### 2/5 — Doyle scale

*2022-07-02*

I can’t figure out the purpose of the Doyle scale part. When entering info for a 10ft length x 20in diameter log, it is 120 lnbf. But the app says it’s 13.33. I can’t figure out what it’s calculating. What is 13.33? I’ve wanted an app similar to this for a long time and tried developing one myself but the guy couldn’t (at the time, 10-12 years ago) figure out how to put the math algorithm in and make it round properly to the correct board foot. The equation for linear board foot Doyle scale is tricky. A lot of the times it comes to a answer of 120.3 ft and they rounded down as would make sense. But other times on different footages e.g. 9ft x 16in log is 81 ft. It actually would come out to 81.7 ft but instead of rounding up,which would think to make sense, whoever invented the Doyle scale decided to round down. My guess is so there is no shortage of footage. It would be great to be able to run a tally, for a log buyer, or for the carpenter whom is buying lumber, so they can go back and look at their inventory and such. Good idea, just still confused about the Doyle scale part of the app.

### 3/5 — Change the length to feet

*2024-01-24*

Could you make an opinion to switch the length to inches to feet????

### 4/5 — No way to change inch to ft

*2022-04-12*

The app would be much better if the length was in feet.

### 5/5 — Nice!

Thank you for this easy calculator
