This is a good app, so can you please resolve the issue with the app crashing when attempting to do a backup. Recently my IPad would not come on, and so on a new device from the Apple Store, I installed, the app again. I had expected to be able to put in my login information and receive my old notes, or at least to not have to purchase the app again. Well neither happened. I lost all my apps, and I did not get the features I already paid for. The absolute worst thing for me is, I reached out to Support, to the email provided and got no response. It makes it impossible to use. It would be one thing if a simple ad started in the beginning and then never came back on again, but I’m telling you every time you push anything another ad pops up. It isn’t just one simple ad either. It tries to trick you multiple times to think it’s done. Then the ad to purchase no pop-ups, comes up every time after every ad. It was exactly what I needed until ads ruined it. I have to watch a full ad when trying to open EVERY note now - not a folder, every note. I’ve been slowly moving my notes onto the Apple Notes app ever since ads ruined this app for me. ### 1/5 — Adds *2025-01-03, version 7.3.1* I absolutely hate this app! If you don’t buy the no adds for $10 you can’t use this app. It’s all adds and you can’t get past them. The X button does not work when the add is done and even if you are able to get past it another one pops up if you try to go into any other part of the app. It was not like this in the beginning but apparently someone got greedy and made it so you can’t use it unless you buy it ### 1/5 — Lost Data *2024-12-23, version 7.3.1* I had a lot of data saved on my app and bought a new phone. However, I recently bought a new phone and despite having long ago paid to permanently remove ads (at a quarter of the price now being charged to do so; if it were still $3.99 I’d probably shrug and pay again to avoid the hassle), I am now being attacked by pop-ups that appear on a per-note basis. Multiple emails to the developer about fixing the problem have gone unanswered. Will delete or revise this review should the issue be resolved. ### 1/5 — Missing Notes and No Support *2026-06-07, version 7.3.1* When I updated to iPhone 17 half of my BluLines notes disappeared and I was getting ads (after purchasing the premium version). To recover missing files BluLines suggested deleting then reinstalling the app. I did that and now ALL my files are gone. There is no support to fix this. I sent an email to the developer weeks ago and I’ve heard nothing. 10 years of notes and ideas gone. I recommend buying the full version because the ads popping up all the time would have made my rating for this go down. I use this app to save fics, RPs & some past writing. The app not only allows you to organize the text files but also make folders. As far as I know this was way before the default notes app had the folders options.(I use both but still like using this one more) Another thing this has over the default notes app is the ability to back up the app. This has come in handy when I switched from my old ipad to my current one(gen5 ipad mini) it allowed me to get back my old files again. Only problem now is that I wish the app supported stuff like italics, bold, underline, & striked out. You can copy it in but if you leave the text file & come back it’s normal text with no italics nor anything. Then I found Noto, and despite still using apple notes daily, I like Noto enough to replace it where blu lines used to be. ☔️☔️ Update; 4 Oct 2019, I’ve had more time using this app on phone and it’s still my No.1. There are others that I also use but for lengthy items and letters / notes with various drafts this is ideal. Keep all in same folder. Edit version you want. A two tone grey is new theme, helps when it’s late and calm colour needed. Keep up good work developers! Still gets 5️⃣ stars. ### 5/5 — Truly Amazing *2021-06-10* I have used this for numerous months and its so convenient to use, its great for organization and its easy to use. Only thing I wish about it is if you could lock specific journals with a passcode or something, in case you want that extra privacy for a specific note you'd prefer no one seeing, that would be nice. ### 5/5 — Still works great for me! *2020-09-08* I’ve been using BluLines for several years and it still works great for me! I have the free version, so I have to deal with adds, but aside from that, it’s great. And if you want to get rid of adds, you can always purchase the upgraded non-ads version. Just wanted to put the plug in for this app since I’ve seen a lot of overly negative reviews. The app is still great for taking and organizing notes. Love the folders and ability to back up your info, in multiple ways. *2019-04-28, version 7.2.5* I love this app. My only criticism, is that I had to repurchase my lifetime no ads, feature, after the upgrade last year. They did send me a code to re-activate for free but the code expires if not used promptly and they have not sent me a new one. So, I just paid another $4 for no ads. My first purchase for no ads lasted 5 years. Atv$1 a year that’s not bad. Hopefully Bluelines support will refund my $4 in time and be true to their promise of “life time” no ads; regardless of whether you promptly use their reinstall code.
