It needs a refresh and you can’t update every setting in the mobile app. You have to sign on to the boomerang site with a web browser to adjust many key settings.  Guys, seriously, get with it and start improving the function and UI.  Don’t rest on your laurels. There’s plenty of competition out there.

This app has the potential to be great, but is instead quite frustrating. The Accessibility option always disables on my son’s Android Galaxy rendering the parental controls disabled and not functioning. There is no customer service line to call. Instead you have to email and wait for a response. I like the design of this app, but not the functionality.

Thanks for having me take 30 minutes to set everything up, only to find out it is just for a fourteen day trial. Would have been nice to know that ahead of time. I am now deleting it on day one of my trial.

I had given Boomerang one star because it would not let me keep my license for a new phone.  It did finally get fixed and the Boomerang team asked me to contact them to get it fixed.  I don’t need to now.  While looking for a new AP, I realized there were some free ones that are too easy for my 13 year old to get around, and others that are much more expensive.  Boomerang does what I need at a good price.  I didn’t give 5 stars because of the time it took to get the new phone back on my account.  Had I bought a new service, I may have had to go through the same problem.

The application portal stopped working a week ago and still hasn’t been fixed. As another user said, the SSL cert expired May 19th. Such a simple fix, get it renewed !!

Location never updated . Web browser never did either so no info regarding websites visited. I was not offered a refund and hope that once it’s overdue to renew i Can delete. Contacted customer care several times and it was a hassled. Followed instructions and nothing helped, the response basically was “too bad”. I would not recommend this app.

If you don’t turn your child’s phone off before the scheduled time is up, it reorganizes all their apps into alphabetical order. It also can’t track calls/texts. Don’t get this. Period.

Boomerang has been great and helpful in getting a refund. I wanted this app to work so bad, but with the restrictions Apple put on these things, it would not help keep my daughter off of things she was not allowed to be on. She was able to just delete the app. I bought my kids iPads and am now regretting this decision because I have no parental control. My 10 year old daughter hacks it constantly!

Please take this app down. This has basically ruined my life back in 2022 or 2021 because my entire life was tiktok. that was the only thing keeping me entertained. And this applies for most children who are exposed to screens at a young age. You are not helping kids. You are helping them develop hate.

Now it’s good at best.  I just renewed it for one more year against my better judgement after problems last year and now their whole website is down to the point you can even look at the dashboard for your account. It did this one other time and they don’t even notice.

I haven’t been able to uninstall the app from my now adult son’s tablet for 2 YEARS!! It won’t recognize my password AND the trial ended so where’s the 500.00 I paid for a tablet I haven’t been able to use for 2 YEARS!!

The app glitches it messed up my phone I had to get a new one. I don’t recommend I had the app for 2 year and it would glitch, normally I was able to fix it but this last time it messed up the phone and I couldn’t do anything about it. I reached out to customer support but no one ever got back to me so for that I don’t recommend this app

It worked until we got a new phone.  The Boomerang app will not recognize that I already paid for the service.  It wants me to buy it again.  I can’t delete the free trial, and get my previously saved settings or even control the phone anymore.  I contacted Boomerang help, and just got a response to upgrade the app.  That did nothing.  I’ll look for another app.

So he can use the hot spot to connect his laptop to the internet.  Somehow he disabled the location setting so you don’t know where the location of the phone is.

This app does the ONE thing I needed, and something I couldn’t find a way to do any other way on Apple devices… and that is work with a browser to make it impossible for a child to delete their browser search history. It does this with the Spin Safe browser which is working well for my 12 year old. Boomerang keeps a history of all sites visited EVEN IF my daughter deletes her history. Spin Safe also has the ability to block categories of web content as well as specific sites. It’s the perfect solution to give her the freedom to use the internet but I can make sure she is staying safe. THANK YOU FOR CREATING THIS APP.

Safety is our highest concern with our family phones. We delayed in buying phones until we found Boomerang. We immediately found peace of mind in its features, the text messaging and calling tools helps us to keep out unwanted solicitation and strangers. Thanks to boomerang our kids can feel the freedom to communicate and stay in the loop of friends and family without the risks.

This app is just what we needed for our preteen children that have phones. Whenever we have an issue with the app (which is rare), they get back to us right away to get the issue resolved. No complaints here!!

I have been using Boomerang for a few years now with my kids’ devices. My main interest was to be able to view text messages, manage time,  and filter web content. Boomerang works really well- BUT on my kids’ Android phones. Great customer service and affordable. I use the parent mode app on my iPhone where you can do a lot of viewing and adjusting.

About six months ago I left Boomerang in search of another parental control app. I really didn’t have a reason other than we upgraded devices and I figured I would look around. Needless to say, I couldn’t replicate was I had with Boomerang anywhere else. My children do not have Apple devices, so I can monitor SMS, set up geofencing, and allow some apps that don’t go against their allotted time and can be used outside of hours (important during virtual learning). Happy to say that I am back!
