Sure it might be more expensive but it definitely saves you the headache of wondering if the meter is still running on your scooter. My SPIN scooter locked up in a place that I wasn’t “allowed” to park it at and thus forced me to drag a scooter (whilst beeping and telling me I needed to Unlock it) to an appropriate drop off point BOLT on the other hand, just charges you as you go thus forgoing any uncertainty about that kind of thing. Enjoyed my time for sure.
