Other times there is infinite lag, the words I type simply never show up on the screen. Threads ive subscribed to are impossible to find. It is impossible to contact app support through the link in the app store. The only reason I gave it more than one star is out of loyalty to BGG, ive been a member for years. Recently it got so much worse, its nearly un-useable anymore. ### 2/5 — Need a feedback flow *2026-05-10, version 1.20.6* Got a few points. 1. Is there a better way to submit feedback about this app than updating App Store comments? 2. Caching issue. I started to edit a comment I made (to add something). Decided to just make a fresh comment, so I backed out and tapped the “reply” button instead. When I submitted my new comment, it registered as editing my old one, and deleted all previous content. 3. When coming back to the app, the text blocks are sometimes just blank. Navigating away and back doesn’t refresh. This can be particularly annoying if in the middle of a long post or geeklist. 4. The profile “top 10” cannot be edited in the app (or on mobile devices at all). It requires “click and drag,” which cannot be done with taps. ### 2/5 — No Weight Shown? *2026-05-02, version 1.20.6* How can you not show me the average weight of the game? This is a major criteria when choosing a game or researching it. Huge miss here. ### 4/5 — Great…to a point *2026-02-13* For quick lookups on the go, this is better than a mobile browser, being tweaked enough to give it an app-like feel. Read, write (some things), research, and more. It isn’t as easy as a computer, and that’s fine. This is a curated version of the site. The interface is mobile-enabled web rather than mobile front end with mobile-first choices. It isn’t luxury so much as Craigslist, but it gets me what I need, when I need it. ### 3/5 — Less Useful Than Desktop *2025-12-30* The mobile version of the app is a lot less useful than the desktop. A lot of of the features, such as a functional homepage, editing, and viewing all parts of a profile, and using all features of writing a comment are either different diminished or unavailable. One of the major bonuses of this app is that people track their board game playing statistics, but the app features those statistics differently than the desktop version. For example, the desktop version tracks the number of individual game plays, Whereas the mobile version will track game sessions. So if I play one game three times in a sitting, the desktop version will count that it’s three plays, but the mobile version will only have it show up as one session. ### 3/5 — Faltan opciones *2025-10-07, version 1.19.1* No puedes acceder a los geekbuddies y otras opciones ### 3/5 — Good but needs update *2025-07-22, version 1.18.2* It’s great to have the app on my iPad and quickly look up games, read news and forums, etc. My only pain is that I can’t log my plays in the app. I was able at first, but now whenever I click on “log play” the window pops up and closes instantly. And removing access to the BGG Catalog app that DID provide this? Um, what? Please rectify this oversight! The problem is when reading forum posts on iOS there is a bug were sometimes the posts just extend like 1000% in length. Each update this gets more prevalent and is now about 1/4 of forum posts that show up in my subscribed pages. ### 4/5 — View Options? *2025-02-17, version 1.13* Hi, great app. Works well. When I look at my collection, though, I wish I could look at it in a grid view, so I can see all the boxes together. Please fix it as soon as technical possible. ### 1/5 — Mods Have a Power Trip *2025-08-01* The mods deactivated my account for simply voicing disagreement on a hit button political issue. I never once said anything hateful or name called. I simply didn’t agree with their views and since I wouldn’t bend the knee to them, they totally deactivated my account. Terrible company if you ask me. Should not be able to just deactivate an account over something like that. ### 1/5 — Horrible Woke Moderators *2025-07-31, version 1.18.3* Disagree with anything an LGBTQ person says? It is labeled hateful/disruptive and taken down. The forums appear to be an echo chamber, but only because moderators make it so. Leave that stuff out of it! ### 1/5 — Lesser app and bullying better 3rd party app *2025-07-07* I’ve been using the 3rd party BG Catalog app which used to sync information from BGG. According to the developer of BG Catalog, BGG changed their policies and are no longer allowing the BG Catalog app to sync with BGG accounts, even though it’s not for profit. They also say that it has the same functionality as the BGG app. Too bad it’s nowhere as good as the BG catalog app. I’m in no way affiliated with the BG catalog app, just upset with BGG for being unreasonable ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Excellent for Boardgames *2026-04-03* As an avid board gamer, I find BGG truly critical to access the robust community that posts reviews, comments on rules, and a wonderful repository for community-created content for specific games. A truly special repository of board game stuff. The app allows me to access the information more easily on my phone and I have NOT had any issues.
