### 4/5 — View on phone is limited

*2022-01-27, version 47.1*

Could be I just have not found the way yet,but from my iPhone I don’t appear to have a way to full screen a participant of a meeting

### 4/5 — Voice isolation feature not working in iPadOS 15

*2022-01-13, version 47.1*

Voice isolation not working in iPadOS 15 which is very useful option while voice or video conferencing. Although this feature works well in iOS 15. Plz update this feature in iPad OS 15.

### 5/5 — Blue Jeans & the Bird!

*2021-05-27, version 44.1*

Great app! This was my first time using it. Had no problems. Very easy to connect. No problems at all. The appt took me to the app to load prior. I did the test up front prior to my call to make sure the app would function properly. Love the Bird!

### 5/5 — Meeting with my doctor

*2021-04-15, version 43.0*

So easy to use, but screen where you wait for your doc, (where your face is while you wait for your doc), is a little confusing. There’s a link there and it says “share info”, it seems like you have to click that link and click “share info”, but you don’t.

### 5/5 — Hospital Visit

*2021-03-29, version 43.0*

Thank you for giving us a way to see and talk to our critically ill father/grandfather during such a difficult time. It has given us comfort as a family.

### 5/5 — Saving Grace

*2021-03-23, version 43.0*

I’m not one to speak highly of electronics and it’s always better when you can see someone in person but I actually use this application to have a visit with my primary care physician. Upon not feeling well it saved me from having to drive my vehicle and also save me gas money so I am very pleased with how clear and how well the audio was.

### 5/5 — Has really improved over the years

*2021-03-01, version 42.2*

A good conferencing app should have a joyous UX with uncluttered controls and intuitive features. I hadn’t used BlueJeans for years and was pleasantly surprised at how far it has come. I think this could be a contender again. I especially like the “low-bandwidth mode” relevant for most users.

### 3/5 — Closed Captioning?

*2021-02-23, version 42.2*

The audio on the app is excellent and I no problems with connectivity or audio delay. The app gets only 3 stars because the iPad version doesn’t have closed captioning. I’m lucky enough that my hearing loss is not so profound that I couldn’t follow the meeting. However, others may not and the lack of cc is a huge oversight. If it is in the app then you need to make it easier to access. I couldn’t find it.

### 5/5 — Similar to Zoom but much easier to use

*2021-02-18, version 42.1*

This app is very simple. You can make an account or just log in. I find that very convenient when needing to log in to a meeting at the last minute.

### 5/5 — inconsistent

*2020-12-16, version 41.0*

Our institution uses it for patient visits. I’m glad it’s HIPAA compliant, but I’m afraid that after me spending a massive amount of time coaching the patients in how to use something with inconsistent audio and video and with very unintuitive on-screen help/control functions, we’ll switch to something else that works better and I’ll have to start over. I never seem to have so much echo, delayed audio or no audio with other teleconferencing apps. And if there is a problem, the patients have no idea what they need to do to fix it.

### 5/5 — App Needs Work

*2020-12-01, version 41.0*

Each time I have received a link from one of my doctors, it never connects. I do have the app on my IPhone and when I put in the meeting ID number and the Passcode number it does connect. When I am connected, communication is good.

### 3/5 — Good app when it’s working

*2020-11-10, version 40.0*

It’s a good app when it’s working. Been having a major issue with this version on iOS. Regular “Meetings” work without a problem, but the pricier “Events” freezes whenever I switch to another app or lock the screen. (Expected behavior is to have the audio on and video off) I’m sure it’ll get sorted out soon though...

Hope to see the live closed captioning feature on iOS version as well. It’s helpful from time to time.

### 5/5 — Hospitals and covid

*2020-11-05, version 40.0*

So my mom suffered a stroke and we weren’t allowed to have more then one person see her. My brother set up BlueJeans and we were all able to talk to her twice a day. Really added some well being to us as my mom struggled with recovery. It was amazing to see her open her eyes and respond to our voices. Has been a true blessing.

### 3/5 — BlueJeans meetings

*2020-10-23, version 40.0*

The meetings are great, hard to do presentations due to keep having to allow various apps to be seen. Audio terrible. Most meetings will have one person who cannot communicate. These people have to connect by phone to be heard correctly. Last meeting had 6 people. Two had to call in by phone.

### 5/5 — Job Opportunities

*2020-10-22, version 40.0*

Thankful for apps and tech like these in these challenging times... especially when it comes to assisting us in finding work. And thank you for the people that make it work.

### 5/5 — Prostate Biopsy Consult

*2020-08-31, version 38.0*

Dr. Wein answered two of my three questions before I even asked. I also appreciated with his plan of action going forward. His manner was very professional as well as personal. This was my first tele-medical visit on Blue Jeans and Dr. Wein, and it was an excellent experience.

### 5/5 — It works!

*2020-08-27, version 38.0*

Other than a few connection issues, with the image breaking up a bit, occasionally, this App satisfies the requirements for video conferencing quite well!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Since the last update I can never hear

*2022-12-02, version 53.0*

Since the last update my iPad keeps thinking that I am joining my meetings with my phone and I’m trying to do audio and everything on the iPad. It used to work perfectly fine. My iPad has the latest iPad OS software too. Please advise as it is really hard to be active in a meeting when I can’t hear.

### 1/5 — WARNING! Mic keeps recording when phone is turned off!

*2021-03-24, version 43.0*

This is a major privacy issue that needs to be changed immediately. When you click the power button on your iPhone it should close down the app, stop the mic from picking up audio and pause on turn off your connection right? WRONG!!
This app continues to pick up and share the audio from your phone after you click the power button.
This is a major privacy violation and they do not give you any clear warning about this.

### 1/5 — Why can’t you see yourself before joining call?

*2020-08-11, version 38.0*

I have very good internet and this app has worked without glitches but the iPad app seems to be lacking very basic features. Why is there not the ability to see yourself before joint a meeting so you can make sure your framing and lighting is ok? Furthermore, even after joining a meeting, the camera view of yourself is so tiny and there is no way to make it larger, so again, at least then, you can actually see yourself and adjust your framing. These obvious omissions are terrible, and they warrant me rating this app with just 1 star. On another note, before using the app, I sent an email to BlueJeans asking if this functionality existed and no one ever even bothered to answer me. What they did do, however, was almost immediately start flooding my inbox with spam! Ridiculously bad service.

### 1/5 — Not working for iOS devices

*2020-05-20, version 36.0*

This morning BJ pushed an update to iOS APP. my iPhone and iPad are new and running latest iOS as is doctors APP. there is no connectivity from doctor portal into BJ. Have cleared cache, deleted app, restated device, reloaded APP and nothing. Cannot start teleHealth from link or by typing meeting number. The BJ entry screen freezes, never connects and eventually times out. Have plenty of bandwidth. Have had no problems since March 25. In fact right after APP updated this morning can no longer do test call with Jean. Get same result. Please fix this. Doc visits require video to be effective. PS setting for set for Mic and camera to be used are on

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2019-09-09, version 32.0*

I would give it 0 stars if I had that option. My company recently started requiring this service for remote workers to check in. I’ve NEVER been able to log on. I have to do that check in TODAY and all I get is that “Safari cannot open the page because the network connection timed out” message since I downloaded it a month ago. No one has been any help. So yeah. This app and service are horrible. I wish my company had done more research before using such an unreliable method.

### 2/5 — Works fine, but lacking in many ways

*2021-02-24, version 42.2*

Video quality isn’t great compared to Zoom or chime. Whiteboard feature is rudimentary and no integration with Apple calendar. Only seems to work with outlook.

Overall I better alternatives are available, and the team seems to be slow to add features

### 2/5 — Usurps audio volume control

*2020-06-23, version 36.1*

The app functions well for video conferencing. Unbelievably, though, this app hijacks the iPhone/iPad audio volume controls and disallows muting.

Both the hardware buttons and the on-screen volume slider in control center are subjugated. The onscreen slider can even be pulled down entirely to show a “mute” symbol, yet app audio continues to play at a low and noticeable level.

It is absolutely inexcusable to defy the user by usurping such a basic device function.

### 2/5 — Frozen

*2020-06-17, version 36.1*

I used BlueJeans for months without any trouble and I was very pleased with it. However in the last two months, when I use BlueJeans on my laptop, it frequently freezes up and drops me. The only way I can connect again is through my iPhone. This is true for another meeting participant as well. We are starting to use Zoom instead

### 2/5 — Terrible since the last update

*2019-11-18, version 33.0.1*

This app used to work seamlessly. Now when i try to open up a bluejeans session directly via the app it fails. The only way to get it to work is to open the bluejeans link in safari, then direct it to start audio only via the app. From there i can switch to high bandwidth mode and see video streams. All in all a pretty terrible experience.

### 2/5 — App switches back and forth between speaker phone and earphone

*2019-06-26, version 30.0.1*

The app switches back and forth between speaker phone and earphone after I enable speaker as the output device.

This may be an actual iOS issue as I see this behavior with Apple TV and some messenger apps.

The bluejeans apps seems particularly susceptible if it’s and IOS problem and should be escalated as it essentially renders the app useless.

The automatic switching of output devices happens when you tilt the phone vertical. It will sometimes stay on speaker phone if you leave the phone flat horizontally on a desk for example. Once you pick up the phone the output is for switched back to your ear.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Amazing connection

*2024-01-02*

So it’s not Teams so there are some things that it can’t do but other Blue Jeans is a safe and effective way to communicate with patients and clients without breaking and privacy laws. The video quality is spot on and links to meetings open up without issues to passwords. I’m surprised to have not heard about this before I highly recommend to all healthcare platforms

### 5/5 — Saves me a very long drive

*2023-10-19*

I love this because, we see each other face to face and I don’t have to drive up to 2 hours to do it. I live a long way from Dallas and traffic in the morning is awful, no traffic for this appointment. Thanks for making this available

### 5/5 — Blue Jeans

*2023-09-28*

Quality, sound and video unless original background is changed…it messes up communication for me, the patient, as a big distraction while doing a TeleHealth visit. If normal background, it’s a close to perfect as a person could ask for. Good way to communicate a patients health needs.

### 5/5 — Krobea Asante T.

*2023-04-25*

Zoom works well for simple meetings and webinars but I prefer the features that BlueJeans offers for a more robust and connected community i... BlueJeans, a good choice. BlueJeans has better troubleshooting of attendees over Zoom. BlueJeans scheduling interface is more intuitive than Zoom.

### 5/5 — Best team in the world

*2022-05-16, version 49.1*

I cannot express enough Dr. Kharlip and her team at U of Penn Medicine. They have taken me from having a Cushings’ tumor removed, all the way to Gamma Knife surgery with the most professional and knowledgeable plans. Every step of the way was so well planned and all details were made known to me beforehand. I felt like a partner in my health plan instead of merely a patient.
I owe my present well being to this team.
Sincerely,
Richard Fredericks

### 5/5 — Blue jeans telemedicine visit

*2022-05-04, version 49.0.1*

I use telemedicine for my own employment. We have our own prescriber and we get drop calls or poor connections.

I enjoy using Blue jeans to speak with my doctor it’s clear and I can hear him and our calls are very clear.

### 5/5 — Much Better

*2022-04-27, version 49.0.1*

Glad my kids are back in school because I don’t have issues with the system since they have been gone. Love it.

### 5/5 — Thank you

*2022-03-21, version 48.0.1*

It is always uplifting to chat with Dr Burns and the members of her staff. The video appointment puts me at ease with professionals I know and trust, with the added advantage of removing the hassle of traveling.
Thank you for the privilege of being among Dr Burns’ patients.

### 5/5 — February 23rd, 2022 class in Glassell Scool in Houston

*2022-02-23, version 48.0*

Excellent platform used for this class. After having used personally already 4 different platforms (Zoom, Chrome, Teams and BlueJeans), BlueJeans is definitely the best!!

### 5/5 — BlueJeans program

*2021-06-24, version 44.2*

Love this system! Sure beats driving all the way into Philly for my doctors appointments, and I have alot of doctors that I have to be in contact with in one way or another. This is one of the few good things that has come out of COVID, so many doctors now use this program. I hope they continue to use it…Thanks so much
