### 3/5 — No longer lists all characteristics

*2026-09-02, version 1.7.8*

Used to list all of the characteristics of a device, but now it says 11 characteristics and only shows the first one.

### 3/5 — Sending writes stopped working

*2026-07-27, version 1.7.7*

I was using this to program my blinds after I connected Somfy Sonesse to Zigbee for my Home Assistant. Now when I try to write, the app just crashes.

### 3/5 — Helpful, but could use work.

*2026-06-30, version 1.7.7*

I am trying to find a lost AirTag that i lost two years ago. Apples find my app won’t cut it so I spent 4 dollars for the pro version of this. Just saying it isn’t worth it, but it could be if you add these things: a bar that fills up from left to right to show signal strength, this way you could check how close you are and it’s easy to understand. Also add a distance meter, and also on map, allow you to click the dots to see what device it is. Also an option to Pin devices would be nice. This would help tremendously in my search for a long lost AirTag, and it could definitely help in so many other ways. I just hope this gets added because I just paid $4 for a map that barely even works.

### 4/5 — Good Scanner - Needs Edit/Naming

*2026-06-08, version 1.7.6*

I’ve got a couple Bluetooth scanner apps and so far I find that it has the best feature set and frankly a very nice look (nerdy apps don’t have to be ugly…)

But, it is missing an editing feature - being able to name devices so I’m not guessing what is what on future scans would really be super helpful. Especially when a get more than a dozen “Unknown” devices and once I figure out what they are I can’t tell the app so it shows me
It’s “xyz sensor” going forward

### 2/5 — Need work

*2026-05-04, version 1.7.6*

App crashes constantly. Even after I paid for pro.

### 4/5 — It’s good

*2026-04-26, version 1.7.6*

Requires "pro" version for most features.

### 2/5 — Works Nicely but…

*2026-04-15, version 1.6.1*

After leaving it open for a while scanning, it used all of my ram and had to force quit most things open to get back to working. Must have a memory leak somewhere. Other than that, very useful and love it. Still keeping it.

### 4/5 — That's good, but i have(had) 3 probrems🥺

*2026-03-29*

I bought the Pro version, and I’m happy that it supports BLE connections — it makes things much more convenient. However, I have (or had) three issues:
1. There are no tutorials available (especially about using Shortcuts with this app).
2. In Shortcuts, I keep getting a "timeout" error. It would be very helpful if you could add a timeout setting, because the current behavior causes the shortcut to stop when the error occurs.
3. Please add a way to retrieve the device UUID. I can see the UUID in the preview, but I couldn’t find any way to access it from Shortcuts.
Thank you for your time.

### 4/5 — Very buggy

*2026-03-16, version 1.7.6*

Ever since the new update it keeps crashing

### 4/5 — Works great

*2026-02-11, version 1.7.2*

When Bluetooth is turned off, BT Inspector is somehow attempting to scan for bluetooth, even with background app refresh turned off system-wide 🤨

### 2/5 — Needs Improvement for Developers

*2025-12-22, version 1.7.3*

For developing BLE apps, this would be much more useful if it would refresh the supported services of a device without having to uninstall and reinstall the app.

### 3/5 — Something is wrong

*2025-09-28, version 1.7.3*

I know I can’t expect much on iPhone side, but I do expect it to be functional in some way. I have purchased the pro version, but it doesn’t seem to have improved things. It might just be the area that I live in. I hit scan, and I get about 80-100 devices listed as Unknown in an unknown area around me. Even interrogating everything, does not update the screen, but I get requests from all my neighbors iPhones and iPads to connect to my phone. What it does not do is find or connect to my Bluetooth speaker sitting 5 feet away. This is not useful. It seems that I don’t have all of the controls or the ability to go further into the app. Or access to support. The map would be useful if I could zoom in closer than a 1000 square feet so all I see is my location buried under a cluster of unknown devices. I don’t know what it would look like on other devices but if this is it for the iPhone then I am just not impressed. Sorry, but I really did want it to succeed because I need the information it promised and all I got was glitch.
Update: I still cannot get any other information about this app. I figured out how to work the app and it works a bit more stable on a newer device. But in the end, all it tells me is that I am surrounded by a bunch of unknown and unconnected devices. I can’t tell if they are disrupting my connections to my equipment or not or where they are because the map covers several city blocks and won’t zoom in further to a useful distance of just my building. And again, I can’t tell if that is a design feature or a glitch because I have no documentation to show me basic information about this app.

### 2/5 — Completely Unusable

*2025-09-03, version 1.6.1*

Even with a device actively selected, the list of devices re-sorts itself constantly and the selection is only preserved by index, not by device ID. I have no idea who thought this would be an acceptable UI choice but it is not.

It also rainbow pinwheels constantly, requiring a force quit.

### 4/5 — Doesn’t detect all by devices

*2025-08-26, version 1.7.2*

Doesn’t function well in apartment buildings. Detected over 300 BT but didn’t detect my BT earphones.

### 5/5 — Best Bluetooth App

*2025-08-20, version 1.7.2*

Honestly just saved my life trying to find my device in a crowded area, ridiculously accurate with location

### 5/5 — Good app, but could have better ways for shortcut actions

*2025-08-19, version 1.7.2*

I wish you can just get specific UUIDs of what you need and store them so it’s easier and faster to send small bits of data. With the actions currently, you have to scan, then interrogate, then scan for services, then select the characteristic, then finally send the data you want to send. Would be whole lot easier if it could be a string to look for and get the necessary data in text format and not as a whole data variable you can’t get specific values from.

### 5/5 — Found my lost sensor

*2025-08-06, version 1.7.2*

I have over 30 Govee temperature sensors. I name them by the location I put them in. Well I lost track of one sensor because it got switched with another sensor when I was changing the batteries.

Then that lost sensor started showing a humidity level of 75%. So I needed to find that sensors location.

I removed the batteries from all the Govee devices I could and then launched BT Inspector. It did not take long to figure out which BT device was my lost sensor.

I started walking around watching the BT signal increase and decrease. Walking towards the stronger signal location I got within 6 feet of the sensor. At that point I remembered where I had placed a sensor. I was able to find the high humidity and deal with it.

Using the BT Inspector I have been able to get within 6 feet of a device. At that point the signal stops changing enough to narrow the device location down any further.

### 1/5 — Crashes on iOS 26.2

*2026-01-22, version 1.7.4*

Crashes a lot when trying to Send any kind of message. To my ESP32-C3
iOS 26.2 with iPhone 13 Pro Max.

### 1/5 — Couldn’t find Bluetooth pencil from 3 feet away

*2026-01-08, version 1.7.3*

Useless

### 1/5 — BT Inspector

*2025-08-13, version 1.7.2*

This is a useless app as is … when you pay for the app, you really get nothing …. GPS info is collected but not displayed in Session dump, You cannot rename/customized BT entry, no user document, the developer has no easy way to feedback to him ….

Things to add and improve:
1) Allow changing the name of a BT device to indicate what it is (ex: Bill iPhone, John TV, etc) - Store that info so when it seen again, you know.
2) Add the GPS position to each device in the Session dump file
3) Allow blocking or non-display of known BT device(s) (ex: do not display your personal devices, just everybody else, etc)
4) Add link to developer feedback for the app
5) Provide and allow adding a picture for device (ex: if it a phone, use a icon for a phone, if a printer, icon for a printer you can add)
6) Store all this data on phone and cloud where ever so it inly entered once.
7) Show MAC instead of useless UUID. UUID is no value. MAC address is needed else this app is a total waste of money.

Thank you

### 1/5 — Did not work.

*2025-07-02, version 1.7.2*

Don’t pay for this

### 1/5 — Annoying map bug

*2025-03-10, version 1.7.2*

I purchased this mainly because of the estimated location map view. However there is an annoying bug where I can’t zoom in nor out, if I pinch-zoom in, it works but as soon as I let go it takes me back to a default view where i can hardly see anything in terms of device numbers. Please fix.

### 1/5 — 根本没用

*2025-03-08*

完全扫不到

### 1/5 — Not working

*2025-02-01, version 1.7.2*

Not sure if this got updated or not but tried installing and it doesn’t work. Like the app can’t even start ask for permission and there no options for it then it saids change setting in app wich tells you you need to go to system settings and change security to allow it but when you click on it it take you to app settings and tells you go back to app to change settings an endless loop of not working

### 1/5 — Buried Summary

*2025-01-21, version 1.7.2*

Of the several hundred available devices, summary information can only be gained by opening one device at a time. It is a fools task. Having a UUID filter alone would improve things.

### 1/5 — Finds Nothing

*2024-11-12, version 1.7.2*

I gave the app the permissions it asked for and verified them but it finds zero devices in a household full of them. Maybe an iOS 18 bug?

### 1/5 — Needs tp be update

*2024-11-03, version 1.6.1*

Constant crashing on Sequoia, no updates in a year, is this a dead app?
