Also, it might be a good idea to combine this app with the new interactive WIC website that came out that tells you things that are wic approved so like when you click on grains, it’ll tell you things from your store that is approved. It’s nice to use on small trips to see what I need quickly but if I am ever at a new store or have to use the scan part of the app I have to log in sometimes up to three times. I was once in a store and logged in to check to see if a certain box of cereal could be purchased and by the time I made it to the canned fruit aisle it had logged me out. I don’t take long to shop and you would think if someone just used the app within 10 minutes with their phone you are still using the app. This app is more secure than my bank app. ### 1/5 — Terrible *2025-10-23, version 2.1.5* Timeout extremely fast. God forbid you have to change your number. They say call customer service but there isn’t an option to talk to a live agent or actually help change your number. It takes forever to login. It’ll tell me something is approved when it’s not. It doesn’t always work when you do scan stuff. The app is in DESPERATE NEED OF AN UPDATE. It doesn’t give me options. If something should be on the list and isn’t it doesn’t give me like secondary choices. It’s very bland and very not well put together. I used to live in Kentucky and their app is great. I haven’t been able to see store locator where wic is approved in almost a year now. The barcode scanner now doesn’t work. On top of that I can never tell what is approved and what isnt. I usually have to google what products are accepted and sometimes I’m lucky that it is but most of the time I’m not so lucky and have to pay out of pocket. I can’t get through support ever and whenever I ask the wic office they tell me their same frustrations with the app too hand me a printed out sheet that still doesn’t show me what brands are approved or not approved. The whole shopping trip takes longer because I have to log back in over and over. They also should update the app to include the brands of food and amount that are allowed. I always ask for the paper printout to have as backup because this info is not readily available on the app. Most recently every time I log in I can not use the scanner it gives me the message “unknown error please try again.” This has been going on for about a month. I have made sure my phone is updated and compatible with the app. I have restarted my phone, I have made sure the app is the most recent update and has deleted it and redownloaded it and nothing has worked.
