Alan helped me sort it out by remoting in. Huge real‑world gains in horsepower and torque, excellent throttle response, and smooth, predictable power delivery. The app is easy to use, logging is excellent, and it makes it simple to verify that everything is running clean and safe. With the proper supporting mods and a consistent E30 blend, the car runs knock‑free with solid fuel pressure and boost tracking. Best bang‑for‑the‑buck engine tuning available. Had a couple of tunes on and off since June, there was always one niggle, which was a new oil quality light which came on after 10-15 minutes of driving. Raised a support ticket, sorted out a convenient time and Zanin, remotely logged in, whilst my car was parked next to my house window 😅… checked over the coding, found the error and fixed it within about 20 minutes. Could have been from me using BimmerCode last year to turn off Stop/Start function. Car runs just as amazingly just without the intrusion! This needs fix asap ### 1/5 — Terrible Decision *2026-01-05, version 3.0.10* Please avoid this company at all costs. They have wasted a significant amount of my time and money. Due to repeated issues on their end, my car was left completely undrivable for nearly a week, and then the exact same problem occurred again, leaving me without a vehicle for several additional weeks. The customer service has been extremely disappointing. Responses were very slow, communication was unclear, and I was never given a proper explanation for why this kept happening or how it would be prevented in the future. Being without a car for this long should be treated as a serious matter, but it never felt like a priority. Because of the ongoing impact and lack of resolution, I am now debating my options moving forward, including whether further action is necessary. Overall, this has been a very frustrating and unacceptable experience, and I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere if you value reliability and responsive support. ### 1/5 — App does not work! *2025-12-04, version 3.0.7* This app almost never works. It worked without issue for the first few weeks after I downloaded it, then I constantly had issues opening it. The only way to fix it (temporarily) was to uninstall, then reinstall. Every time I did this, I had to set up all of my logging preferences again. After a couple days however, the app would stop working again. I have tried this app on two different iPhones with different iOSs to no avail. To be fair, I have also had a lot of issues with the BM3 web app on different laptops over the years, as well (I have been a BM3 user since 2018). I’ve used WiFi, Ethernet connected to my laptop, Ethernet connected to my phone. Nothing. I’ve asked for help multiple times and just get the same useless responses, save yourself and use MHD ### 1/5 — Dont fall for adapter scam *2025-08-06, version 2.10.0* This company hardly updates there app to keep up with phone updates. If you plan on using an iphone to tune your car just forget it. Buy a enet cable and just use wifi off a laptop. Because their software is always behind the adapter will not connect even after going through their pages of troubleshooting. Oh and the website tunes dont match the phone tunes theyre older for some reason and dont have as many options for the config. Overall not happy with bm3 after 4 years of having it. Almost never works. Straight trash. Get mhd ### 1/5 — Centralina bloccata e casini vari. *2025-07-23, version 2.9.0* Che dire, prima ci hanno messo un paio di settimane per mettermi a disposizione una serie di mappe che veramente funzionassero, infatti dopo ogni caricamento “con esito ok” il motore continuava ad andare esattamente come uscito dalla fabbrica. Poi hsnno risolto il problema ed effettivamente quasi tutto era perfetto, in stage 1 e 2 98 ottani, ma anche 95. Aumento di potenza e coppia notevoli. Poi ho chiesto per risolvere il “problema” dei burbles, non l avessi mai fatto. Mi hanno mandato una serie di mappe test e l ultima ha rasato la centralina. Toccato portare col carro l’ auto in bmw e farla riprogrammare. Poi si sono rimpallati la responsabilità e alla fine era colpa mia perché l’ avevo fatta ripristinare in bmw. E quedto è molto riassunto. This time, I needed the tune for my lil N20 just to give it a little more in terms of performance as a daily driver. This is worth the hype. The performance gains are real and the support from protuningfreaks is top notch. I’ve reached out about several items to seek clarity on the DME unlock (tbh saved me $200+ because I wa about to pay someone to unlock it because the software said lock status unknown) and to keep the CEL off due to downpipe and every response has been thorough and resolved my questions.
