### 3/5 — Streaming-Dienste nicht aufrufbar

Leider kann ich Streamingdienste wie Qobuz nicht aufrufen. Diese werden unter der Quelle BluOS auf dem Gerät verwaltet. An diese Quellen komme ich nicht dran (NAD M33). Spotify geht wegen Spotifiy Connect (?), andererseits hat Qobuz auch Qobuz Connect mittlerweile… schade. Ich hoffe auf Weiterentwicklung. :-)

**Developer response:** Bessere Unterstützung von Streaming-Diensten steht auf der Roadmap und wird kommen. Stay tuned :)

Ich kann nur die eingestellten Sender anwählen - Das wars dann - zu wenig Funktionen. Ich würde die App gerne wie BluOS nutzen, welche leider für Mac nicht vorhanden ist.

**Developer response:** Du kannst dir vorerst alles als Preset speichern, wo du drauf zugreifen willst. Browsen von Radiosendern und der Musik-Bibliothek ist in Arbeit, aber es dauert noch ein bisschen, bis es ein vollwertiger Ersatz ist. Der Fokus war bisher auf Zusatzfunktionen. I very much appreciate what you’ve done…the BluOs Controller app for Mac is really clunky. The two features I’m hoping you’ll implement are (1) playing music from usb, and (2) playing radio stations that aren’t part of a music service. There’s no way to add these to favorites that I’ve been able to find, as they don’t have a login. If there’s a way to do these things, please enlighten me! That would make it 5 stars. Thanks.

Wäre gut wenn man das Gerät an und ausschalten könnte! Ansonsten sehe ich keinen Vorteil

Bought for the customizable widget - disappointed that it isn’t ready for prime time.  The “customizable” part is basically being able to hide things like the player name, shuffle, etc.  But no option to actually show the song being played. The BluOS Controller works better as a widget.  The one thing  that is nice is access to the pre-set stations in widget form.  The player itself is a bit clunky looking, 90% of the surface of it is your pre-set radio stations. If the player widget is improved to show what is playing and the actual app is setup a bit better (and the volume control improved so it doesn’t jump in volume so quickly) it could be worth the price…

**Developer response:** Update v1.8.0: Added new "Now Playing" widgets, a shortcut action, a Siri command and a mini player in the macOS menu bar. Hope this improves your experience!

Thanks for your review. Let me provide some details:

- regarding the volume control, you can change the step size in the settings, and even 1 % steps are possible

- I had “show the current song” widgets running in tests for some months but was never satisfied, because the OS nowadays limits the refresh rate drastically. It works as long as you use the app, but does not update if you control the player directly or with other remotes. I can release such a widget with a manual refresh button, for all the cases where it does not refresh automatically.

- regarding the “90 % of the app shows presets”, yes, it is focused on presets for now, but I will provide other content, like browsing the local library, soon

### 5/5 — Solid Alternative to the BluOS App

This app is a breath of fresh air for anyone who has suffered through Bluesound’s bloated and cumbersome-to-use BluOS controller app.

Its clean and straightforward interface is perfect for putting the focus back on Bluesound’s excellent sounding components and away from the needless fumbling of the BluOS app.

You’ll still need the BluOS app for setting up certain things such as Presets, which I use for streaming music from a SSD and the individual component volume controls are not quite as convenient to use.  It’s close but still needs some refinement since speakers have to be selected individually for volume control unlike the BluOS app, where you can adjust the volume for any networked device from one list.

All in all, this is an excellent choice if you want to spend more time listening to music than scrolling through an over-engineered app.

Very well done.  A simple app which makes Bluesound quick and easy to use.  The Bluesound app is confusing and hard to navigate, even after the recent update.  This little app makes it fun again.

It is a very stripped down app, but I use it when I want to just play Paradise Radio and control volume without searching on the bluOs app.

This app has minimal function. It allows to select a player, store some favorites and adjust the volume. That is it. No ability to select a radio station or music source. This app does not serve any purpose next to BluOS 4.

**Developer response:** The app is designed to be minimalistic and distraction free – for everybody who does not like the complexity of the BluOS Controller app. Browsing the music library and selecting streaming services is on the roadmap. Kein Zugriff auf NAS Systeme.

**Developer response:** Die App bietet viele tolle Dinge, die die offizielle BluOS App nicht kann. Der Zugriff auf die lokale Bibliothek folgt auch demnächst. Du hättest mich nach diesem Feature auch fragen können.

Kept disconnecting. Bagged as high end sound system but their developers are not. Buggy, complicated UI, no Bluetooth connectivity. No option for an active system.

**Developer response:** Sorry, I think you rated the wrong app. I developed BluRemote, because I also think the official BluOS app is complicated and buggy. Please remove your rating here and send your concerns to the Bluesound team instead. Your rating could mislead other users who are searching for an alternative like my BluRemote app.

Quickly realized I’d been tricked into buying this.

I would have appreciated that you ask for support before simply submitting a 1-star review. 🤷‍♂️

And it is not a trick. You can request a refund if you really can’t get it working.

Doesn’t fix any connection issues with BluOS app. It’s just a GUI built on top of BluOS. You’ll still need BluOS to scan library etc. This is only for people who hate the OEM app interface for whatever reason. Seems unnecessary to me.

I really don’t understand how people can give this less than 5 stars. It does exactly what it says and does it much better than the official BluOs app. 

The offical app keeps looking for players whereas this one always has my players available. The widgets are awesome.

Ich nutze die IOS App seit 2 Jahren und die ist für mich unverzichtbar. Vor allem die flexiblen Kurzbefehle und Widgets sind super. Eine tolle Ergänzung zu der Original Bluesound App, die viele der Möglichkeiten nicht bietet. Auch die Mac App überzeugt mich und ich nutze diese in letzter Zeit häufiger.
Und Christoph kümmert sich sehr schnell um E-Mails und ist offen für Vorschläge.

Nutze die App inzwischen über ein Jahr und sie wird immer besser. Gerade gab es wieder ein Update, nach dem Update der Player von BlueSound. Cover-Anzeige funzt jetzt super - in der App und den Widgets. Presets starten im shuffle mode (Tidal in BlueSound eingebunden). Über die Kurzbefehle und einige Automationen steuer ich mein System fast ausschließlich mit dieser App. Ein großes Lob und vielen Dank an Christoph, der immer schnell auf Support Anfragen reagiert.

I really like this lightweight app. With the integration into menu bar it is a nice upgrade to the native BluOS Controller app. What would make the app imho even nicer would be a coupling of system volume level to app volume level, so that player volume level could be changed by the buttons on the Mac. Ich bin letztes Jahr von Sonos zu Bluesound gewechselt und habe mir direkt diese App gekauft. Sie hat einen großen Anteil daran, dass ich mit dem Wechsel sehr zufrieden bin, weil sie die offizielle App perfekt ergänzt! 

Die Widgets zu den Presets, dem Albumbild, der Steuerung usw. sind einfach superpraktisch und funktionieren zuverlässig, ich nutze alles mehrmals täglich. Mein iPhone hängt quer am Magsafe-Dock und auch hier im Standby gibt es Widgets! Leider aktualisiert sich das Widget dort nur alle 5 min, ich vermute aber, das ist von Apple so vorgegeben und technisch nicht anders lösbar. Hierfür gibt es aber einen kleinen Refresh-Button, praktisch.

Steuerung per Siri Shortcuts/Kurzbefehle funktioniert übrigens ebenfalls sehr zuverlässig. (Da zahlt sich aus, dass sich die Geräte über eine API ansteuern lassen und alles super dokumentiert ist.). Habe mir ein paar Routinen für mehrere Lautstärkepegel und Radiosender gebaut - Bessere und schnellere Sprachsteuerung, als ich sie bei Sonos hatte.

Tolles System, super App! Kann ich nur empfehlen, sich damit zu beschäftigen.

I like the BluRemote for the ability to create widgets on my Mac. The only thing I’d love is if the Now Playing widget had sound up and down. Currently, I have to use two widgets to accomplish this which isn’t a deal breaker, but could be better.
