## What is BoothDock Companion?

BoothDock Companion shows you on your phone how your photo booths are doing - while the event is running, not afterwards in a report.

ONE COLOUR PER EVENT
The Live view sums up every running event in a single statement: all good, take a look, or step in. Underneath it says why - which booth has gone quiet, where paper is running low, when the last photo was uploaded. Readable with a glass of champagne in your hand.

ALERTS WORTH HAVING
The app speaks up when a booth drops out during a running event, when paper runs low or a print fails - and again once it has sorted itself out. A booth sitting in storage is not an emergency and stays silent. Otherwise you hear nothing.

EVERY BOOTH IN DETAIL
State, last contact, printer with sheets left and queue, disk space, connection, current event. You can rename a booth from here too.

EVENTS AND SESSIONS
Which events are running, which are coming up, how many sessions and files have added up - and a look into the event's gallery.

WHAT THIS APP DOES NOT DO
It collects nothing about you. No analytics, no advertising SDK, no third-party crash service. It talks to your BoothDock hub and to nobody else.

REQUIREMENTS
A BoothDock account with at least one booth. The phone is paired once using a code from the hub (Security - Connected devices). Password, two-factor and passkeys stay with the hub, where you can disconnect the device again at any time.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4.0 — 2026-10-07

New in 1.4.0
• Pair by QR code: connect a Studio box and BoothDock Station to your event.
• Clearer error messages when pairing.
• Interface in more languages.

### 1.3.1 — 2026-10-02

New in 1.3.1
• New icon: Boo with a wrench, on iPhone and Apple Watch.

### 1.3 — 2026-09-22

The app no longer has to be opened to tell you something.

The traffic light now sits on the Home Screen, on the Lock Screen and in Control Centre. And Siri answers the question directly — "Is everything okay in BoothDock?" — on the iPhone and on your wrist.

The evening before an event, your phone speaks up if something is missing: no booth assigned, paper low, little space left. Once, not daily, and never at night.

Instead of "12 prints left", it now also says how long that lasts — but only when that can be said honestly.

The watch keeps itself current: it asks the iPhone, even while the phone is locked in your pocket.

And with no signal, the app shows what was last known, with its age. Anything too old counts as unknown — an honest silence beats false calm.

VoiceOver now also reads out the coloured dots that used to be silent.

### 1.2 — 2026-09-21

The app now runs on Apple Watch.

A glance at your wrist shows whether the running event is going smoothly — and as a complication, the traffic light sits right on the watch face, with the reason if it isn't green.

The watch needs no login of its own. It asks the iPhone, and the iPhone asks the hub. If the phone is lost, one click in the hub blinds the watch as well.

And it says so when it doesn't know: a status older than three hours shows a question mark instead of a traffic light. An honest silence beats false calm.

Also: the App Store texts now read correctly in every language — with the characters that belong in them.

### 1.1 — 2026-09-20

The app itself is unchanged. This version brings the App Store page to 17 languages - the app has spoken them all along, the shop window only German.

Also checked: the iPad layout in landscape.
