## What is Boogie Mail?

Boogie is the native JMAP mail, calendar and contacts client — built on JMAP 1.0, the protocol that replaces IMAP. It's the only client that treats JMAP as a first-class citizen: mail, calendar, contacts, push, scheduling and multi-account support are all native.

Works with any JMAP 1.0 server — Stalwart, Fastmail, or any RFC 8620 / 8621 provider. Bring your own server; Boogie doesn't care which.

• One-step sign-in — connect with your provider's secure web login, no server addresses or tokens to hunt down
• Native JMAP 1.0 — mail, calendar and contacts, no IMAP fallback
• Calendar with client-side iTIP invitations; day / week / month views
• JMAP contact sync, plus Apple Contacts read locally for recipient autocomplete
• Server-side Sieve filters and vacation auto-reply
• Multi-account with auto-discovery of sibling JMAP accounts
• WebSocket push for real-time sync
• Undo send, scheduled send, message templates
• HTML signatures, font picker, multi-message forward, Send Again
• Spotlight indexing
• 41 languages, including right-to-left (Arabic, Hebrew, Persian, Urdu, Syriac)
• Universal Purchase — one payment unlocks iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac

Privacy first: Boogie keeps your mail on your device. No telemetry, no analytics, no third-party SDKs. Apple Contacts are read locally for recipient autocomplete and never uploaded; your JMAP mail, calendar and contacts live on your own server — never ours.

14-day full-feature trial; after that, read-only mode unless you subscribe.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4.2 — 2026-07-23

Set up your account in seconds with the new sign-in wizard. Enter your email address, sign in through your provider's secure web login, and Boogie does the rest — no server addresses, no pasted tokens. Works with Fastmail, Stalwart and other OAuth-capable JMAP servers, and manual setup is still there whenever you need it.

This release also improves new-mail notifications for messages from your other signed-in accounts, and temporarily removes Siri Shortcuts and App Intents while we rework them for a future update.

### 1.4.1 — 2026-07-03

Boogie 1.4.1 — fixes and refinements.

• Downloads, fixed — attachments, inline images, and message source no longer fail with "Invalid username or password" on Fastmail. The JMAP spec routes downloads through whichever host your server advertises; Boogie was more conservative with your credentials than the spec intends, and now matches it exactly. Verified on Fastmail and Stalwart.
• Calendar corrections — invitation replies now always send from the account that was invited, each account shows its own RSVP status correctly, and agenda views no longer shift by hours in some time zones. Plus a series of smaller scheduling fixes.
• Attach from Files, fixed — on iPhone and iPad, files picked from iCloud Drive or another app's storage now attach reliably.
• Identity settings honoured — a custom Reply-To and archive Bcc are now applied on every send. Plus further hardening from a deep review against the JMAP and calendar specifications.

New in 1.4, in case you missed it:

• Contacts, built in — view and edit your address book right inside Boogie, synced over JMAP. Your edits are written back faithfully, field for field.
• Shared & delegated mailboxes — Boogie now shows every mailbox your login can reach, including shared and sub-accounts, and respects read-only or full read-write access automatically.
• Server-side filters (Sieve) — create rules that run on your mail server, so your inbox is sorted before it ever reaches your devices.
• Read receipts — request and respond to read receipts when you need confirmation a message landed.
• One-step account setup — Boogie now finds your server automatically, so adding an account needs little more than your address and password.
• Markdown, beautifully rendered — messages written in Markdown display as clean, formatted text.
• Drag and drop — move messages and attachments the way you'd expect, on Mac and iPad.

No analytics, no ad SDKs, no third-party services. Your mail, contacts, and calendar stay on your device and your server.
