Designed for BMW ChargeForward participants, the ChargeForward app lets participants take control of their charging with the option to always Charge Immediately, to view your vehicle’s charging status, view and set your departure time settings, and view your monthly rewards and reward history, if applicable. Most of the time the car won’t charge up or you won’t get any credits for no known reason. If I could give this app -1000, I would. Shockingly bad and untested. ### 2/5 — Frustrating and Problematic *2025-02-18* After almost a year using the this App (and supposedly earning over $50 in rewards, which I never received), I dropped out of the program. Settings would change for no known reason resulting in the battery not being charged when you needed it to be. The Charge Immediately option sometimes worked, sometimes didn’t. Very frustrating. ### 2/5 — Needs Serious Improvement *2025-02-13* This app should be integrated more seamlessly with the My BMW app for EVs. The settings in the ChargeForward app have to be manipulated constantly or the vehicle will not charge. This app causes constant notifications to alert users that the “charging restarted” or the “charging paused” when the EV is plugged in. Ideally users should be able to set it and forget it with the expectation that charging occurred during non-peak hours at the set charge percentage. Also would be nice if the app didn’t constantly log out. ### 1/5 — Worst EV App Ever Do NOT install *2024-12-27* This is the most horrible app ever do not install. It will ruin all of your charge settings. It will not allow the car to precondition. It will not help your efficiency probably one of the worst software applications ever. ### 1/5 — Unusable captcha *2024-11-12, version 3.4.2* Can no longer login because the totally unnecessary captcha doesn’t work. Useless ### 1/5 — A Total Miss *2024-10-11* I have set this up dozens of times and it constantly changes my departure times. I plug in at 10:00pm to wake up to a vehicle that did not charge at all during the night. Isn’t power demand lowest in the middle of the night? This makes no sense. And where’s that rebate check for all of the off schedule charges I’ve completed? ### 1/5 — Does not work most of the time *2024-09-07* I keep getting error message. 9 out of 10 times I go in, in does not work. It needs MAJOR improvements!!! ### 1/5 — This App Has ONE Job... *2024-05-21* Ditto on all of the comments re: departure times being overwritten & uncertainty introduced as to whether car will actually be charged when I need it. My biggest gripe is that the app was sold claiming to avoid charging during my utility's peak period which it clearly does NOT. We are on a time-of-day plan with our utility which sets the highest rates during the peak demand window 5:00pm to 9:00pm on weekdays, yet the app would regularly start charging within this window...DUMB!!! I guess not so surprising since the app never bothered to ask which power utility/ plan we were actually using. It's so much easier just to set the charging start time in our iX to 9:00pm every night using the car or My BMW app (which thankfully, works much better)... ### 1/5 — Do not use *2024-04-30* Nearly impossible (or actually impossible) to go back to normal.
