Board Match is a competitive strategy app where you face AI opponents across 8 classic board and deduction games -- and every match changes your ELO rating. Win against tougher opponents to climb ranks. Lose, and fight your way back. The rating system is real, the competition is relentless, and the only way to improve is to keep playing.


STRATEGY GAMES

Chess
Full FIDE rules including castling, en passant, and pawn promotion. Five AI difficulty levels, from a forgiving beginner that makes deliberate mistakes to an advanced engine that punishes every blunder. Your chess ELO is tracked independently.

Janggi (Korean Chess)
Korea's own strategic board game with its distinct piece movements and palace rules. Choose the Cho (green) or Han (red) side. Five AI levels mirror real Janggi playing styles, from defensive to aggressive.

Gomoku
Place stones to connect five in a row. Optional Renju rules for advanced players add forbidden-move restrictions that transform a simple concept into a deep tactical battle. AI scales from casual to near-optimal play.

Reversi (Othello)
Flip your opponent's discs by surrounding them. The AI understands corner strategy, edge play, and endgame disc maximization. Deceptively simple, ruthlessly deep.

Connect 4
Drop discs into a vertical grid and be the first to align four. The AI uses forward-looking search to block your setups while building its own.

Tic-Tac-Toe
Classic 3x3 and expanded 5x5 variants. The minimax AI on 3x3 is unbeatable -- see if you can force a draw. The 5x5 board opens up genuine strategic possibilities.


DEDUCTION GAMES

Number Baseball
The AI picks a secret 3- or 4-digit number. Each guess returns a strike (correct digit, correct position) and ball (correct digit, wrong position) count. Deduce the answer in the fewest attempts possible.

Mastermind
Crack a hidden color sequence using logical elimination. Each guess reveals how many colors are correct and how many are in the right position.


ELO RANKING SYSTEM

Board Match uses a proper ELO rating system -- the same mathematical framework used in international chess federations.

- Each game type maintains its own independent rating.
- Beating a stronger AI yields more rating points than beating a weaker one.
- Rank tiers progress from Beginner through Intermediate, Advanced, Expert, Master, and Grandmaster.
- Detailed statistics track your win rate, longest win streak, average moves per game, and rating history over time.

- Undo function during play lets you explore alternative lines without restarting.
