This app was working perfectly fine until yesterday. Now when I open it, there’s just a black screen saying “Please update”. I can’t, because the latest version required iOS 16! Now I can’t access any of the books I paid for. I don’t understand why they can’t just keep the older version active for those of us who don’t get new devices every year. Return them. **Developer response:** As the transition of the BOOK☆WALKER Global service, titles purchased from the former BOOK☆WALKER Global Store can no longer be viewed in the BOOK☆WALKER Store or app. If you would like to continue reading titles purchased from the former BOOK☆WALKER Global Store, please use the BookWalker store and app provided by M12 Media LLC. ### 1/5 — 4月UP以降、iPadOS版でネットワーク接続不可エラーで使用不能になりました。 *2026-05-02* iPadOS 16.7.15 の初代iPadPro(9.7inch) Wi-Fi版を使用しております。2026年4月のアップデート以降、ログインしても「ネットワークが接続出来ません」とエラーが出るようになり本の閲覧が出来ません。 勿論設定を確認してもそんな設定はしておらず、理不尽に使用不可能になりました。 もう10年以上利用しており、購入した書籍が無駄になりました。無輪サポートサイトを拝見しましたが、見当違いの内容の記載しかなく、こちらも読むだけ無駄でした。勿論アプリの削除、再インストールも効果はありません。 Bookwalkerは、初期のユーザーイベントで仕様の検討会にも参加させていただきましたが、こんな形で裏切られました。今月末をもって読み放題サービスも解約します。今後の新刊はAmazon Kindleに完全移行します。 購入済みの書籍はWebブラウザー版で閲覧し、結局iPadOSアプリ版は使い物にならないのでアンインストールしました。正直☆はつける価値すら全く有りませんが、付けられる点数が☆一つしかないので、遺憾ながら1つだけつけざるを得ませんでした。 2026/4/25追記: 結論として、Ver.7.8.9で起動不可エラーだけは解消されました。しかしサーバーに保存した本棚データをリストアして不具合直前の状態に本棚を修正するもフリーズ→アプリ再起動を繰り返す為に本棚復帰不可で使い物にならない状況には変わりません。結局再アンインストールしました。軽視削減優先で最低限のリグレッションテストすら省略する点は、インフラ軽視した同グループのニコニコ動画と同様です。私もこれ以上の被害を避ける為、所持しているコインを使い切りったら二度とBookwalker で課金はしません。せめて購入済書籍のepub化が出来れば見直してやらなくはありませんが…。組織が落ちぶれる時はあっという間でしたね。 **Developer response:** コメントを更新いただき、ありがとうございます。 また、起動はできたものの、本棚を編集時、アプリがフリーズし再起動を繰り返すとのこと、ご不便をおかけし、申し訳ございません。 本棚を復元しようとすると、アプリが落ちるといったご報告を、他のお客様から1件いただいており、現在、調査を進めております。 まったく同じ挙動ではございませんが、ご指摘の事象と関連する可能性も考えられます。 要因の特定にいたる際には、改修に取り組む所存でございます。 このたびは、アプリの挙動を通し、失望させてしまう結果となりましたこと、深くお詫び申し上げます。 ### 1/5 — 文字が正常に表示されない、ダウンロードしてもオフラインで読めない *2026-03-31, version 7.8.5* コミックを読んでる時は気にならなかったのですが、ラノベだと「あ"(濁点付あ)」みたいな特殊な文字は表示されません。 Webブラウザ版ではしっかり表示できているのでこちらでもどうとでもできるでしょうに。 物語に浸っていたのに突然の◼︎で一気に引き戻されて悲しいです。 初回の読み初めでフォントのダウンロードしてたので、設定でアプリフォントに変えたらいけるのか？って試しましたがダメでした。 ラノベでは特殊な文字が割と出てくるのでこの辺をしっかりして欲しいです。 ついでに、ダウンロードしたのに完全オフラインだと認証やら何やらで読めないの勘弁してくれ。 しばらく電波入らない環境にいる時の楽しみとしてダウンロードして準備したのに何も読めなかったぞ。 せめて一度認証したら1〜2週間は読める様にしてくれ。 ### 1/5 — This app is a scam *2026-02-26* When I’m trying to read a manga, it doesn’t work it only lets you look at five pages and then it just doesn’t let you read the rest of it and mind you. It just skipped straight into one chapter all the way at the end or beginning and it doesn’t let you read the rest for instants. I’m trying to read volumes six of chainsaw man so when I press on it, it just keeps on skipping over to the end when I’m trying to read it I deleted a completely good app just for this app because I wanted to read it with color but I’m gonna download a bag manga plus because it’s better. I have bought many paper books in the past and never complained about them having some misspelling etc even after new editions came out. Better integration between the website and the app would make the experience smoother but even with this minor hiccup, this app is great. I would love for a function to be at it that would allow you to automatically create bookshelf entries for each individual series. Hopefully, the developers will see this and make it happen. ### 5/5 — 電子書籍アプリで一番使いやすい *2025-10-13, version 7.8.3* 電子書籍が始まった頃よりSony Reader,Kindle,Kobo,eBookjapan,honto,BookLiveと色々使ってきましたが、BOOK WALKERが機能が多彩で本棚機能もかなり優秀なので一番使いやすく、ユーザーの声も一番取り入れてくれているようですので、現在はこちらをメインに本を購入しています。 一時、小説の同期に不具合がありましたが、改善希望を出していたらいつの間にか解消されているようで、現在、機能的にもアプリの動作としても、とても満足しています。 改善希望としては、購入冊数が1万冊を超え、読み終えた本も読了本棚を作って入れているので1本棚999冊だと足らなくなってきました。現状たいした問題ではないのですが、本棚に入れる上限を増やしてもらえると助かります。 ### 5/5 — Great for people outside Japan *2025-10-01* Great app for Japanese language speakers living outside Japan since you don’t need to use a VPN to read Japanese ebooks. The app itself is self-explanatory, easy to use, and has an extremely diverse range of material to choose from. Love using it to be honest, and it’s great to see the developers give the app regular updates that aim to improve performance. My only criticism is that not being able to copy and paste phrases into my own dictionary app is a bit annoying since the Apple one is… not great.
