The whole point of **Blue Ghost** is the lights, yet **they don’t even work**. Tried everything—reinstalling, resetting, even sacrificing my sanity—but nothing. If I wanted to stare at darkness, I’d just turn off my own lights and save the hassle. Absolute garbage. Fix your app. ### 3/5 — 50/50 *2025-01-11, version 1.8.15* The controller is pretty good. Screw terminals are microscopic. App is pretty awesome. I would prefer some show modes being added through an update. Only passager side works. ### 3/5 — Need an app refresh *2021-06-09, version 1.6* The app is great when it works but key features missing IMO would be the ability to have preset led layouts instead of having to remap my LED sections for each new idea or look I want to program. Still some bugs to work out as well. After a few months of use the app randomly deleted my show modes so I was forced to start building my modes from scratch with the same painstaking process of mapping out my lights. I suppose it’s easier for those that only have a couple strips. But will there be a way to set a starting point for some show modes? The ability for updates to add new features makes me excited. The lights are cool, just wish the app worked as well ### 4/5 — Amazing hardware, app needs work *2020-03-12* I’ve been using this app for a week now, I cannot praise the hardware it controls enough. Best led controller I’ve ever seen! The app functions are incredibly useful too, my only gripe is with the user interface experience. It doesn’t have the polish or flow of most modern consumer apps, and things like slider bars and number fields with +/- buttons aren’t the easiest to press. The author has issues themselves in some of the tutorial videos which is comforting as it means it isn’t just me, and while these little niggles can be annoying when first configuring your device the application is entirely useable and once you get your head around what does what, the results are delightful. Some suggestions for future improvement: - Allow number box for neopixel config to be editable using device keyboard as well as +/- buttons - Allow option of auto saving of configuration as you go as an option - Allow various show modes to be triggered from the 12v inputs for indicator/parking/brake as well as the inbuilt colours/modes - Clean up the controller connection process and allow quicker switching between multiple controllers or better yet multiple connections at once - Allow each controller to be given a “friendly name” (eg “Underglow”, “Headlights”) - Allow each bank of neopixels to be given a “friendly name” (eg “outer halos, inner halos”) - Make the directional switch of the neopixel bank an easier control to toggle rather than a scrolling bar (a single button which alternates between ➡️ and ⬅️ for example) ### 2/5 — Great app, crashes VERY often. *2020-01-28, version 1.5.1* My professional installers did a clean job with my underglow kit. App closes at least 70% of the time. Did the update and it disconnected me. Now it won’t stay connected long enough to even update. It takes years for the bar at the bottom to load and when I waited 30 mins for it to reach 25% it disconnected and said it’s not found. The app force closes more than it opens. I’ve been able to go in and edit my vehicle settings twice since receiving my controller. Easy to use simple enough to navigate,I guess it could use an update with new features but if not I wouldn’t be upset but are forward to new innovations with the platform.I don’t understand the 3 stars but to each its own. Works for me. My biggest tip is to wire thru a relay or switch. Having the ability to quickly cut the power will aid in connection and setup. THANK YOU for giving us the ability to expand our system by controlling multiple units. Please keep up the updates BG team! -A ### 5/5 — Fantastic but feels lacking in some areas *2020-07-14, version 1.6* The blueghozt module is easy to use and so is this app! Although it has some advance features that work really well I can’t help but feel like some of the simpler things were overlooked; such as a show mode effect might happen too quickly. An example would be the dazzle showmode, I think the addition of an extra slider for how long the “dazzle” effect happens as well as a wider range in the frequency (even at 0% it still feels very frequent) would be a welcome addition. I feel like most show modes are missing that little bit of extra adjustability due to only having two sliders. Another example would be with the effect hyperspectral; on other modes you can change the “block size” but for hyperspectral you get colour shift and movement. Adding a third slider for the “block size” on top of the colour shift and movement could really help with customization. Despite my complaints I still love what the app and module can do! Looking forward to updates and doing more projects with ghozt lighting. ### 5/5 — 6 stars ... no wait 7 stars *2019-09-14, version 1.5.1* The app is awesome. The BG module is awesome. The 1.7 update fixes a lot of bugs and it pairs better now. Show modes are great and I love how easy, intuitive and powerful (features) it is.. Ignore the previous review where he bashes the module which is clearly a problem he created. If you get a ticket for something that doesn’t work... don’t just gloss over the fact that YOU modified your vehicle and should have bench tested this device before installing. ### 5/5 — Most advanced Bluetooth controller out there *2018-04-11, version 1.2* The adjustments added in this version were great! They already released the info on the next update and I can say they really put their time into making the best toy for enthusiasts ### 4/5 — Best Automotive Addressable LED Controller *2023-10-13, version 1.8.15* Positives: This app works with addressable LEDs (must be same type rgb/rgbw and rgb pattern for both channels). This controller has 2 channels to separate left and right turn signals/DRL animation. You can save unlimited amount of presets as well as put up to 7 presets in sequence order. This app can let you use up to 6 colors per pattern (more than any other app out there besides WLED) You can run 5V or 12V through this controller (buck converter needed for 5V) You can sync multiple Ghozt controllers to get all your lights running the same modes. Rename the controllers so you can easily find it as well as auto connect Controller has DRL, turn signals, brake, reverse and a new/not finished input that will trigger effects. Negatives: Need more show modes Need to fix the pairing timeout issue (app glitched when trying to pair and accidentally Home Screen out) the app will stop responding to the Ghozt controller until you restart your phone Need more turn signal and drl animations Have the option to run separate modes on either channel. Issue with the app not responding correctly when trying to change colors The advanced function to separate LEDs on each channel does not let your overlap or create a segment. IE: set 1-5 Leds to turn signal, 6-10 for brake signal, 11-15 for reverse signal. Please add this option for those who run a single strip in tail lights Gear icon input signal just freezes a show mode when triggered, doesn’t do anything else worthwhile ### 4/5 — Was working fine *2023-09-24* Entire set up was working fine for about 2 weeks and then started to have connection issues via Bluetooth. It’s literally now showing the module on the app at all. It takes hours (usually let the car sleep) before I try again and it randomly shows up. Works great for a few hours or the drive to work. I cut the car on during work and once again module doesn’t show up and stays like that for hours. I’ve already did the whole Bluetooth thing, deleted and reinstalled the app etc. still no justice.
