## Newest reviews (13 of 41)

### 2/5 — Latest update has gone backwards

*2023-12-29, version 2.0.11*

Although this is a brilliant idea, the app has always felt a bit glitchy. The latest update has made things worse as you don’t have the option to say that you read to the end of the book on the initial screen and not all picture books have page numbers.

### 2/5 — Latest version has gone backwards

*2023-12-27, version 2.0.11*

It no longer has the option to say you have read the whole book when entering details. You have to enter the page from and to, you cannot flick a radio button any more to say you have read the lot. Ok when the pages are numbered but if they’re not….

### 2/5 — Latest update unnecessary changes

*2023-12-26, version 2.0.11*

Not sure who thought it was a good idea to make an already awkward input of books read, to make it harder to just enter end of book. This is meant to be used in school where for earlier readers, the books are shorter and read in one session. Why has it be changed?

### 2/5 — Too limited. Not all reading is done though books

*2023-12-24, version 2.0.11*

We have to use this app because my son’s school has made it mandatory. But it is too restrictive. We often read things which aren’t books - magazines, newspapers, museum boards, adverts, recipes, story cards and more. We are asked to log all reading. But this app insists everything needs to be a book - with a title and author. This is ridiculous. And it is also against what the school is asking us to log. I don’t think they realise that the app is so limited. Maybe, in a previous version, it was less restrictive? If so, please bring that flexibility back and save many parents’ sanity!!

UPDATE December 2023. The latest version is the worst so far. The bar code feature has long since gone - making adding books slower. But now they’ve removed the “to the end” option as the second value of the number of pages read per session. Which is a pain as you have to reopen the book to find the number of the last page each time.

### 2/5 — No longer the option to log the book has been finished

*2023-12-22, version 2.0.11*

Can only log how many pages have been read. School needs to know how many books are being completed so this app is no longer useful for this purpose.

### 2/5 — Why now not able to scan barcode?

*2023-03-18, version 2.0.4*

I loved being able to scan barcode but now I do no have the option. Why is this?

### 1/5 — Latest update is terrible

*2023-02-23, version 2.0.4*

The old app was really good and worked well, but the latest update is absolutely dreadful. It’s really complicated to simply “read the same book as yesterday, again”.

Also the barcode scanning tool is gone, which made life really easy (and fun for kids).

The new look and feel is confusing to understand too.

If it wasn’t for the fact the school force me to use this app, I’d never touch it again happily.

### 1/5 — No IBAN scanner in update

*2023-02-02, version 2.0.0*

So much for rebuilt ground up and easier to add a book, not without the scanner to add the book it’s not.
Where’s it gone??

### 1/5 — Not working since update

*2023-02-01, version 2.0.0*

Can’t access second child’s reading log on the app ever since the update. Please fix!

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work on IPhone

*2023-02-01, version 2.0.0*

Since new update the app no longer works on iPhone. I have tried various different devices but just get a blank white screen.

### 2/5 — Really slow update

*2023-01-30, version 2.0.0*

App worked brilliantly and the kids loved it. New update is awesome - very slow, unresponsive and buffers for ages!!

### 2/5 — Since update not working

*2023-01-30, version 2.0.0*

Worked great, before todays update. Not it won’t login, has kicked us out of the app also…

### 1/5 — Not working

*2022-10-15, version 1.0.55*

ISBN not working when scan, I had to manually write the titles and authors of the book.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Stupid

*2025-10-13, version 2.0.15*

I can’t even login without my email and it just cannot work so I have to use the website

### 1/5 — Terrible!

*2025-09-01, version 2.0.15*

Clunky, not user friendly full of errors

### 1/5 — Awful

*2024-11-17, version 2.0.15*

App doesn’t carry over data from previous year and can’t create a new account because “email address is already in use” even though I deleted my account. Have to log in through the browser and add all the school details every time.

### 1/5 — Frustrating

*2024-07-08, version 2.0.14*

It depresses me that I have to use this app. Using tech is supposed to make life easier, but I find that I have to go through more steps vs writing it down. When the app doesn't recognise the book it is painful to have to manually enter the details as predictive text has an issue with the name of most authors.

### 1/5 — Latest update not good

*2024-02-25, version 2.0.12*

Took away the ability to mark book as pages 1 to end, now you have to count all the pages of every book manually, as some books don’t have page numbers

### 1/5 — Really annoying to use now

*2024-02-17, version 2.0.12*

Why take away the tick box for when you read a whole book in one go? Pretty much all the books my son has don’t have page numbers so I have to count how many pages there are to record it properly and most of the time I just don’t bother anymore. Makes us look like we don’t read with our child but it’s just that the app is designed by people who must not actually use it themselves

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2024-01-10, version 2.0.12*

Latest update “improve interface for completing books”. Yep, improved by taking the option away

### 1/5 — Fix latest update

*2023-12-31, version 2.0.11*

The latest update is terrible. You can no longer mark a book as complete, you have to put an end page number in. Also when marking as complete in the follow up step it flags it as completed on the current day, no longer possible to add completions retrospectively.

### 1/5 — Trash

*2023-03-21, version 2.0.4*

This is not working

### 1/5 — Can’t even log In

*2023-03-16, version 2.0.4*

Recommend this app by daughters school. Went to join said would get a email with a code for next steps so went to email got nothings. Went back on the app it took me back to create an account but now I can’t cause my email is already in use 🙄. Aint creating a new email.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Much Improved – A Great Tool for Parent

*2025-05-27, version 2.0.15*

The developers have clearly listened to feedback, and the app has improved significantly. I’ve noticed several negative reviews, but many seem to come from people who may not be using the app correctly. All the necessary functionality is there—you can log your child’s reading and easily add new books.

The support team is also very responsive and helpful if you run into any issues. Overall, it’s a much more convenient and effective alternative to traditional paper reading diaries.

### 5/5 — No option for completing a book

*2024-02-10, version 2.0.12*

New update last month Jan 2024 was rubbish. No features of “reading complete” after finishing a book. My child is really upset and now doesn’t want to read any more. Please fix it asap!

### 5/5 — Good idea!

*2021-04-23, version 1.0.3*

This is a fab idea for busy parents, the amount of times I forgot to write in my daughters reading record- I can’t even think! I initially had problems with logging into the app. But after getting in touch with the creators, they bent over backwards to help and now have it sorted for me! Couldn’t of had better customer service :) Thankyou

### 5/5 — Great Parent Tool

*2021-04-23, version 1.0.3*

We have started using this at my children’s school and having the reading records held digitally has made life a lot easier! We can set a schedule to remind us to read and as we no longer have to remember to send our reading record into school, we have one less worry each morning.

### 4/5 — Better

*2024-03-07, version 2.0.13*

06/03/24 Edited and 2 stars given back. The app developers listened and brought back the completed book function. Good listening. Still not brilliant but it’s getting there.

Not a great interface. Not intuitive. They have removed the “completed book feature” on reading log.

### 4/5 — Needs the scanner adding

*2023-03-27, version 2.0.4*

App works fine, can manually add anything my children read, but it would be really useful to have the option to scan the barcode and automatically add some books to the reading list. Please add this function

### 3/5 — It’s ok

*2023-02-10, version 2.0.3*

On the first few days it was fine it’s just quite confusing if you want to search up a book it doesn’t do anything

### 3/5 — Missing key function of typing ISBN

*2022-09-13, version 1.0.54*

First week of use and having to add books from home. Got books that have an ISBN number written on it but no barcode to scan. The app only allows to scan a barcode or to manually type title / author.

Please add function to search for book by typing ISBN if not able to scan.

### 2/5 — Alert: Invalid parent login code

*2024-09-20, version 2.0.14*

Look here, when I type my email address and type 60795 or 21567, it shows me a white box with the title: Alert along with the text: Invalid parent login code with a button that says: OK. Why is this? What is the login code? Send me a message if anyone knows.

### 2/5 — Messy but does the job

*2024-03-28, version 2.0.13*

Need to use it for school. The app is a mess though. If the book title is more than 20 characters long you can’t read it anymore, which is useless when you are reading a series. You can’t edit the title either.
I ended up just using the web version, which has its own design issues but at least I can see what I’m doing.
