### 4/5 — Discontinued?

*2020-02-11*

Why are there no further updates? It would be so nice, someone would continue. I saw the Git repository is unattended as well...

### 5/5 — Great core group of exercises!

*2019-03-24, version 1.7.0*

Totally understand it’s one guy who develops everything. But if you’re listening, I would love to see a progression added to squats which allows an input of additional weights.

Keep developing! It’s awesome.

I think also a splash screen to preview the entire list of exercises in the routine would be great too.

### 5/5 — Getting real fit!

*2019-03-14, version 1.7.0*

Really enjoy the workout. Used to do gymnastics/cheerleading and have been looking for a way to get back into that shape. Great exercises and simple to use. Highly recommend it!

### 5/5 — Fantastic App

*2019-01-14, version 1.7.0*

I’ve done bodyweight programs before, but never with an app that guides you through. Very easy to use and to understand. I love the fact that you can go back in and edit or view your past workouts.

The only thing I can think of to include that would be helpful is a “Finish Workout” button (or equivalent), when you’re done with your sets. Right now it almost feels a bit incomplete.

### 4/5 — Health app integration would be great

*2018-11-08, version 1.7.0*

I’ve known this app for a long time. It’s a good option for starters to figure things out, but unfortunately developer isn’t paying much of an attention.
There are no features or improvements added.
At least adding a health app integration would be really great.

### 5/5 — Where the sound to the videos

*2018-09-09, version 1.7.0*

Is their sound. I can look all day at what the screen shoes but if I’m not engaged and do not what muscles to squeeze. I’m confused.

### 5/5 — The new RR

*2018-08-19, version 1.7.0*

Will this app be updated for the new 2018 version?

### 5/5 — Recommend Routine

*2018-07-27*

The app contains the workout program “recommended routine” from reddit plus 2 stretching/mobility programs. Videos are helpful but the set counter can be improved. Also some more exercise levels could be added. Overall tremendous app tho! Just what I was looking for

### 5/5 — My go to.

*2018-05-03, version 1.7.0*

My go to for my current bodyweight exercise routine.

### 5/5 — Good

*2018-04-01, version 1.7.0*

Does what it says

### 5/5 — Helpful

*2018-03-20, version 1.7.0*

Good explanations of exercises. Simple to track progress and improve!
Get those gainz ;)

### 5/5 — Great app! Love the design.

*2018-03-19, version 1.7.0*

Seen great results in the few weeks since I've started this program. In terms of design, I prefer this over other body weight fitness apps out there.

Ideas for improvements: Anyway to keep the timer running while the app is minimized? Also, a change in background color or other visual cue for when the timer is running would be amazing! Keep up the good work.

### 4/5 — Recommended Routine

*2018-03-17, version 1.7.0*

This app is very functional.

I would request a few updates to get it to 5 stars:

1. Make it more intuitive to add sets, perhaps remembering if you did this last time to pre-populate the field.

2. Follow the r/bodyweight fitness recommendations more closely. In particular, the ability to set rests to 90 seconds, as well as adding in the skin the cat progression that is now recommended.

3. There should be an option to skip rests.

4. Apple Activity integration for Apple Watch.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Does not allow timer tracking

*2026-05-16, version 1.7.0*

I am requesting a refund for this app. I am not able to process that in the App Store or through Report a Problem channels. My impression of this app was that I would be able to log custom exercises using a timer.

That was not what was delivered. Please refund my purchase as the description and advertising was misleading.

### 1/5 — Bad really bad

*2018-06-19, version 1.7.0*

Not easy to follow at all. Cannot understand the movement clearly. Exercises not clearly shown. Plain bad. You could have just shown the exercises with simple diagrams and been 10 times more efficient. Useless app

### 1/5 — Useful, but very specialized and app going through growing pains

*2016-05-13*

Useful, but very specialized and app going through growing pains. Interaction is pretty awkward. Weak exercise tracking functionality and really once you have done the stuff 2 times you do not need the app at all.

### 2/5 — Clumsy

*2018-08-11, version 1.7.0*

Great fitness program. Good app but I find it clumsy. The sound doesn't work but I don't need it and I have music going anyway. Would be awesome if you could set your activities, reps, rest and press play.

### 2/5 — Needs a how to use page or a tutorial

*2017-07-29, version 1.5.1*

When I first downloaded the app it gave me a list of each exercise and the full length video to watch in app, but now I no longer see that list and can only see videos when I start a workout. The FAQ is only related to the recommended routine and not the app (which makes sense) and the reddit thread containing info about the iOS app hasn't been updated in 2 years and does not contain a tutorial. The idea is nice, but if I have to keep leaving the app to watch videos why even have the app? I might as well just use my browser.

### 3/5 — Not updated?

*2020-05-16, version 1.7.0*

Great app, but I don’t think it’s updated with the current version of the recommended workout?

I was expecting shrimp squats, tucked hanging leg raises, etc., but I didn’t see those in the app. I feel a bit silly paying for it now, since I’ve been following the newer version.

### 3/5 — Can’t export data

*2017-10-10, version 1.5.1*

The app is great but I can’t export the data anymore. I’m on iOS 11.01.

I hope for a fix.

### 4/5 — Excellent quality, needs an update

*2020-12-29, version 1.7.0*

The Recommended Routine has changed, and I have been using the newer version, so this app requires some adjustments to my routine. For example, there are lots more options in the squat and pull up progressions now, but the app doesn’t reflect them. No place for my shrimp squats to go.

### 4/5 — Needs to be updated to current RR

*2020-07-09, version 1.7.0*

Great app, visually pleasing, pretty easy to navigate the UI. All the developer needs to do is update it to the current RR with ALL progressions and it will be perfect.

### 4/5 — Great app but out of date

*2020-05-19, version 1.7.0*

Great UI, excellent visual aides. I do wish it would be updated to work with the new RR. That said this is a full body workout and will show improvements if you stick with it!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Best app for recommended routine

*2022-06-09, version 1.7.0*

This app is awesome and it walks you through reddit’s r/bodyweightfitness recommended routine. It also has videos of each exercise progress and provides workout tracking. My only requests, that are merely nice-to-haves, are for a 45 second rest option and a ~3 second delay between starting a timer for an exercise and the timer actually starting. It often takes me a few seconds after starting a timer to get into position and start the exercise, so the delay would be nice. Ultimately, fantastic app.

### 5/5 — Great workout

*2022-04-27, version 1.7.0*

Really kicks my butt. I’m old and fat but takes it at a level where even I can manage it. Might seem like no big deal in the moment (8 push-ups?) but I definitely feel it next day. Slow and measured workout is the best!

### 5/5 — Tempei Sato

*2022-01-23, version 1.7.0*

Tempei Sato

### 5/5 — Could use an update but still excellent

*2021-08-05, version 1.7.0*

I would like the app to have options to track all of the routines in r/Bodyweightfitness … I still like the routine in app but just request for more options!

### 5/5 — Solid Workout - Experiment for Optimal Results

*2020-09-15, version 1.7.0*

Take the time to use this app and you will see results. I recommend you only do what you need for the number of reps and adjust as you understand your body

### 5/5 — Exceptional! Thank you for this app.

*2020-09-04, version 1.7.0*

Very Easy to use and very much appreciated the work that was put into it.

### 5/5 — Kein Sound

*2020-01-29*

Die App bietet für jede Übung ein Video wo demonstriert wird wie diese auszuführen ist aber leider gibt es keinen Sound.

### 5/5 — Best free workout app

*2019-10-28, version 1.7.0*

This is the best free workout app. The accompanying Reddit site provides all the rationale.

### 5/5 — Great fitness app

*2019-08-22, version 1.7.0*

Great app for becoming fit. Make sure diet is thought out for optimal results

### 5/5 — Great App, but please update!!!

*2019-04-20, version 1.7.0*

This is a great fitness app, but please do update accordingly to the latest changes on the Reddit sub community. Thanks in advance!!!
