## What is Blues Licks?

The Blues Licks app from JustinGuitar.com brings together over a year's worth of content from Justin's weekly Blues Licks series into a single, easy to use app.  Playing blues is a LOT about learning licks and how to use them, so as a blues guitarist you need to be constantly on the look out for new material.  This app contains fifty six of the finest blues licks showcasing the styles of famous blues players like B.B.King, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan and more.  

Justin breaks down each lick in detail in a high quality video describing not only how to play it but also when to use it most effectively.  Each lick video includes a performance by Justin at normal and slow speed, followed by a detailed note by note explanation of the notes and techniques used.  The final section of each video includes tips from Justin on how the licks work musically and the concepts behind them.

There is music score and TAB for each lick which follows along as the lick is performed.  An animated fretboard is also available that clearly shows fingering on a virtual fretboard in real time as Justin performs the lick on video (for both left or right handed players).  You can also loop the video playback using the app's controls to target a specific part of the lick when practicing.

This is a very good 
App if you want to learn to play some very tasty blues licks but also has links to his blues lessons on his site included,I think they may have been added to the app  as I don’t recall them back when I first bought it,this makes it even better in my opinion.

Great little app and well worth $3!  Was just expecting some blues lick vids, but I was pleasantly shocked by the extremely helpful and useful custom video interface... with the section breakdown by color, the custom loop feature, and the live fretboard view.  very impressed and appreciate it.

I like Justin’s Youtube content and have just bought the App, but find that if I select a lesson using one of the thumbnails I am directed to A Safari page of text titles rather than a video lesson from Justin which is a bit frustrating.
