### 4/5 — Great But

*2026-08-16, version 264*

Spent a decent amount of time making a routine. It disappeared, but the title of it still shows when I search for it.

### 3/5 — Stop changing the interface please

*2026-08-16, version 264*

Y’all really gotta stop changing the interface, it’s worse every update. Also when I’m creating a program, please give me an option to turn off the AI auto generated text and photo. I’ve used this app for a couple years now and it’s one of the best, just not sure what direction y’all are going with every update. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

### 3/5 — Assisted exercises seems to not be calculated correctly

*2026-08-08*

There should be a way to put your weight so the assisted exercises are calculated correctly in terms of volume, it seems wrong the way it is now.

**Developer response:** I hear you and I appreciate the feedback. The swap exercise feature has been changed back to free. If you would consider updating your review, we would appreciate it. Thank you. –Michael, co-founder

### 4/5 — Great app but not worth the Pro

*2026-07-29, version 263*

Great app but not worth paying for the pro version. Not as many options as the free.

### 4/5 — Amazing app, great potential. some bug issues

*2026-07-27, version 263*

When I preview my program by opening one of the days. The amount of sets jumps from the old amount to the new amount due to edit. I don’t think the edit function is fully in sync with the preview section. Otherwise super useful app!

### 4/5 — Very good app

*2026-07-20, version 262*

Very good overall.
Could improve by not needing to tap Edit when entering sets and reps.

### 3/5 — Downward spiral

*2026-06-21, version 261*

Every update makes the app worse. Now the timer is all but useless as the app resets when you change apps. There are fewer pro programs now then there was a year ago. Updated on June 21, same issues persist

### 4/5 — Visual guides

*2026-06-16, version 260*

Visual guides don’t always match the actual workout titles.

### 2/5 — Less Intuitive With Every Update

*2026-06-08, version 260*

I’ve been a paying subscriber for nearly two years, largely because I meticulously track my workouts and didn’t want to lose my training history.

I won’t be renewing.

What originally attracted me to Boostcamp was its clean, intuitive design. Over time, the app has become increasingly cluttered with programming I don’t use, and features that were once easy to access have been buried behind additional taps.

A perfect example is workout history. There used to be a simple calendar view that made it easy to see every day you trained and quickly review your consistency month by month. Now that view is tucked away, making something I used regularly harder to find for no apparent benefit.

The exercise library is also more limited than it should be, with many common variations missing.

I’ve stayed this long because my workout history is valuable to me, but the user experience has steadily declined. Moving years of training data to a new platform will be a hassle, but at this point it’s worth it.

If you value simple design, intuitive navigation, and quick access to your workout history, there are much better and cheaper options out there.

### 4/5 — Great Aop

*2026-06-07, version 260*

Excellent workout programme with intuitive user interface. Would easily get 5 stars except that the workout demos don’t quite match the workouts. So I’ve had to rely on YouTube or Google to confirm which workout I’m doing when it’s not obvious from the title. Please sort this out as it’s otherwise an excellent app, so far!

### 3/5 — Slow and buggy recently

*2026-06-01, version 259*

I’ve used this app for years and since a new update it’s harder to navigate and a lot slower and buggier

### 2/5 — Lacking

*2026-05-30, version 259*

The strength score feature is absolutely pointless, it’s too limited serves no purpose at all. and there hasn’t been any new “Pro” content in the year plus since I’ve had the subscription. They don’t have anything to offer that’s worth money

### 4/5 — Good app, but too many hoops

*2026-05-19, version 257*

Good so far after using it for a few weeks. The only complaint I have is that they make it very hard to use the free version when you get started. I swear I had to decline six offers before it let me start logging for free.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Buggy

*2026-08-16, version 264*

The app always crashes within a few seconds of starting.

### 1/5 — Not Free

*2026-07-16, version 262*

Was told by Google this had a free version but after signing up the app wouldn’t let me past the “free trial” with any way to choose a free version. Very scammy and people shouldn’t click to agree anything that says “no payment due at this time”.

### 1/5 — Annoying

*2026-07-13, version 262*

Why do you have to go through the WHOLE process and then pay for it? Like now it has all my info and there’s no way I’m paying for a stupid app to tell me that I’m not fit and that I should do some Russian exercise. Dumb ahh app don’t get it

### 1/5 — Not a fan

*2026-06-25, version 261*

The app has a pile of multi week workouts…. They just repeat the same workout every week.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-06-07, version 260*

An ad for “pro” pops up every time I touch the screen. 0/10 do not recommend

### 1/5 — Used to be good

*2026-06-01, version 259*

Latest update makes it almost unusable. App closes anytime you get out of it or close your phone, negating the timer and making the app restart each time. I’ve submitted multiple reports with no response.

### 1/5 — Update broke a lot of stuff

*2026-05-22, version 258*

I’m sure you know that the recent update broke the timers and the app now closes and opens inconsistently. Please fix it.

Edit: please test your app more. You replied to say it’s fixed, and it is not. Really unhappy I bought a year of premium right now.

### 1/5 — Jogging!!!!!

*2026-05-16, version 257*

One star for telling people to jog.

### 1/5 — May 2026 Update Busted

*2026-05-05, version 255*

Solid app, if slow to load certain things at times, but nice availability of options until this most recent update. Uninstalling and reinstalling works only briefly as the app is permanently stuck on "loading updates" that never come. Deleterious to the workout mid-session , so better commit it to memory. Needs immediate patching.

Also don't love the new UI- just a little bit clunkier.

### 1/5 — Program disappeared

*2026-05-02*

I spent quite a while making a custom routine, used it, only for it to disappear the next day.
I want to use this app to track my mountaineering routine, but there’s no use for me if custom routines don’t save properly. I’m only left with public bodybuilding plans, so I’ll just delete the app instead of tediously spending another 2 hours fixing it.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2026-08-12, version 263*

Haven’t used to many exercise apps but this one is awesome. Free version is great and easy to use. Great programs to choose from as well. Will be recommending to others

### 5/5 — Workout

*2026-07-28, version 263*

🙂

### 5/5 — New user

*2026-07-08, version 262*

I have not used a training app before so I can’t compare this app to any others, but I have appreciated the features so far. It might be a little sensitive to “touch” as I accidentally swiped and removed a workout, and reordering the workouts hasn’t been smooth, but that’s more user error, and it was easy to find and replace the workout.

### 5/5 — Good free option, loads of programs and very data oriented

*2026-07-08, version 262*

Amazing app if you want to create your own program and monitor it.

### 5/5 — Less think more workout

*2026-07-06, version 262*

I’ve only gotten the chance to use the app a couple of times, but I appreciate the ease of use and the rest timer in-between sets. Gives me less to have to personally track or think about, so I can just focus on working out.

### 5/5 — Gabriel Alonzo

*2026-07-02, version 262*

Absolutely love it best tool to train so far

### 5/5 — Just started

*2026-06-16, version 260*

Let me make up my entire plan very happy it didn’t limit the amount of exercises I could add

### 5/5 — Is it good?

*2026-06-07, version 260*

Yeah it’s the best

### 5/5 — The best workout app

*2026-05-28, version 259*

Let me start by saying I’ve tried many things. Notebooks, excel, other apps, etc… for extended periods of time before finding Boostcamp.

This is the only app I’ve stuck to and used consistently, 5 days a week for… most of 3 years, since Jan 2024. Ive used the paid version for nearly 1 yr.

The free version is more than good enough, but the paid version allows for more customization.

This app is great for a couple of reasons. First it promotes consistency, and second it promotes personal investment in working out.

How: a routine paired with intuitive tracking of progress takes all the guess work out of the gym. This is coming from someone who works 12 hour days and rarely knows what day it even is. This app rules because I go into the gym and just click start on whatever day is next in my routine. Set it and forget it.

As for personal investment in the grind, this app motivates you by allowing you to change up YOUR routine and record YOUR progress… it gives YOU ownership and makes it easy instead of the focus being a product or fitness influencer.. it makes it about you. Then on top of that the app rewards you, when you make a PR it tells you, when you finish a workout it tells you. When you are consistent it tells you. It leverages our human propensity for rewards.

Lastly the team is great. I had an issue with access and they helped me get it sorted out within hours. They have amazing user support which is unheard for imo for applications.

### 5/5 — Fantastic App

*2026-05-18, version 257*

Very user friendly! Informative and intuitive. Really a great guide to push yourself and have options for tried and true workouts! Love it!
