Map is very helpful. Minor complaint: time to arrival of car is often wrong, several times it took drivers considerably longer to arrive. ### 3/5 — Pre booking Vans *2025-07-08, version 4.17.0* Pre booking does not work for Vans. The app does not allow extra time to locate vans. As a result the waiting time is extensive and van is always late which defeats the point of booking ahead of time. Does not work well when booking more than one taxi. GPS is not accurate resulting in bad pick up locations. Had vans cancelled by dispatcher for unexplained reason. A few glitches and software bugs to work out. ### 2/5 — Some drivers steal your money *2025-02-06, version 4.16.0* I’ve been using this app regularly for a few months now after an injury. I’ve wanted to support taxi’s over Uber but what a shame. I’ve have three awful experiences in the two months. The worst, after paying for the trip on the app the driver did not show up but charged my credit card. Another brought me to the wrong location and said I could walk the rest of the way; after refusing to and waiting for a couple minutes he takes a long way to my destination and the trip cost about 25% more than usual. Some of the drivers are great but it is the few scammers that ruin it. I will not take Blueline taxi again. Uber it is. ### 3/5 — Rude drivers *2025-01-31* Lots of rude drivers. Never know who you’re going to get. I even had someone try to bill me more than what was metered. I want to support taxis over uber but it is hard when the drivers are angry, rude, and try to rip you off. ### 4/5 — Some glitchineas but better than having to call! *2023-11-22, version 4.9.0* A couple things that could be improved. First, for some reason, the driver never has the destination that I’ve already entered into the app when I get in the car. So it seems like a little bit of a waste of time on my part. Second, some other funny things have happened. For example, today when I was taking the taxi, some other taxi driver called me and asked me if I was available to be picked up. So somehow it seems likely the app is transferring my request to another driver, even though I was already in the car with the first driver. Seems a bit strange to me. However, the app still works quite well and I’m glad that you have it. ### 3/5 — Good app but use with caution *2023-02-20, version 4.3.0* If you are using a taxi, using the app is better than calling for a pickup and trusting that someone has been dispatched. Two warnings: (1) the app will charge 15% tip by default even if you choose not to tip and dismiss the tip pop up after the ride. Your receipt will show a $0 tip. You only see it on your credit card bill if you compare to your receipt. Response from Blueline “Please make sure to adjust the setting for the tip on the App because it will automatically charge 15%.” (2) The app provides an estimate based on a route, and the estimate seems accurate. However, taxi fare is based on length of route (unlike Uber/Lyft which are block fees). If the cab driver takes you on a milk run, you will pay more than the estimate. Look up the shortest route and direct the driver to take this route to avoid higher than estimated fare. ### 1/5 — Didn’t show up *2022-12-16, version 4.1.0* Booked a taxi a week in advance and day of, it started searching 5 minutes before pickup when all the taxis were 30+ minutes away. Automatically adds tips! *2026-02-05, version 4.17.0* Beware! If you download the app and book a ride, the app automatically adds a 15% tip with no notice and no opportunity to confirm. Also, I pre-booked an SUV and a sedan showed up. I’ve had drivers remember my school (from the last time they drove me) and drive me there saying “no, you are going to go to school” instead of driving me where I asked them. They constantly come late and say they will pick me up in 5 minutes and stay at their house for 45. I’ve missed so many important tests because of Blueline Taxi. There’ve been multiple times that the driver doesn’t know where they are going when it is right on their little screen. They make me pull up how to get there on my phone instead of just driving me there themselves (when their gps was working I checked). There’s nothing wrong with the app itself, but please don’t get this app, don’t trust your kids with these drivers, I’m terrified. I really tried with Blueline, but I can’t anymore I’m switching to Uber. Thank you, and have a good day. ### 1/5 — App doesn’t work *2024-09-23, version 4.13.0* I downloaded the app and it asked for my cell phone number and after entering it it asks to solve a captcha. After selecting the squares it just spins and spins. I deleted it and reinstalled it and had the same thing. ### 1/5 — Spins forever and does nothing *2024-04-18, version 4.11.0* The first screen asks for your cell number. I entered mine, and the spinning “loading” wheel just hung out for like 5 minutes so I closed the app, re-opened and tried again. Same thing. Twice. Deleted it. What a shame. I noticed different cities all have their own, too. Why doesn’t Blueline just make one good app for all the cities instead of Hamilton and Durham doing their own? Luckily, a cab had already been called, but this app was my go-to for transit, and now it’s useless. Uninstalling/redownloading the app also did not work. Very disappointed, given that I have a modern iPhone SE. ### 1/5 — Bait and Switch. Tip without prompting. *2023-01-24, version 4.3.0* UPDATE - 15% tip was set as default. Set it to custom before you take any ride. Cab service was good. App is deceiving on multiple fronts. Estimate - 25% higher actual fare on a perfect 3 am morning. App est $50-56 before I booked. Actual fare was more than $70 on a clear morning with no traffic all the way. Tip - Upon checking the email receipt, a 15% tip was added without my consent. Tried to give local taxi a helping hand against Uber, Blueline Taxi app managed to turn me away for good. Fool me once, shame on you. The drivers are nice and respond in a prompt manner. You can view a how far they are and when they will arrive. This part of the app I find annoying because I am trying to tip the driver for excellent service. The cab service is great.
