dive computer after removing its Bluetooth pairing from iOS or macOS Settings and pairing again. The app would sometimes crash on the first attempt but succeed on retry — this is now resolved.
