I think this would have been a great app for people who speak that language. ### 2/5 — In a different language *2022-04-22, version 3.1.6* I only started today and I can’t even sign up for the app. This needs to be fixed. The amount of try’s I have done to get in is terrible.I can’t even understand what it is saying. Mijn ogen zijn niet meer van de jongsten. Maar met andere boeken op mijn ipadmini heb ik geen problemen. And also getting the latest months’ books on my shelf. And all the advice I get is to delete and upload the app again. Katy ### 2/5 — Great value, poor delivery. *2018-08-22, version 2.0.8* The value for money can't be argued with when you consider however many books you receive a month. Some will complain that it's a bit of a lottery but that's part of the charm; it enables you to read diverse material. It's a shame the delivery method let's Bookchoice down. The reading app doesn't have something as simple as a Sepia mode. The real deal breaker comes in the audiobook app. Every time you go back to it, looking to pick up where you left off, you'll find yourself back at the start of the current chapter. You'll either spend five minutes skipping through parts already listened to or have a photo gallery full of screenshots to remind you where you were. Unless the app improves, I won't be renewing my subscription. ### 4/5 — Fine application for reading Bookchoice’s boos *2018-06-29, version 2.0.7* Why not 5? I enjoy listening to the audiobooks while driving and cooking. Nice app! ### 3/5 — Some issues... *2018-05-27, version 2.0.6* Been using the app for a few days and noticed that it normally stops playing audiobooks at the end of every chapter, making me reopen the app, open audiobooks then selecting the book again. Once it start playing, it will normally restart about half way through the chapter I just listened to, so quite frustrating... I’m not good with words, I can only say I enjoyed it immensely ### 3/5 — Nice app but formatting is awful *2018-03-21, version 2.0.3* Downloaded a book and noticed that there were large spaces between lines. Made it hard to read. Thought it might be the way the book was set out so downloaded a sample for kindle, also on my ipad. That was perfectly formatted so it must be something wrong with the way the app formats pages. Shame, but for me unusable. Reply to developer: Thank you for responding. I already had adjusted it to the smallest font, and allowed it to complete ‘resizing to screen size’, but the issue persisted. ### 3/5 — Suggestion *2018-03-14, version 2.0.3* It’s a good app with a good book (or so I can tell so far in). Perhaps a suggestion would be that when you tap the screen with the text on it, the toolbars above would disappear? It’s a bit distracting and I assumed it already did that, but it didn’t😅 ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Hoofdstukken worden overgeslagen en verkeerde boeken spelen af *2025-11-19, version 4.5.9* Na meerdere keren contact opnemen met de support heb ik het opgegeven en mijn abonnement opgezegd. Sinds de wijziging naar de nieuwe app zijn er continu problemen met het afspelen van de audioboeken in de app en die worden niet opgelost. Heel jammer! ### 1/5 — Algemeen *2025-03-19, version 4.3.8* Nog altijd problemen blijft boeken afspelen die al uit downloads zijn verwijderd ### 1/5 — Waardeloos sinds update *2021-07-21, version 3.1.1* Sinds de laatste update kan je via de IPad geen luisterboeken meer downloaden of beluisteren. Dit ging voorheen meestal prima, al onthield de app niet altijd het hoofdstuk. ### 1/5 — Compleet waardeloos op Ipad *2021-04-17, version 2.0.9* Selectie van boeken top, maar onbruikbaar op Ipad. In elk boek loop je minstens een tiental keer vast. Onvoorstelbaar dat je met zo’n geklungel durft apple klanten benaderen. Meest frustrerende applicatie ooit. Jammer want de boekkeuze is best ok, maar op een fiets met twee platte banden valt niet te rijden. ### 1/5 — App slaat vooruitgang niet op *2021-02-03, version 2.0.9* De app onthoudt niet meer waar je gebleven bent in je ebook/luisterboek. Elke keer start hij weer met het begin van het boek. ### 1/5 — Fed Up! *2018-10-12, version 2.0.9* If you have previously used Audible then this a very unsophisticated beta version. It didn't work on mu iphone4 so I bought an iPhone 5. it worked ok for a time but since the latest update it cuts out all the time and you have to reboot. I got to the stage where it wouldn't load any audio so I deleted app and the October choices are not loaded.No weekend support so I find myself on holiday without any books. Time to return to Audible I think. ### 1/5 — Voorlees tempo niet te doen *2018-08-08* Ongetwijfeld goed boek maar niet als audio Voorlees stijl traag en zonder enig ritme en dus niet te volgen ### 1/5 — Search option *2018-06-29, version 2.0.7* Your app doesn’t give an option to search for a book that one would prefer. ### 1/5 — Sign up policy needs to change. *2018-03-09, version 2.0.2* Was going to try your service as I have a 8 book trial, can't sign up without leaving a credit card and signing up to a 12 month subscription. ### 1/5 — Continuously stops playing *2018-03-06, version 2.0.2* When listening to books it randomly turns off I have amended the setting to an hour to switch off but it still cuts out at different intervals sometimes it’s a moniker sometimes it’s 15!! Doesn’t help to relax! ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Eindelijk verbeteringen! *2024-06-09* Net de update voor iOS gekregen, en wat een fijne verbeteringen. Eindelijk recensies kunnen lezen en schrijven in de app en alle boeken van voorafgaande maanden kunnen zien. Ongetwijfeld nog meer verbeteringen maar hier ben ik al heel blij mee. Een kleine verbetering zou nog zijn als er automatisch een hoofdletter aan het begin van een zin verschijnt als je een recensie schrijft. Dat is gebruikelijk en daar ben ik zo aan gewend dat ik nu iedere keer moet terug scrollen om de hoofdletter te plaatsen. Ook zou het plezierig zijn als je op de app zou kunnen bijhouden welke boeken je gelezen hebt en nog te lezen hebt. Nu doe ik dat door een screenshot te nemen van de maandelijkse boeken en dan een kruis te zetten door de boeken die ik uit heb. **Developer response:** Bedankt voor deze fijne positieve review!! :-D Wij zijn ook erg blij dat reviews nu ook beschikbaar zijn in de app. Langzaam zullen we op deze manier meer features toevoegen om tot een optimale app experience te komen. Er zitten iedere maand wel een paar leuke boeken tussen en je valt nooit meer zonder lektuur. Ook heb ik hierdoor nieuwe schrijvers leren kennen die ik anders nooit zou gelezen hebben of gekocht. Het verwijdt je interesseveld en dat alles voor aan een heel economische prijs. Ook ben ik aangenaam verrast elke maand door het gevarieerd aanbod aan boeken. Het heeft me ook het e-boek leren apprecieren en het luisterboek leren ontdekken. Beide zou ik nu niet meer kunnen missen. Bedankt Bookchoice. ### 5/5 — Not very good *2019-01-25, version 2.0.9* Having been given a free 2 month trial of this I was keen to try it. On audiobooks, which I to listen to on a speaker via Bluetooth, it completely flattened My battery from full in about 2 hours. It’s also unbelievably slow at downloading books, can’t finish my first audiobook as it’s still downloading after hours. My advice - delete Bookchoice and get sometime which works properly ### 5/5 — Absolutely fantastic!! *2018-05-07, version 2.0.5* I am so pleased I signed up for Bookchoice, I was sceptical at first but my doubts were soon quashed when I started reading the first few books. The app has a lot of books that I would not normally search for, but the selection is excellent and the app offers some absolutely breathtaking fiction. I’ve had no issues using this brilliant app, the books are easy to read and the audio books are clear and very user friendly.
