The app runs well, and I've encountered no technical issues in my time playing it.  The interface and animations are a bit dated, but that's too be expected from a decade old app.  I'm just glad the developer seems to sell be supporting it.

The Duel is not as great of a game as Bhonanza, but it scratches the itch. I found the in-game tutorial to be kind of confusing, but there's a link in the app to a rules PDF that was much easier for me to understand. Still, there are a few nuances to this game that even a seasoned Bhonanza player will need to adjust to. Bluffing, bohnus cards, gifting, and the turn steps are all massive departures from the original game. But after a few games, I was finally able to figure out a winning strategy.

Worth the reasonably low price at the time of this review (2025). But if a full Bohnanza app is ever released, I can't see myself coming back to this one.

Wenn der Gegner einem eine Karte geben will, und man ihm stattdessen eine ander geben will, kommt des öfteren einfach die Bestätigung und man bekommt die ungewollte Karte vom Gegner. Das trübt den Spielspaß, man kann das auch nicht rückgängig machen

まったく連絡ありません。
知っていれば圧倒的有利です。
いわゆる「ズル」です。
受け取る３枚のカードが分かり、
やり直しができます。
知ってると知っていないとでは
勝敗に差が出ます。
俺は知ってしまったので、
改善されなければやめます。
相手も「使ってる？」の疑心暗鬼、
俺にも「使ってる？」の疑念しか
ありません。
せっかく世界ランキング１位になったのに。

改善されたらまた遊びたいと思います。

This game is not very user friendly at all! The tutorial leaves a lot unexplained and my game keeps freezing or I get stuck and have no idea where to find help. The old Bohnananza app was excellent. I miss it.

Das Spiel an sich ist witzig, gut umgesetzt und spaßig. 
Aber ich kann nicht glauben, dass der Bug, dass man keine 2 Spiele hintereinander spielen kann, ohne das Spiel neu zu laden immer noch nicht behoben ist. 

SEIT EINEM JAHR! 
Ich finde, dass ist schon fast Betrug. Zu wissen, dass ein Spiel an einem Grundpfeiler fehlerhaft ist, es nicht zu beheben, das Spiel aber weiterhin zu verkaufen. 

Nur deshalb ein Punkt.

In the tutorial after a certain point it always just stops and there’s no prompt, no help, no indication of what you do next. I ended up just touching every point on the screen and still nothing happened. And when you’re playing the game there aren’t very many visual clues as to how to progress. I ended up again just touching different parts of the screen to see if anything would happen because there was no clue as to what I was supposed to do or how to do it. I’ve even played the card game in real life before but the app does a terrible job of telling you what phase you’re in, and how to trade cards or plant them or do literally anything. It’s visually messy, overwhelming to look at and confounding.

I really love this game but I have encountered 2 very irritating bugs.  First after the game is over there is no way to immediately get rid of the Wanted Poster screen at the end of the game.  The quit game button does not clear it or really do anything only way to get rid of it is to wait an unknown amount of time or restart your device.  This does not make for good binge playing.  Also, I can not connect this game with The Gamecenter.  Would have given this game a much higher review if problems are fixed.

You can play one round, and the game is very fun and very like the card game. But then the result won’t clear from the screen and so no more games can be played!
It’s a one trick pony!!

Gameplay läuft soweit ganz gut, aber der Balken aus dem vorigen Spiel (wer gewonnen hat) verschwindet nicht und überdeckt das nächste Spiel wenn man die App nicht schließt (beendet) und neustartet. Das ist ein wenig lästig, daher der Punktabzug, aber ansonsten recht funktional.

Unverständlich, wie kann es sein, dass eine App Geld kostet und man nicht mal das Tutorial ohne bugs spielen kann? 
Bohnanza ist so ein Hammer spiel, aber diese App ist einfach nur eine Riesen Frechheit! Ich spiele auf dem iPad 2018 und trotzdem klappt die App nicht! 
Ich kann keine einzige Karte legen!!!!!!!
Leute, spart euch das Geld, das sieht man nie wieder....

ich sehe ständig die karten des anderen 
das spiel hängt bonus karten können nicht ausgewählt werden um sie weg zu tun sondern es bleiben immer dieselben 
ich hab 3€ für das spiel ausgegeben und würde mir wünschen das es wenigstens funktioniert

The game does not work as intended. The player can’t receive a gift card from the AI player. Tried playing multiple times and the human player never receives the gift card. Impossible to win. The AI constantly cheats. Waste of money.

Offenbar liegt es an mir, da es sonst niemand hier erwähnt. Ich schaffe schon das Tutorial nicht, weil ich nicht weiß, wie ich besagte Karte abwerfen kann. Kann jemand helfen? Wo muss ich drücken oder wohin muss ich die Karte schieben?

If you enjoy the card game you will like the app. The tutorial is terrible, but once you get the hang of it, it’s great.

Ich habe fast alle Varianten von Bohnanza als Kartenspiel zu Hause, mir fehlt leider nurnoch das Bohnanza Würfelspiel. Keine Ahnung wo man das her bekommt, ich finde es nirgendwo. Jetzt zum Handyspiel. Es ist sehr gut gemacht, auch das man das Tempo des Spiels einstellen kann ist gut. Ich habe mal die anderen Rezensionen gelesen und eine gefunden wo bemängelt wird das man eine Karte zum handeln gegenbietet und das nicht immer geht und man dann nicht „zurückspulen“ kann, das stimmt nicht, auf dem Bildschirm links unten ist ein Kreis mit Pfeil, der spult den letzten Schritt zurück. So kann man das Versehen beheben. 

Ich würde mir wünschen noch alle anderen Teile der Bohnanza Reihe auf dem Handy spielen zu können und ein Multiplayer Modus wäre richtig gut. 

Alles in allem sowohl als Kartenspiel zu Hause, als auch auf dem Handy ein super durchdachtes und schönes Spiel. 

Ps: Liebes Bohnanza Team, wenn ihr bei euch im Lager noch das Würfelspiel und eine Jubiläumsbox rumliegen habt würde ich mich freuen wenn ihr euch meldet. Natürlich bezahle ich den Originalpreis dafür!

This is a great game, and translates into an enjoyable phone/iPad version. The bugs reported in previous reviews appear to have been fixed. I have played the one and two player versions, both of which are really good fun. Great stuff, five stars!

I struggled a little bit at the beginning with the interface, but once I understood how everything works it became my favorite app! Not too complicated, more an efficiency puzzle. I finally start to beat the easy AI!
