### 4/5 — Easy to use

*2026-04-30, version 3.2.0*

This app definitely made calculating our son’s insulin much easier! It’s very simple to use, and we’re easily able to teach other caregivers how to use. We have been using it for about the last year with little trouble. I think there was maybe 2 time where the app was not functioning, so we had to calculate the insulin by hand. Also if you choose to put in the CGM trend, it will adjust the dose for you, so be aware of that!

### 4/5 — Great App

*2019-01-22, version 2.3.46*

Had an issue with the app and they were able to fix it right away! Convenient to help figure out insulin dosing and keeping track of blood sugars.

### 3/5 — Nice but...

*2015-06-23, version 2.3.5*

To be honest no one uses this anymore and it seems ridiculous that it's $8 a month for something you will barley use during the summer if you a child and are going to school. That's a $24 waste

### 5/5 — Best thing invented since the glucose meter!

*2014-11-25, version 2.3.4*

Blue loop/mycareconnect gives parents guardians and caregivers the peace of mind when their diabetic child is not with them. We use it as a tool listed in our 504- the nurse and endo are connected right to my phone! All day I get real time data including my daughters BG numbers. First thing I say when I pick her up from school does not have to be diabetes related as I know how her numbers were already. Have some dosage tweaking to do? Just call or email the office and they have access to numbers and info entered on the computer or phone too!

### 3/5 — IOS 8 issues

*2014-10-08, version 2.3.2*

Ever since the upgrade to IOS 8 I cannot enter a time for an entry. The app completely locks up. Happens on my phone and iPad.

### 4/5 — iOS 8 issue

*2014-09-18, version 2.3.2*

After the upgrade to iOS 8, I am not able to set a time or date during an entry. The screen goes darker and becomes frozen, forcing closure of the app.

### 5/5 — Great!!

*2014-08-16, version 2.3.2*

Best app ever

### 5/5 — Great place to start your T1D journey

*2014-08-05, version 2.3.1*

A little over one year ago my 14 y/o son was diagnosed with type 1. His Doctor's office mentioned Blueloop and I jumped at the opportunity to use technology to help him manage his glucose levels and give his mother and I peace of mind. So thankful for this resource during the first few months of adjusting our lifestyles tonnage his diagnosis. Tonight I was able to meet the husband wife team that developed this website/app--super folks!!! Give this app a shot and your will be rewarded for sure!

### 5/5 — A must have!

*2013-10-12, version 2.3.1*

Love, love love this app. Being able to keep us all informed of my sons BGs no matter where we may be. This app is a must have for any parent of a child, or well anyone with Diabetes. Super simple to navigate and update.

### 4/5 — Great, but not perfect.

*2013-07-11, version 2.3.1*

Good way for parents and doctors to keep up with child's BG levels. Wish there was a way to edit entries and see doctor's communications without having to go to desktop site. Otherwise this is GREAT!

### 5/5 — I love Blue Loop!!

*2013-07-01, version 2.3.1*

Love that this app gives my family the freedom to log wherever we are instead of remembering to log it with a paper log when we get home. Love that it syncs with the website. Yes, I would also appreciate more opportunities to log events but its pretty darn good that they even have extra events outside mealtimes. I also had a lot of issues when I first downloaded it, including the "error 404" message but their customer service is phenomenal and helped me get it all put together so we could use it. Also love that BL allows me to print off a PDF (from website) to email to doctors rather than imputing numbers manually on hospital website. Thank you, thank you, thank you BL!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Slow and buggy

*2023-08-18, version 2.3.46*

Looks like it was developed in 2002 and feels as fast. In desperate need of a rewrite. I can’t even register an account.

### 1/5 — Ugly and laggy

*2020-03-06, version 2.3.46*

The layout is so ugly like omg every single log app is so cute and this one is repulsive plus it lags and freezes a lot

### 1/5 — Nice idea. Poor implementation

*2016-01-13, version 2.3.6*

It's great that someone tried to put this together but it doesn't work. You enter data and it doesn't show up in the log. Maybe the iPad works better than the iPhone?

### 1/5 — App issues

*2014-06-13, version 2.3.1*

Love the app, but as of lunch today is gives me a notice that "probable I/O race condition detected while copying memory." It won't let me exit out of this screen so that I can get into the app. Help please!

### 1/5 — Unable to access to see if app is any good!

*2014-06-09*

I have downloaded the app and set up the parent details ok, went to set up my sons details but it won't allow me to add a date of birth and because of this I am unable to proceed any further. Unfortunately I cannot tell if the app is any good as I can't get any further!!!

### 1/5 — Errors

*2012-06-30, version 2.0.0*

I keep getting a error 404.

### 2/5 — Too many crashes

*2018-07-02, version 2.3.26*

The app is adequate for sharing data, it gets errors and crashes too frequently. Need to clean up the code.

### 2/5 — Has promise but needs more polish

*2017-09-18, version 2.3.20*

We have been searching for an app to log info for our 2 year old daughter and this one looked the most straightforward. Problem is it's not worth the monthly fee for us. It often freezes and the back button does not work. Also difficult to modify an entry if we make a mistake. Oftentimes, the day or time will be wrong when I go to log a meal or snack and I won't realize it until I've put it in. It keeps sending an error message when I try to change it. As a busy parent I do not have time to log into my account on my desktop and make changes. For a monthly fee, this app should be able to do everything I need from my phone. The insulin calculator also does not do quarter units, so we rarely use it. It would also be helpful if we could log random lows or highs to put in correction doses for a high or extra carbs for a low. I do like how it appears simple and actually is when functional. All I need is to enter bg, carbs and insulin for every meal and snack plus extra notes and be able to modify because people and technology are not perfect. Please keep trying to improve this app because it could be great! Until then, we will be searching for an alternate way to log our info.

### 3/5 — Had some frustrating glitches

*2019-08-18, version 2.3.46*

This app is tremendously useful and important, but if you click submit before you click calculate you end up in a painful loop of ads and the submission page MiNUS the calculate button. Seems like it would be an easy fix. This is a problem for new users. Always have a backup calculation method.

### 3/5 — Like dr connectivity, constant errors

*2018-03-20, version 2.3.26*

I like that the endo can view numbers and let us know any adjustments to make but I’m constantly getting errors. I know it’s meant to be used online and “the app is extra” but to be used regularly it needs to be accessible easily on mobile devices. I cannot currently enter anything from the last few hours because of the errors that pop up, and this isn’t something new, the app errors out quite often.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — This app was a life saver

*2026-01-29, version 3.2.0*

With a child that was recently diagnosed we left the hospital completely overwhelmed. How would we track all of this? How would we communicate it effectively to the doctors and nurses? And the math…!! This app covers it all and then some. Easy to use and understand. It gave us the confidence we needed to know we were dosing our child correctly. This app also allowed us to get information to our medical team quickly resulting in great response times and quality adjustments to his ratios. When we are all looking for those tools that can just reduce the burden a little more, this app is a must have for your tool box. Thank you BlueLoop for all that you’ve done to make our days so much brighter!

### 5/5 — Login

*2020-12-01, version 2.3.46*

At some point recently, the app changed to where I have to enter my login and passwd everytime I open the app again... what changed and how do I fix?

### 5/5 — Best app

*2020-11-30, version 2.3.46*

Love this app. It has saved us some much

### 5/5 — UPDATE: Hands-down amazing app to track our son's Type1!

*2020-06-30, version 2.3.46*

Scroll down for my thoughts, three weeks in!....

Literally just downloaded this five minutes ago... Easy to set up. My spouse and I both tried adding meals, glucose, insulin intake... It sent each of us texts to alert the other of the entries. The formal spreadsheet looks PERFECT for presenting to our doctor for visits, and my son can also add his own numbers.

Our 10y/o was just diagnosed last week.... So this is all so new to us. I'll keep this posted, after using it for awhile. But this looks PERFECT, to keep us all in the loop of his numbers and food intake!!

UPDATE- 6/29/20:
This has been such a wonderful addition to keeping up with my kiddos numbers! Went for a follow up visit (his second since diagnosis), and the doctor asked for our records for him over the past week... And this shows everything in such a nice, way format that is quick to be able to point out highs and lows - the doc was impressed!

I also had to leave my son with a family member, as I had to travel for work this week. So, I was able to quickly and easily add them as another caregiver, show them how I add in the "notes" section the exact food he consumed... And now when she put it in, I can see everything as soon as she confirms it. Brings such peace of mind.

Only suggestion:
I love the quick edit for the "main meals and snacks"... Just wish there was a way to edit others (ie, Post- excercise, if I realized forgot to add something), after inputting. But it is a minimal issue.

Ps - We have had no issue with this crashing, as other users have stated. Sometimes it takes a second to populate, but not a big deal at all.

### 5/5 — Amazing for my T1D son

*2019-08-09, version 2.3.46*

I was having an issue logging I . I sent an email to Pam Henry(the creator of the app) She called me back in less than 30 minutes AND solves the issue for me. This app gives you overall reports that you just can’t create by handwriting your logs. It also makes communicating with your school and Dr so much easier. I am beyond impressed with this life changing app. Thank you Blue Loop for helping my son and I.

### 5/5 — So helpful

*2018-02-26, version 2.3.25*

This app is very helpful for the nurses at my child’s school and me to communicate her numbers! Any questions BlueLoop customer service is so helpful and awesome I would definitely recommend this app!!!

### 5/5 — Fantastic app!

*2017-08-13, version 2.3.12*

This is a great app to help with communication and coordination of diabetes related care for our son - caregivers, school, and doctor. Easy to use and SO helpful. We've always loved it, have used it for years, and the new insulin calculator just makes it that much better.

### 5/5 — Highly recommend

*2017-06-09, version 2.3.6*

Amazing Application!!!!

### 5/5 — Blue Loop Keeps Us in the Loop

*2015-10-29, version 2.3.6*

Blue Loop has become a part of our daily communication with our school nurse. She uses it to update me on blood sugars and the note feature allows her to offer additional details about enviromental factors that may have affected the numbers. There is also room for reminders, and anyone who deals with a diabetic child knows that we need all the help we can get. The instant communication is invaluable, and this app has become an important part of our daily lives. Thanks for a great product!

### 5/5 — Great for the School Nurse

*2015-10-29, version 2.3.6*

I love this app! I have assurance the parent is getting the daily BS, also I can add a parent note like need more glucose tabs and they get the text right away. I do hope in the future the school nurse can download the app and I can plug in BS from my IPAD or Phone. I have been using this app for 2 years, hope I never have to go back to sending notes home!
