## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.3 — 2026-07-09

This one’s all about language. If you don’t speak English or Russian, the app finally speaks to you too.

34 new languages. The whole app — every screen, the Watch app, the widgets, even the App Store page — is now translated into 34 more languages. Arabic, Japanese, Hindi, Vietnamese, Ukrainian, both flavors of Chinese and Portuguese, and a couple of dozen more. If your phone’s set to one of them, that’s what you’ll see.

Right-to-left, done properly. In Arabic and Hebrew the layout mirrors the way it should — chevrons point the right way, and swiping through weeks and months goes the direction you’d expect.

Money looks right everywhere now. Amounts follow each currency’s own rules — ¥142 instead of a made-up ¥141.51, and euros keep their trailing zeros (1.163,60 €). Small thing, but it was bugging us.

And a few fixes:
- Fixed a crash on the add/edit screen for anyone using the Islamic (Umm al-Qura) calendar.
- An empty month no longer paints tiny nonsense numbers up the side of the chart.
- The Watch summary no longer overlaps itself on the smaller watches.
- Cleaner icon buttons in the edit and filter screens.

Have a great day!

### 2.2 — 2026-06-18

This one’s mostly about polish — fewer crashes, more icons, and a bunch of small things that just feel better now.

New category icons. Hiking, surfing, golf, a hare, a tortoise (for the slow spenders), a tree, a mountain… 16 new ones to pick from. Go re-decorate your categories.

The currency picker is one screen now, with search right at the top. No more digging through a “popular” list and then a separate “all currencies” one — just start typing.

VoiceOver finally reads the charts. The dashboard donut and bar charts — and the Watch app too — now actually describe what’s on screen. A bit embarrassed it took this long.

And a pile of fixes:
- The widget no longer crashes when your phone is locked.
- The dashboard no longer crashes on an empty month.
- A CSV with some wild amount can’t sneak bad data in anymore.
- Expenses you log with Siri get the same checks as everywhere else.
- If a save ever fails, the app tells you now instead of quietly pretending everything’s fine.

Have a great day!

### 2.1 — 2026-04-30

A bunch of awesome new widgets for your home screen.

A spending chart with category and date range selection.
“Last expense” — for those moments when you’re like: “Wait… did I log that or not?”
No-spend days — honestly one of the best features. Track how many days you’ve gone without spending anything (you can even pick a category).
And quick add with just one tap.

The “Quick Add” button is now available in Control Center (yep, where your flashlight lives), on the lock screen, and for the Action Button. One tap — and you’re already picking a category. On newer iPhones with the Action Button, it’s especially nice: set it once and forget it.

All currencies are now supported — not just 12 like before. I went to Turkey and realized… not having lira in the app was just embarrassing.

Clear, human-readable error messages when entering expenses.
Before, weird inputs would show something like expense.error.amountTooHigh — not great. Now it’s proper text.
And yes, my favorite “galactic-scale purchase” message is back for those truly astronomical amounts.

Have a great day!

### 2.0 — 2026-03-28

A full Apple Watch app. A real one — no “please open the iPhone app first” nonsense. You can do everything right away: add and edit expenses, search, scroll, and view charts with any time range.

iCloud sync between iPhone and Watch. No setup needed — it just works. And if you delete the app, don’t worry about your data, it will come back from iCloud on the next install.

Complications for Watch faces and Lock Screen widgets. See your daily and monthly spending, your last entry (no more “did I actually log that?”), and your no-spend days.

No-spend days are a special kind of fun. You can create something slightly guilty, like “late-night snacks,” and watch it say: “24 days without spending out of 25.” Basically a new life.

Updated app icon. It’s now a gingerbread wallet with a coin flying out, slightly adapted for that glassy look. Yes, I just really like gingerbread cookies. And, apparently, glass.

Daily totals in the expenses list. No more mental math — the app does it for you. Finally.

### 1.4 — 2026-02-25

New & Improved
  - Long-press the app icon for quick actions: Add Expense, Dashboard, Search, and Export. One tap and you're there.
  - iPad now gets a proper sidebar. It deserved better and we delivered.
  - CSV export follows RFC 4180 now. If you know what that means, you're welcome. If you don't — your spreadsheets just work better.
  - Data migration to App Group storage. Sounds boring, but it's paving the road for widgets. Stay tuned.

Bug Fixes
  - Fixed a few edge cases that were quietly misbehaving when no one was looking.

Under the Hood
  - Extracted core logic into a Swift Package — because sharing is caring (especially between targets).
  - Added 185 unit tests. Yes, one hundred and eighty-five. We sleep better now.
  - Various Swift 6 concurrency improvements. The app was already fast, now it's also polite about threading.

Siri & Shortcuts
  - Ask Siri "Show my spending in Boring Expenses" or "Top spending category in Boring Expenses" — get answers without even opening the app. Peak laziness achieved.
  - Say "Log an expense in Boring Expenses" to add expenses by voice. Your hands are full of groceries? Siri's got you.
  - All 7 intents are available in Shortcuts.app
