## What is Bluffo?

One player draws a card and reads the question out loud. What a “kerf” is. What a “squinch” holds up in a tower. What a “tenter” was, in “on tenterhooks”.

Then the phone goes round the table, and everyone else reads something they are not allowed to repeat: the real answer.

Now you choose. Tell the truth, and work in every red word. Or invent the whole thing, and never let one of them cross your lips. Only one player may take the truth; the app quietly enforces the rest.

Everyone answers out loud, in turn, with as much nerve as they can manage. Then the reader names the one they believe, and the card opens.

TRUE CARDS, CHECKED TWICE
Rare words, idioms, objects and inventions. Every answer is an established fact backed by two independent sources: you bluff on the truth.

ONE PHONE, THAT’S ALL
• Three to eight players, around a single phone
• No account, no connection, nothing collected
• Two decks free, the rest unlocked once and for all
• No ads, ever

The most convincing player wins. Not the most honest.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.0.2 — 2026-10-11

Every deck, in one purchase.

The "Every deck" purchase is now available: once, for good, on this device. The two free decks stay playable without buying anything.

The shop also says so plainly when it cannot reach the App Store, instead of loading forever.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-09-14

A round that never ended
A defect made the game unplayable past the first round: “See the scores” and “Back to the round” kept handing off to each other, never offering what came next. Fixed — and games left stuck unstick themselves on update.

FIND THE TRUTH, A NEW MODE
Tick it before you start. The reader no longer names a single player: they keep guessing until they get it right, or until only two names are left. Every miss costs them a point and earns one for the bluffer they unmasked. A truth that survives the round unfound earns a point for whoever took it. You count points, not cards — so a total can drop below zero. And sensing disaster, the reader can give up. But only after taking their chance at least once.

A NUDGE WHEN NOTHING COMES
Inventing on command isn't for everyone. “I'm stuck” offers a bluffing technique — never a ready-made answer. Nobody else sees it.

ELSEWHERE
Buttons read better, links finally look tappable, and “How to play” explains the new mode.
