A couple of features that would improve the functionality of this app include providing “watering” needs as an additional input for each tree in the same way it allows “fertilizer” requirements to be recorded per tree. Also the ability to include short videos in the photo section would allow the owner to record valuable “Sensei advice” when needed. ### 5/5 — Great App and Great Customer Service *2020-05-28, version 3.7* This app is great; it’s simple to use and allows you to track all sorts of things. The simplicity of the design makes it an efficient tool. The developer is also very responsive. There was a bug that was causing problems and he was quick to acknowledge the bug and resolve it. ### 4/5 — Da bekommt man was für sein Geld! *2020-04-09* Ich muss sagen mit dieser App ist den Entwicklern ein großer Wurf gelungen! Ja, ja sie ist teuer, aber hier geht es mir wie beim Essen im Restaurant. Ist es teuer und schmeckt nicht, dann ist der Ärger groß... schmeckt es bezahle ich auch gern einen angemessenen Preis. Da die App alles hat, gut funktioniert, ist der Preis unter dem Strich auch in Ordnung. Warum gibt es nur 4 Sterne? Die Synchronisation mit dem IPHONE über die Apple Cloud ist meines Erachtens unbedingt nötig. Wäre klasse wenn das bald kommen würde! Was noch erwähnt werden sollte, mit der „lite“ Version kann man vor dem kauf ausprobieren ob die App den eigenen Vorstellungen gerecht wird... und das kostenlos! Toll! Nachtrag 19.02.2020 Leider ist ein Teil der App im Dunkel-Modus auf dem Ipad nicht lesbar und damit nicht nutzbar! Dies bitte bald ändern! Vielen Dank im Voraus an die Entwickler! Love being able to quickly and easily see the progression photos of each individual tree. When a glitch has happened developer has been super responsive. Great that you can buy once and install on both iphone and ipad and sync. Records are always at hand, even when I’m away from home. ### 5/5 — Brilliant Software *2020-03-23, version 3.6* I'm new to bonsai and needed a way to record my trees and their progress. Bonsai Album does just that, easily. Drop down menus display the Latin species when you type in the common name which is a bonus. Add as many photos as needed to record each tree's progress. Easily replicate the whole database from Mac to iOS wirelessly. Bonsai Album is what everyone one needs to keep track of your collection. ### 5/5 — Bonsai recordkeeping *2020-01-04, version 3.5* This is a great program. No more 3x5 note cards; no more separate photos. It’s all in one program. Write up your actions for future reference; make calendar events for future action. Track your trees, your pots, and your actions. Just wish they had option to record stands, viewing stones, or something that you have a further interest in. Saves a lot of time and effort! ### 4/5 — Einfach klasse *2019-12-31* Ich finde die App super, bietet alles was man braucht und man kann alles erfassen und verliert nichts aus dem Auge. Wie schon erwähnt wurde, wäre die iCloud Unterstützung sehr wünschenswert, um die App auf allen Geräten immer auf dem gleichen Stand zu haben. Ist derzeit mit dem Backup über AirDrop etwas umständlich. Aber alles in allem eine super App und Unterstützung beim Hobby Bonsai. ### 5/5 — Excellent *2019-07-07, version 3.4* An excellent app for keeping track of the development of my trees. I use it almost daily but especially when I repot, trim and/or wire. It is very useful to know how my trees change over time. And a photograph doesn’t lie. A great recording app! ### 5/5 — Just about Perfect *2018-07-07, version 3.4* This app lets you track pretty much everything imaginable for bonsai. It has preloaded categories to track (fertilized, repotted, etc.) and provides the option to add your own custom categories. The photo tracking is intuitive, though I haven’t found a way to sort photos by date to track progress over time. (You can link photos to your log, so it’s possible to do. I just don’t know a way to sort in photo view other than manually.) As a database, this app is awesome. When you update anything, everything linked is updated. So if you change the name of a pot, the app automatically updates the bonsai linked to that pot. Basically, the app “just works.” The only thing I might add is a way to create notes or logs on a global scale. For instance, I’d like a way to create one note that I fertilized all trees of a species on the same date and have the log available under each tree. This isn’t a dealbreaker to me though — bonsai is a slow, meticulous journey, and each plant demands its own care. Perhaps it’s best to take 30 seconds and write a journal entry for every tree, every time. :) Disclaimer: I’m just beginning my bonsai journey. So there may be a formal method of journaling that I’m not aware of. However, this app is well-organized as a database app, and fits my needs perfectly. ### 5/5 — Invaluable tool *2018-07-01, version 3.4* Totally changed my world with bonsai. Helps keep me more organized and on top of my tree’s states and needs. Thank you for this and please keep developing it further. ### 5/5 — Fantastic app *2018-05-26, version 3.4* It really works! iPhone, iPad and backup to PC. Easy to use and logically arranged. Full and well laid out printing of database from the bonsai report on the PC. For what this app does it is great value, have it on my iPhone and iPad with manual backup and restore to each. Hopefully Andrew will have sync facility in a future version. Storing pots, trees and keeping a log with reminders are very easy and intuitive. Certainly not worth $10 ### 1/5 — Could be so much better *2014-06-09, version 2.2* This app has a lot of great features that I find very usefull but the biggest letdown is the fact that you cannot backup via a cloud feature your latest updates. I use my phone to take photos of my bonsai as I work on them and like to update my database on my laptop. The fact that my iOS and OS devices cannot communicate via cloud update does my head-in and therefore I never use this app anymore. For the price that you pay for it and also that so many apps now use clouds as backup I would not recommend to purchase this app. Hopefully the developer will work something out and bring his app to the standard it should be at. Similarly for tracking my pots. The only addition I would like is a bonsai stand tab to keep track of Jiita etc that I’ve purchased. I have found it extremely helpful in maintaining details and information for each tree. The latest update was good and made things easier for the user. I find recording details of pots a bit time consuming but the effort will be worth it in the end One modification I would like to suggest is to make "style" user adaptable. I live in the Southern Hemisphere and our styles don't always follow northern hemisphere dictates and it would be great to be able to be able to have styles that are relevant to us. Having just finished recording details of my pots, a couple of further suggestions.
