### 2/5 — Needs attention

*2026-08-02*

Needs attention on the ai reading out loud
The ai stops at certain pages. All the time. And you have to skip 2 pages at a time to pick up the reading.
So it takes your attention off what you’re doing. Driving or working machinery.
Needs look at asap
I paid for it to. But the potential is huge for the company 🌞❤️🌱🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🙏

### 4/5 — Heating issue

*2026-06-29*

The app is great, but the tts makes my iPhone heat up like crazy. I hope that future updates will solve this problem.

**Developer response:** Hey BarracudaFickle,

You are using the free Local TTS voices. Local TTS voices download the model directly to your phone and processes generating the audio for your book on your phone. Local models will work best for mostly the higher end devices.

We suggest you use the Advanced voices that are streamed to your device with realistic and high quality(requires the Advanced plan and above). Alternatively you can use the TTS voices provided by Apple which are not ideal in quality but will also not result in your device getting hot.

### 4/5 — Love it until...

*2026-03-14, version 1.41.8*

I discovered only 10 books...back to looking for another reader.
But I have to say, it’s really very well done.

### 5/5 — Best book reader available

*2026-02-07*

I was a long time user of Marvin app, but after it was shut down it took a long time to find a good replacement. Apple’s books app is okay but doesn’t have enough options to customise. When I found this app it was perfect, I can change the fonts sync my books between my iPhone and iPad, it just does exactly what I want it to do. Five stars.

### 4/5 — Great app

*2026-02-04*

I was looking for a replacement for Marvin as the recent iOS update broke it. This one is almost perfect, and I’d have given 4.5 stars were I able. I have a weak right hand and wanted to be able to swap left and right side tap to advance the page. I also really wanted an app that has autoscroll, that’s my favorite way to read now. BookFusion lets me do these, and autoscroll doesn’t stop at chapter breaks, which I love. It would be the perfect app for me if it had Dropbox integration. I know it’s just a few clicks to open Dropbox and download my files, but I’m lazy.

Thank you for a great reading experience!

### 5/5 — Easy to use reading app

*2026-02-01*

One of the easiest and simple apps with numerous functions and integration. Love how after highlighting you can review all your highlights, comments and has the function to import to obsidian as well, absolutely love this functionality.
Only recommendation would be to annotate the book using Apple Pencil, with this feature, this app could just be a top book reading apps.

### 5/5 — Lovely

*2026-01-30, version 1.41.4*

It’s an excellent app, you will get everything you need, highlighting, concise notes of the highlights and update across all device and systems. Visual options are also great. I am loving it.

### 5/5 — Perfeito

*2026-01-30*

Melhor aplicativo de leitura. Funciona perfeitamente no iOS, Android e pc, com sincronização do progresso.

### 3/5 — There is no TTS but it was promised

*2026-01-28*

I downloaded to test TTS implementation (Apple Books works very bad last 3 years) but couldn't find a way to run it. It's simply not exist or hidden too deep.
UPD 28.01.2026: thanks for replying, I've found it!
Unfortunately available TTS models are from like a decade ago - there is no even Siri TTS model :(
Can I use a model from Google / ElevenLabs / Microsoft or a custom local model I trained myself?

**Developer response:** TTS is present and used by many readers. You can enable it by doing the following:

1. Open the book you want to read
2. Click on A at the top right
3. Go to the Advanced Tab
4. Select Audio, enable it and select your voice

### 5/5 — Hands Down the BEST EBook Reader App

*2026-01-19, version 1.41.3*

I was looking for an option that synced all my books between Calibre, Web, IOS and Android; and Book Fusion hits it on the nail. I have raved about this app to all my bookworm friends. Worth every penny and I can’t wait to see their future updates and integration.

### 3/5 — So close!

*2026-01-18, version 1.41.3*

This has everything I need, except decent translation. Apple translate is miserably bad. (Why is it so bad?!) If I could opt for Google translate instead, or really anything else, this app would be perfect for what I want to do. I love that you can bulk download highlights as a .csv. Everything else about this app seems great.

### 5/5 — Absolutely top tier

*2026-01-17*

Outstandingly good. Spiffing

### 5/5 — Great ebook reader

*2026-01-04*

The ebook reader seems very well thought out and most importantly, it is way more usable offline as compared to Apple’s books.

### 3/5 — Overall great but have few issues.

*2026-01-01*

My major problem is that why it doesn’t have full books page number rather than book percentage. We should have the option to change it. The chapter wise percentage system is good, but sometimes I want to know how much pages left. Kindly fix it.

### 5/5 — Best replacement for Marvin

*2025-12-31, version 1.41.0*

I loved Marvin (which I bought), but the developer abandoned the app and it vanished from my phone (along with all my books) and the App Store because he didn’t update it. There are ways of adding it back but none of my existing books opened right.

Because of this, I’m glad that Book Fusion uses a subscription model. If I’m paying every month, we’ll see enhancements and the likelihood of the developer abandoning the app is much lower.

BF filled my main reqs:

- Color customization (black background and red text for night reading
- variable speed auto scrolling
- lots of other customization options

Great app - 5 stars

### 5/5 — Keeps getting better

*2025-12-28*

I’ve been a loyal user of BookFusion for a while now, using it across several platforms, and it is the best ebook reader app available. It supports read aloud books and seamlessly picks up where you left off on any device. The devs are also super responsive on Reddit, and they listen to and integrate user feedback. I can see myself being loyal to BookFusion for years to come.

### 2/5 — Good app, insane pricing

*2025-12-17*

So this is definitely a slick, well-developed app with some nifty features esp Calibre integration and markdown exporting. Unfortunately, the pricing is absolutely outrageous. Only 10 books are allowed for a free version, which basically makes it obligatory to pay. (I have 90 books on Books). Then you pay for what is basically storage —- already a feature in an iCloud acct. They want to charge me 2$ for 5 GB per month to sideload and store my own books that i already own and store in icloud. Sure you get the slick features and if its worth it for you, then go ahead. But if you just want to sideload and read ebooks, then it’s overkill.

### 5/5 — Superb cross platform e-reader

*2025-12-12*

Highly recommended

### 5/5 — Best

*2025-12-06, version 1.40.6*

The best e-reader

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — TTS Support is a Joke

*2026-01-06, version 1.41.1*

The app itself is a decent ebook reader for epubs. PDF support is horrendous. If you are looking for text to speech, look elsewhere. The implementation here is a joke. All English voices are robotic or sound like muppets with masks on. There are some voices that are, frankly, insulting to anyone wanting this option or needing accessibility. The ‘Jester’ voice basically just laughs in between reading words and the ‘Good News’ voice is reading to the tune of the commencement march. Who thought that these would be options that anyone would want?

### 1/5 — Sick of subscription apps

*2025-10-30, version 1.40.4*

Seems like a great app, but sorry, I’m not paying money every month for an ebook reader in this economy. I’m sure I’ll get a book length response from the developer about how they can’t offer a one time fee option for the app due to server costs, blah, blah, blah. News flash, not all of us want access to the cloud - we just want an epub reader with decent features. I find it hard to believe that any additional development costs would require much, given how fully fleshed out the app is already. Why not offer a lifetime purchase that has limited features?? Typical greedy dev behavior.

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2025-09-20, version 1.39.8*

Needs to mimic the look of a physical book.

### 1/5 — No local support

*2024-04-06, version 1.33.0*

No local support makes this a non-starter for me

### 1/5 — No auto scroll

*2023-12-30, version 1.31.3*

The release notes say there is auto-scroll, and there is a setting to turn it on. There is no such setting. This is a great disappointment, since auto scroll is one of the best features in an e-reader and almost none of them have offered it.

Now they say to go to “Settings(A) -> advanced”. There is no “Settings(A)” or “advanced”. These people don’t seem to know how their own app works.

### 1/5 — Author sort

*2023-10-17, version 1.30.2*

The app works fine and is great and all but when you’re in your library and you sort by author you’d expect it so sort by last name, like every library ever right? Oh it’s author first name? FIRST NAME?????? why why why why why

### 1/5 — Too expensive for international audiences

*2023-09-28*

This app is exactly what I had been looking for. Cross platform ebook reader but it’s super expensive for India. Please offer regional pricing not US price everywhere

**Developer response:** Hi kritifty,

The "app is exactly what I had been looking for". If so why would you leave us a negative review? Is it that you prefer for it to not exist? The app can be used completely free with 10 eBooks and you can upload 1-2 books every 30 days.

Additionally our prices start at only $1.99 per month or $18.99 per year to allow for a wide range of individuals to afford a paid plan if they want more than what is offered for free. We have readers from India and anyone that wants to use BookFusion but would like a discount reach out to us via support@bookfusion.com. But the one thing they do not do is leave a negative review that diminishes the work and efforts of the company building a product that meets their needs.

Thanks for trying BookFusion and all the best.

### 1/5 — No interaction with any cloud providers…

*2023-09-11*

…tells me all I need to know. Basically they just want to sell you hard drive space by the month. I added an extra star because it’s so polished, but if you’re reading this, find a better app. I know there aren’t many options for epub readers in the App Store, but this just feels like extortion. Prices are not reasonable. Not even an option to add your own fonts! This app needs a lot of work, and a better revenue model. Edit: Years later, they’ve addressed nothing. They just wanna sell accounts. Also, there’s no export function so I can’t even get my data out of the app. Removed a star so now we’re just down to one. I’m just done. Delete!

P.S. if I am miserable and toxic it is because this company has illustrated how to be so very well. Get a life! Your app was deleted days ago! I didn’t even delete my account, so my data can sit there taking up space on your servers forever and ever! Wanna be petty? Im the king of petty!

**Developer response:** We provide a full ebook reader and manager with seamless sync with bookmarks, reading progress, highlights and other upcoming collaborative features that requires the use of BookFusions backend (cloud) and is not compatible with third party providers that simply provide only a storage solution.

Full export of all highlights and notes are available in several formats and users can re-download their uploaded eBooks. Additional users can also install their own custom fonts as well.

BookFusion will support uploading eBooks and other content from Dropbox, Google Drive and other cloud providers but you will still need an account for the services we offer.

We are sorry to hear that BookFusion does not meet your needs and hope you find a suitable app for your use case. Enjoy the rest of your day!

For potential readers, please take the time to look at our other reviews and update history, for facts. This user is simply entitled and disgruntled because they expect to use services for free. Unfortunately we respect our readers privacy and do not sell ads nor readers data and must charge. Our revenue model is perfectly fine for the readers that are not interested in selling their data or being shown ads. Use Apple Books or Google Books that are completely "free", no one is forcing you to use BookFusion

Enjoy being the king of petty :)

### 1/5 — Subscription service to add offline books?

*2023-06-06, version 1.27.1*

Apps decent. Kinda like it. But uh…what’s up with having to pay a subscription service to add more then 10 offline books to the app? I don’t need cloud storage. I just want to read books on my phone. That alone makes it a 1 star.

Response to Developer: weird..Yomu was updated 3 weeks ago. Guess that’s considered abandoned? lol thanks though, your response proves i made the right decision by not supporting your app.

### 1/5 — Highlights

*2021-03-24*

Only fb2 highlights are properly synced.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Really smooth experience

*2026-08-09*

I sync my calibre library with it, works like a charm. Thanks guys for the great work. Great value for the money. Keep up the good work guys.

### 5/5 — Perfeito

*2026-08-05*

Testei (juro) mais de 10 APPS similares e este é o melhor que eu encontrei. Têm inúmeras configurações, para agradar a todos. Opções de tipos de rolagem de tela, margem, visual limpo na leitura. Simplesmente perfeito.

### 5/5 — The best Cross Plattform reader including PDFs with sync of read position!

*2026-07-19*

I was looking a long time for a cross platform (iOS and Android) reader especially for PDFs. I prefer reading on my Boox e-paper reader which is android based but also want the option to open the same book or PDF on my iPhone or iPad. This does that perfectly. In case of questions the support is reactive with real solutions (not just the AI support circle of doom). I played around a bit with the TTS function. It is quite good but I prefer real audio books read by professional speakers. But if you like that kind of function it is well implemented and works surprisingly well.
I have been using book fusion now for over three years and couldn’t be happier.
Pricing is very reasonable and has not been increased while I was using the service. So another plus.

### 5/5 — Best reading app

*2026-06-07*

I’ve been using this app for years on my devices. It has every QoL features I need, such as auto scrolling, tts at ridiculous speeds and ridiculous horizontal margins (which I use for reading faster on my ipad without having to move my eyes across the screen).

It also has some new TTS voices that work locally and sound amazing.

My only gripe is I need to import my files inside BookFusion instead of keeping them in a folder, such as iCloud or Obsidian. But, no other app has done this well yet (some such as Documents allow this, but the reader is awful and crashes on large books).

### 5/5 — Great service

*2026-05-05, version 1.42.5*

I love BookFusion. The devs are very responsive in their discord and subreddit as well.

### 5/5 — And you can’t beat the price!

*2026-04-20*

This is an amazing app for those who want to read books across different platforms and keep the highlights synced. The best part is the Obsidian plug-in, which imports all of your highlights in a neat fashion and is fully customizable. Wait, I lied. The best part is the monthly subscription price. They’ve made it extremely affordable for people to use unlike those other ridiculous apps that you see a $10 monthly subscription. At 1.99 a month it’s excellent.

### 5/5 — One of the best study apps on the market

*2026-03-09*

This is one of the best apps I’ve used for organizing my digital textbooks for study. If you need an app to organize your digital textbooks and read them from any device, this is that app. The website and app integration is seamless. It’s totally free to use, and I don’t need to have a subscription, but I chose to just because I love the developers of this app so much. It makes studying the most convenient thing from anywhere. The interface is clean and simple and the features synergize nicely.

### 5/5 — worth it

*2026-03-05, version 1.41.8*

if ure looking for an app u can use to have a shared library between ios and windows (what i was desperately looking for lol) this is it.

the library and bookshelf functionality is intuitive and seamless in terms of organizing ur stuff.

the reader is solid and nice to use, i like the warm, paper-ish theme the best for appearance

i have nothing negative to say which is rare for me, well worth the premium sub

### 5/5 — good for grinding books

*2026-02-12*

autoscrolling is a goated feature
