But I like the integration with the bmw clock wheel. Makes it easy to use while riding. Mapping is not the best. Adds some great functionality and integration with the motorcycle - when the app works. However, it keeps having an issue with creating a “ghost” bike in the app which causes it to not track your rides and bike info. BMW needs to fix this - it’s widely reported and a known bug - and unfortunately makes an otherwise good app frustrating to use. ### 4/5 — Great app, but it needs widgets and an easier way to send feedback *2026-04-18, version 5.7.0* The BMW Motorrad Connected app is useful overall and does a nice job with core ride and vehicle information, but it still feels like it is missing a few features that would make the experience much better for owners of premium bikes. The biggest thing I would love to see is an iPhone home screen widget. Other vehicle apps like Tesla and Rivian make it easy to glance at key info without opening the app, and BMW Motorrad should offer something similar. Even a simple widget showing the bike, fuel/range, last status, and quick access into the app would be a big improvement. Another issue is that there does not seem to be an obvious way inside the app to submit feedback, report bugs, or suggest features. For an app tied to a premium ownership experience, there really should be a visible support or feedback option built in. Overall, the app has a solid foundation, but adding widget support and a clear in-app feedback/bug-report channel would make it feel far more complete and modern. ### 2/5 — App can’t find many places *2026-04-07, version 5.7.0* I’m riding from Atlanta to Vermont for the national rally. The app can’t find Burlington, VT, Buffalo, etc. These a cities not small little towns. I deleted the app, set it up again, redownloaded all maps for the states I’ll be riding through and it still cannot find many cities. I typing the exact address of some hotels I’ll be staying at. Still can’t find them. I enjoyed using the BMW Connected app through my last ride of the year in November. The local speed limit displayed on the TFT, and 30 trips were recorded in detail. In December I upgraded from iPhone 13 to iPhone 15, and connected the new phone to the bike. Since resuming riding in February, the speed limit is not displayed and trips are not recorded. After reinstalling the Connected app and doing the full setup, some bike data is now updated in the app, but still no speed limit or trip recording. The speed limit square on the TFT only shows three dashes. I would like to restore full functionality. ### 3/5 — No K1600 2025 models pictures and WiFi problem *2026-02-24, version 5.7.0* I have a 2025 K1600 GT Sport Racing Blue but the only GT Sport is the white in the pictures … And the WiFi is always disconnect from my bike. This disappointing app is what you offer for my very expensive motorcycle? Do better than this next time, please. ### 3/5 — Good app, but buggy *2026-01-06, version 5.6.5* I use this app all the time to navigate, and it’s generally reliable, but there are always bugs, and BMW does little to address them. Currently when I open the app, it always defaults to a “floating”map page where I can not enter any data. And the only way to get around this is to close the app and reopen it. Then there is the bug of entering an address to navigate to, selecting the address in the results list, and then the app clears the address so you have to re-enter it again. Overall, it’s a good app, but it would be better if BMW would do a better job of stress testing it. ### 1/5 — Impossible to log back in *2025-12-26, version 5.6.5* For sure the worst possible implementation of stupid and un necessary captcha. Get 2FA, drop Captcha especially this one! ### 1/5 — Worthless: Defaults to Navigation *2025-12-20, version 5.6.5* Within minutes irretrievably defaults to navigation function which I don’t use. Should I really be focusing on making this app work while I’m riding? For a company that charges $500 for an oil change it’s a PR killer. ### 1/5 — Maps are incomplete *2025-12-09, version 5.6.5* Using this for BDR trips but half the roads are not in the maps which lead to a failure of navigating a preloaded map. LAME. And thats when the app works which is less than a 50 percent chance it's going to show you on a map and another 50/50 chance you're in the right spot. then when it does show up, you don't know which way to go because the map constantly is rotating around on 360 degree axis like you are making a u turn while driving. save time, money and frustration by just using something else. It won’t recognize my device commonly while the phone and navigator are saying connected. It also won’t let me reset my password. Horrible ### 1/5 — Couldn’t be any worse! *2026-07-02, version 5.10.0* Every time you turn off the bike it’s another 10 minute ordeal to re-pair. At least half the time it just says, Connection Not Possible without any explanation. On those few occasions when it does get connected, it often drops for no reason. BMW should be embarrassed for putting out a piece of garbage like this app! Apple and Google have set the standard with CarPlay and Android Auto and this thing is not in the same league!! I gave up on this app and switched to. Garmin Zumo which works flawlessly! Shame this is a worthless verification process. Needs to be a legal case. Which two of us in the store have the ability. The process of creating id the verification of dragging images on a small phone seems not to work. And creating the id on the web has been down for weeks. Seems to make me wonder should I have purchase the $35k motorcycle with a jankie process to enroll. Lower my expectations of BMW ### 1/5 — Won’t stay connected to R18 *2026-04-29, version 5.7.0* Horrible app is completely unreliable with my R18. I’m going to have to mod the bike with CarPlay and ruin the looks because I need nav, and BMW can’t actually provide what it sold me. I just recently tried deleting it and starting over. It constantly disconnect while I’m driving and then forget that I’m logged in. And I have to start all over. This experience is just superior. Yeah there’s something cool about the T120 I get it but the fun you can have with this technology the way it makes you be able to relax more really focus on the fun of the experience. My R1300 RS is made even better with the app and the technology. Once these steps have been completed all one needs to do is ensure that the app is running in the background of your smartphone while on a ride. All of your rides will automatically be saved within the app for you to review whenever you desire. To say I am frustrated and dissatisfied is a huge understatement. ### 5/5 — 2023 BMW S1000RR *2023-12-04, version 5.1.0* Finally made it to the other side and I must say I am very impressed with the bike and app. Tons of tech and it just seems to work. Adding CarPlay would really elevate the system. This would be a wish list thing for the developers. Luckily I haven’t experienced any issues as others have stated. FYI using a Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max! Keep up the good work and give us some more!!! ### 5/5 — Improved maps, but that’s it *2023-06-09* With this v5 update I needed to reinstall the maps. Fine, no problem. But when I go to view a route the app tells me I need to download over 3 GB of additional maps that are in another county, and not related to the route at all. I’ve sent feedback through the app twice but never got a response to this issue. I don’t know how this version got past best testing. **Developer response:** Hello and thank you for your feedback.
