Most times check photos are not available. Bill pay is cumbersome ### 3/5 — On again: Off again *2026-03-03, version 2025.10.1.2* Oh joy, each month, I must use my online banking app to transact several Zelle payments and receive confirmastiono of Zelle deposits into my checking account. Too often the app will not accept a correct password. I am forced into Fprgot Password. Then I am told my new passwords are invalid, which means a call to the main office. They then say that I must use an underscore for some unknown reason. Meanwhile, I have wasted a lot of my valuable time due to a poor IT system at BluPeak, an otherwise friendly, pleasant alternative from the horrid NuVision Credit Union where they do not even answer your calls to the main number most of the time. ### 2/5 — Incorrect balances *2026-02-06, version 2025.10.1.2* The App no longer calculates available balance by deducting pending transactions. This app has gone backwards since BluePeak bought USE Credit Union. Back then even though it was just an old fashioned credit union, they still knew how to do math. Now that it’s shiny new BluePeak, the “Available Balance” is always the same as the “Current Balance”. So pending transactions like interbank transfers aren’t deducted from “Available Balance” even though they are showing as pending right there in the app. So you have to manually figure out how much money you really have available to spend. Such a big step backward for a financial institution. Maybe they have to spend their money on rebranding instead of hiring app developers who can program basic calculations into the app. Or maybe someone just accidentally deleted that bit of code and no-one at BluePeak has noticed. Sad. ### 3/5 — Missing USE still *2025-06-18, version 2025.2.2.3* BluPeak isn't customer friendly ### 1/5 — Latest update completely ruined the app *2024-01-26, version 2023.10.01* App used to be decent when it was USECU but ever since Blupeak took over it’s been going steadily downhill. First they broke Face ID, and now they’ve completely redone the UI with an absolutely ridiculous combination of webviews. It’s like stepping into a Time Machine to 15 years ago. It’s not only unusable, but completely useless. You can’t even make transfers in the app anymore! This is enough to make me close my account. ### 2/5 — Bank issues *2023-05-09, version 2022.09.02* This is the second time the bank has issues and I can’t withdraw my money from the atm. The only way to get money out is by going to the bank and withdrawing it there. I hope this doesn’t keep on happening because I will be forced to change to another bank. ### 4/5 — BluPeak app ok in the US - almost useless with VPN abroad..... *2023-02-05, version 2022.09.02* The app is ok in the continental US and all functionality like Zelle and bill pay seem to work. I could not get transfers to work to pay my Card. It is almost totally useless abroad when using a VPN. I'm at a five star hotel in Tenerife where the internet is good, however using a VPN (Hot Spot and Tunnel Bear) to the US and the app is useless. I use a VPN on public WiFi for obvious reasons and it's beyond comprehension that a banking institution cannot provide a secure and reliable means to bank while abroad. My friends on Santander and LLoyds have no problem. ### 2/5 — Handy for check deposits *2022-07-09, version 2021.11.0.59* Once they worked it out, the deposits have worked. On all my iPhones, I’ve had to take the pictures with the top of the check out of frame in order to get all edges in the pic which is required for deposit. You line up the pic perfectly and when you take it, the pic is shifted. Retake after retake. Pretty embarrassing app. Account access and transfers are easy though, so 2 stars for that. ### 1/5 — Bad app *2021-11-05, version 2021.06.0.56* Tried numerous times to sign in via the app using the same credentials I always use to no avail. Not sure what the issue is. ### 1/5 — USE profits from prison industrial complex *2021-07-08, version 2021.3.0.49* USE profits from prison industrial complex by “proudly” partnering with CA prisons and taking care of payroll of prison staff. Name is University and “State Employees” Credit Union. So if you’re against mass incarceration (esp of people of color), take your business elsewhere. ### 3/5 — Stop making me look at my check twice *2021-03-09, version 6.6.2.46* I’d give I 5 stars, except for the fact that the app forces you to look at the picture of your check twice to verify that it’s correct. It’s an unnecessary waste of my time. I went to call to fix the problem, and the wait time was 90 minutes. I tried the chat function and they said try calling. I’m having so many issues with Zelle through their app and website. I’ve tried to get it fixed for the last 3+ months and no dice. Love that all my bank account can be under one online profile with Use credit union.
