## What is Book Cover Planner?

Book Cover Planner helps indie authors and self-publishers plan paperback cover files before they start designing.

Create saved book projects with page count, trim size, paper profile, notes, checklist status, and reusable production notes. Use the bundled trim and paper defaults, or add your own local trim sizes and spine multipliers for printers and paper stocks you use often.

The workspace calculates full wrap cover width and height, spine width, bleed, safe margin targets, millimeters, and 300 DPI pixel dimensions. A live scaled diagram marks the back cover, spine, front cover, bleed field, safe margins, and spine clear zones so you can sanity-check the layout before opening your design tool.

Copy the dimensions, open the iOS share sheet with a local text summary, or save a production note with the project for later proofing. The bundled offline reference checklist covers bleed, spine text threshold, safe margins, page-count limits, DPI export, proof-copy checks, and printer-template verification.

Use the results in Canva, Affinity, Photoshop, InDesign, or another layout tool when preparing a paperback cover for print-on-demand workflows.

The app works offline and does not require an account. It does not upload files, create cover art, or replace the final printer template. Saved projects and custom presets stay on your device. Always verify your finished file against the current requirements from your publishing platform or printer before ordering proof copies.
