## What is Bluetooth Smart Discover?

Microchip’s SmartDiscover provides the ability to scan and connect to nearby Microchip Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) peripherals and listen to BLE broadcasters. Once connected to a BLE peripheral, the user can discover all the services and characteristics that are enabled in the peripheral. It lets the user read, write or enable notifications as appropriate for the discovered characteristics. The standard advertising data types included in the advertisement data of the discovered BLE broadcasters can also be checked.

It only sees devices that have a pre configured Bluetooth connection. Can’t read chips as far as I can tell.

This app is great. So easy to use its a fantastic little debug tool. I use it with the microchip bm77 and it works really well on all my apple devices.

It also gives you the Mac ssid and heaps of other useful information.
