## What is Bænk?

Bænk helps you find a good place to sit.

Open the map and see the benches around you, each rated by people who have sat there. Looking for something in particular? Filter for top rated, shade, a view, somewhere quiet or by the water.

Found a good one? Add it in a few taps with a photo, a pin and a rating, so the next person can find it too.

• Benches near you, with walking time
• Ratings and short notes, called sits
• Tags like shaded, sunset spot, quiet, has a back, water view and near a café
• Save your favourite benches
• A journal of every bench you've sat on
• Works offline with benches you've already seen
• In English and Danish

No account, no sign-up and no ads. Open the app and have a seat. If you'd like your benches to follow you to a new phone, you can keep them with Apple or your email. You never have to.

Photos are for benches, not people. Faces are blurred on your phone before a photo is saved, and every photo is checked before anyone else sees it. Spot something that doesn't belong? Report it or block the person, right from the menu.

Bænk is made by one person. If you like it, you can buy the maker a coffee.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.2.2 — 2026-10-10

• Postnumre: your areas now show the postnumre you’ve been to under each kommune.
• Pioneer: add the first bench in a postnummer and you become its Pioneer. It shows on your profile and on the Progress tab.
• Sits now count the benches you visit. The rating you give when adding a bench no longer counts as a sit, so your sits and added benches each show what you’ve done.
• Your kommuner count shows how many you’ve visited.
• Each bench’s photos are easier to browse, with the best photo first.
• Benches abroad and near the German border now get the right kommune.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-10-05

Bænk is more fun with friends, and now there's something to aim for.

Follow friends
Send someone your friend link and they can follow you with one tap. See the benches your friends sit on and add in the new Friends feed, a couple of hours after – never while they're there.

Progress
A new Progress tab with titles to earn, from Bench Curious to Sitting Legend, and from Bench Spotter to Lord of the Benches. See how many of each kommune's benches you've found, and chase 25, 50 and 75%.

Also
• Profile pages for the people you follow
• Notifications when friends are out sitting, or someone follows you
• Saved benches now live on the You tab

### 1.0.2 — 2026-10-02

Bug fixes

### 1.0.1 — 2026-09-28

### 1.0 — 2026-09-28
