## What is Boat Speedometer?

HullSpeed is a clean, highly legible sailing and boating speedometer with Apple Watch and Live Activity support. It works for all activities but is designed around sailing.

Designed for quick speed checks while underway, HullSpeed gives sailors and boaters a simple, reliable marine speed readout on Apple Watch and iPhone. 

HullSpeed keeps the focus on what matters: your current BOAT SPEED. The display is large, simple, and easy to read at a glance, making it ideal for sailing, dinghy racing, cruising, or any time you want a straightforward marine speedometer without clutter. A small trend chart helps you quickly see the impact of trim changes.

HullSpeed also records your voyages so you can review your time on the water later. Saved voyages include speed, distance, duration, average speed, maximum speed, route history, and exportable CSV data.

In addition to sailing data, HullSpeed also withs with Apple Health to measure your heart rate via an Apple Watch so you can keep track of your activity at sea.

Hull Speed is a great app for anyone who spends time on the water. It’s easy to use and really helpful for planning boating trips, tracking your time on the water, and getting useful information for your boat. Simple, practical, and something I’ll definitely be using throughout the boating season. Highly recommend it for fellow boaters!

It is a good and well priced app. The only problem I have I cannot swipe to the third screen on iPhone 13 mini. It keeps scrolling the map on 2nd screen instead.

**Developer response:** Thanks for letting me know about this - I hadn't tested on the Mini. I will look into it. On my iPhone 17 pro I can scroll to the 3rd screen by tapping on the speed/distance display or the map color legend. I assumed you could do so on the mini as well. Feel free to send me an email and I can send you a beta version to test.


EDIT: I tested this on a simulated iPhone 13 mini and it works exactly the same as other devices. To navigate between the screens tap and drag on the legend at the bottom, not the map itself. If you need more help feel free to reach out to me and I can definitely help you with this.

This app works great when kayaking even though it’s designed for sailing. It’s better than the app I was paying a monthly fee to use.

Exactly what I was looking for! Accurate speed and course on the Apple Watch, no silly subscription, just a clean one-time purchase. And it works amazingly well! Kudos to the dev for building a truly useful Apple Watch app without a lot of cruft or an unnecessary subscription.

This is just what I wanted. 
A simple straightforward speedometer I could run on my Apple Watch, that won’t disappear when the screen locks, and doesn’t try to do too many fact things I don’t need. The live activity is a nice touch too. Best of all no subscriptions.
