It gives cheap rides, ETA on your phone, upfront pricing. However, drivers do cancel on you very regularly, leaving you waiting for 20-30 minutes until one actually comes to you ### 3/5 — Hit or miss *2026-08-25, version 247.0* I have used Bolt for several years and continue to do so because it is better than the alternatives. That said I have increasingly had bad experiences with drivers who accept a ride and the drop it after a few minutes. Tell me why they have rescheduled my ride 2 DIFFERENT times in 1 order and when he did come, he literally didn’t even bother coming back, we confirmed wihh to him the name, he saw there was 5 of us, we booked XL so its suitable for all of us. He literally came, said be was gonna turn around and come back, and didn’t, and he didn’t even cancel the ride, and if we tried, they were gonna charge us a cancellation fee. THEN we booked it again bc it was cheaper than uber, the driver was originally 14 minutes then 18 minutes, i asked an dhe said it was due to traffic, when he reached 8 minutes away, IT LITERALLY CANCELLED AND WAS ROUTING FOR A NEW DRIVER. ANOTHER ONE, 5 minutes before i booked the new one, we booked an XL for 5 ppl, the guy looked at us, automatically cancelled? are we racist now. Absolutely ridiculous, please never download this app and just stick to Uber or the busses/trains. ### 1/5 — DO NOT USE THIS APP *2026-08-22, version 246.0* Reserved a ride to the airport from my bnb app said that a driver was chosen and they would be there but the rude was cancelled without warning leading to us being late for our flight, stick with uber ### 1/5 — Avoid Bolt in Baku - especially if you are travelling with family *2026-08-21* My experience with Bolt in Baku has been absolutely unacceptable. Drivers repeatedly accepted my bookings and then cancelled, wasting a huge amount of our limited holiday time. This happened multiple times, including while I was travelling with my wife and young child in the heat. On top of that, I was charged/lost money on several occasions despite rides not being completed properly. What made the experience even worse was Bolt’s so-called customer support. You are pushed through an AI chatbot, and when you finally request a human agent, someone appears, sends generic copy-paste apologies such as “we are sorry” and “we will look into this,” then closes the conversation. No meaningful investigation, no accountability and no real resolution. For a tourist in a foreign country, reliable transportation and customer support are basic expectations. Instead, Bolt caused stress, wasted our sightseeing time and left me repeatedly trying to find another car while travelling with my family. I eventually stopped using Bolt and used a local taxi service instead, which was far more straightforward. Based on my experience, I strongly advise international tourists and families visiting Baku not to depend on Bolt, especially for airport transfers, time-sensitive plans or travelling with children. A cheap displayed fare means nothing if drivers keep cancelling and customer support does not actually solve problems. One of the worst ride-hailing experiences I have had while travelling. **Developer response:** Hi there, That should never have happened with cancelled bookings and charges when rides weren’t completed. We will keep working to make your trips smoother! ### 1/5 — Very very bad *2026-08-21, version 246.0* I absolutely don’t recommend anywhere. ### 1/5 — Drivers are terrible *2026-08-21, version 246.0* Had two experiences with bolt and both times the drivers have taken forever (over 20 mins when it said 5 mins) to pick me up, they turn down the wrong roads and it’s frustrating waiting. On my first ride the driver dropped me a 10 min walk away and I just didn’t bother saying it was wrong as he already took ages to pick me up and drop me off. Delete it. Refund all the money and get rid of this app. If you cannot handle the most fundamental things, do not need to try to improve it anymore. Just quit! Unfortunately the driver after accepting the 35min ride (they were 4 min away) then didn’t move for 6 mins then moved in circles and then away from the pickup point also parking several times ( not at lights or junctions but in parks) after approx 16 mins I cancelled the ride. Frustrating that they seemed to want me to cancel to get a different (maybe shorter?) ride. I used another app for the same journey and had a good experience. Update: developer agreed this was unacceptable driver behaviour. No indication of any action or improvement planned. Still minimum star review. Update 2: bolt requested I contact support to report the issue. Another waste of my time. A ride cost me £25 for a return trip and they drove off once and the first location TWICE, no refund or action has taken place on the first situation and a £2 refund for a £25 ride has been issued on the second.
