Why can’t I edit a name… Keeps reverting back to original. That should be a no brainer. Not an intuitive format. ### 1/5 — Absolutely Horrible *2025-12-16, version 1.0.1* We’ve been using the old version app HBN Smart for a while and it’s never let me down. We purchased another smart outlet and it would only let me attach to this new app and it’s been an absolute nightmare. Our outlet isn’t following any schedules we put in, won’t even save the labels we set for the outlets, randomly turns everything off and is extremely unreliable. It’s so bad we’re now returning this switch and going with a different brand. ### 1/5 — Terrible app *2025-12-16, version 1.0.1* Same review as others. Set the timer for two separate plugs. They turn on when scheduled but neither turns off as scheduled. Also annoying that I have to use two separate apps for the same product (we bought another set about 3 years ago that use the original app). The old ones work perfectly but the new ones are garbage and a waste of money! ### 1/5 — Scheduling feature doesn’t work *2025-12-16, version 1.0.1* Besides a clunky UI, the biggest issue is that it won’t reliably follow a schedule that is set. Given that scheduled on/off is a big use case for smart plugs, that’s a dealbreaker. ### 1/5 — Why?! *2025-12-15, version 1.0.1* I never leave reviews, but I am so frustrated. I bought two outdoor Bluetooth outlet switches last year which functioned through the BN Link Smart app. I misplaced one so I bought a similar item which forced me to use this app…that doesn’t even work. It’s on a schedule- nothing happens. The manual toggle to turn it on and off is greyed out. I literally bought an inconvenience because now I need to return the product and start over. Avoid the headache and definitely buy something else. ### 1/5 — Don’t even waste your time *2025-12-15, version 1.0.1* Absolutely useless. I have no idea how the original app is so good and this one is totally useless. The schedule never works. I have to manually turn the plugs on and off in the app. Sometimes it’s works but typically it doesn’t. Super annoying and I only purchased these plugs because I loved my last ones with the older app! ### 1/5 — DO NOT DOWNLAOD *2025-12-14, version 1.0.1* I never write reviews, but I had to for this app. This is the worst app I have ever used. The smart plugs, never light up per the schedule I’ve set. I will be getting rid of this app and the plugs that work with this app. The old app worked perfectly, but the new plugs are not compatible with the old app. Save yourself the headache and buy another brand. ### 1/5 — Old app was better *2025-12-14, version 1.0.1* I have use the HBN Smart app for years with no issues. The new plugs aren’t compatible with the old app so I have to use this new one. I hate it! Schedules don’t work consistently, can’t rename things (won’t save the changes), temperamental as hell. Either fix it or make everything compatible with the old app. ### 1/5 — Very bad app *2025-12-13, version 1.0.1* It cannot set up schedule. Cannot import settings BN-smart. It cannot even show the name of smart plug I renamed but it cannot show it!!!. BN-hub! You suck ### 1/5 — USELESS!! *2025-12-12, version 1.0.1* If I could write this a zero, I would! I’ve been using BN-LINK for a couple of years now and it has always been really good but recently they changed apps or something. First of all it’s annoying that I have to use two separate apps because all my other connections are on the original app and this app is horrible! First of all they make it difficult to even connect the plugs and you could set timers, but they don’t even work! I noticed that they don’t turn on when I already said it on a schedule and it doesn’t turn off either so it stays on all night. ### 1/5 — Lots of problems. I would use another system. *2025-12-10, version 1.0.1* I used the BN Link app for a few years, and that worked great. Then I bought more smart plugs, but they wouldn’t work with the previous app so I had to use this one. So many problems right out of the gate. It’s glitchy it doesn’t work things turn on and off seemingly at random and the fact that there have been a bunch of negative reviews and the developer hasn’t responded to any of them tells me all I need to know about their concern for the end user. Very disappointed that their upgrade ruined their product. ### 1/5 — App is trash *2025-12-10, version 1.0.1* Got the plugs, downloaded the app and set up a timer schedule for two of the plugs yesterday (12/7/25). The timers worked as scheduled yesterday. Today (12/8/25), they turned on when they were supposed to but didn’t turn off at the scheduled time. I have them set up for the same on/off time everyday; no variation at this time. ETA-scheduled timer did not go on this morning (12/9/25). Also of note, if you have set a schedule for the timer to go on/off and unplug the plug, the schedule is deleted. The older version of the plugs and the app for those did not delete the schedules. ### 1/5 — Worst app ever *2025-12-07, version 1.0.1* It’s horrible the button to turn it on and off doesn’t even work on your phone to switch it off or on !! Like what’s the point if you can’t get it to do anything it’s the worst app I ever used in my life. Such a waste of money. The schedule doesn’t work either ### 1/5 — Really bad software *2025-12-06, version 1.0.1* The hardware does work but the software is so badly done and counter intuitive that it is almost not worth using at all. Sometimes I can barely get the app to work manually. This is not what I paid for. ### 1/5 — NOT BN-LINK *2025-11-22, version 1.0.1* We bought a timer on Amazon that said it was a BN-Link switch. But required us to download this app, which is not the app that we have for all of our other devices. Used BN Link devices for years. Bought a new set for my house. Had to use new app. Integration is bad with Google. Automation is not reliable. Never had issues till the new devices and new app. Looking to replace them all now. I have 30+ devices that need replaced with a new product. Not sure I can trust BN Link now. I now have 3 different looking switches that are all the same model number which is disappointing. Do better. Willing to stick with them if they can fix the app and make the new devices behave and look the same. ### 1/5 — Fix the app *2026-01-23, version 1.0.1* The app will not let you save outlet names even though it claimed to have saved them and you cannot delete created homes. It took me kne hour to connect their smart plus to this app and only through Bluetooth. Then no buttons working except setting. But thr settings button turns of the device. This is a joke and waste of time. ### 1/5 — Google Home Incompatible *2026-01-03, version 1.0.1* The product I bought claimed to be compatible with Google Home. I previously purchase BN-Link products and used their BN-Link Smart app (not 100% sure on the name) and it worked flawlessly. Expecting the same quality, I purchase two additional but new products. The new products use this app, and it is a complete failure. It will link with my account on Google Home, but does not sync any devices. The other BN-Link Smart app syncs instantaneously. Avoid this app and associated products. ### 1/5 — No Good *2025-12-22, version 1.0.1* Bought 5 devices. Through away 5 devices a week later. BN Link doesn’t recognize the devices. BN Hub is a garbage app. It did recognize them but eventually lost contact and could not find devices when I tried to relink. Don’t waste your time and $ ### 1/5 — Terrible *2025-12-21, version 1.0.1* Specifically bought a BN-LINK product so I could connect it to the same app as my other smart plugs. Didn’t realize they changed the app that supports their products. Can’t move my original 10 plugs to the new app and can’t use the new plug on the previous app. Even if I was willing to use 2 apps, I couldn’t get BN-HUB to work at all! Returned the plug and will no longer be buying BN-LINK products. ### 1/5 — Schedule in the app does not work *2025-12-19, version 1.0.1* I wish I would’ve researched this app before purchasing this product! I only bought it so I could have my Christmas lights on a timer. The schedule on doesn’t work it doesn’t turn the lights on. I have to manually turn the lights on. I have tried to delete the schedule and add a new one multiple times and that doesn’t work. ### 1/5 — Worst app ever - not associated with other BN-link at all *2025-12-17, version 1.0.1* This app is a lie and their items are not the same as those that are a part of the Bn-link family. Just get an email for testing your password and you’ll see it comes from a “centerpoint” team ## Most praised reviews (2 highest-rated) ### 3/5 — Naming conventions won’t save *2025-12-30, version 1.0.1* Just set up today and the toggles seem to work to control the lights. I’ve set up a schedule as well. The only pain is I’m trying to name each socket separately to determine which is backyard lighting vs front yard lighting but it won’t save. I’ve edited and saved multiple times but each time it changes back to the original name the device preset. The app leaves something to be desired but seems to be working with my device for now ### 2/5 — App won’t remember settings *2026-01-28, version 1.0.1* Changing the switch names will not keep once you close the app. It reverts to the default name.
