When the book was added to my bookshelf it said that the buyer would pay $3.97. When I clicked on the link to the details page it showed the same buyer offering only 40 cents - a 90% drop in just a few seconds? Something’s not right here and now I can’t trust the app. I was happy with it until that happened. They need to vet the people that partner with or accept responsibility when something goes wrong. I sent my books based on BookScouters recommendation and got them stolen as a result ### 1/5 — The absolute lowest sell rates of books *2025-12-20, version 3.34* I have compared what sale rates for books here are vs sites like Marketplace, eBay, etc., and these prices are absolutely abysmal. Many popular titles are being offered rates like $0.12. Absolutely ridiculous. Maybe it’s better for textbooks, but the app is complete trash for everything else. You can do better selling your books on another platform. ### 1/5 — Bring back older version *2025-10-07, version 3.33* I’ve been using Book Scouter for 7 or 8 years now and this is the worst update. How is it possible that each update gets worse??? All I want to do is scan books and have simple graphics. This new version isn’t user friendly and it unnecessarily busy!! The five seconds to take in what is going on after scanning is weird. It took me two or three times of scanning a book to figure out what was going on. Why the 5 second countdown? It makes no sense. Putting in the ISBN is an unfunny joke. It never let me finish typing in a number. Also, why would it show that I can sell a book for about $6 on Amazon without letting me so that? The app said no one was buying any of them except 2. Then I went directly to one of the companies that is listed in this app and they offered to buy all but 3 in my stack. I’m going with the other company and deleting this app. ### 1/5 — Painfully slow after recent update *2022-12-09* I LOVED this app… I literally used it in a daily basis and it was beyond great like 10 stars great… I have no idea what they did or what they updated but now every book I scan takes almost 2 minutes to return any results whatsoever which makes the app useless considering how many books I am needing to scan. I sincerely wish you guys would just roll back the bad update and go back to the app I love and miss so dearly 😢 PLEASE???? **Developer response:** Hello! Thank you for your feedback. Thank you for being our customer. ### 1/5 — Scanner has NOT been working for months *2022-08-29* I used to use this wonderful app for years, but now that their scanner on their app has not been working, I will no longer use it. This has been going on for at least 2-3 months…. I’m NOT too happy about this as they are loosing a valued consumer and college student. I used to tell my teachers, deans and fellow colleges students about this wonderful app, but now I will be telling them to just delete it from their phones because clearly it’s not working! So thanks for the short time we all loved it… when it worked! **Developer response:** Hello!
