He was very friendly and welcoming. And felt safe with him driving. Though the second driver was not as customer focused and had a heavy right foot, he made me feel unsafe, and I had to hold on at times. His Skoda had an amber engine management light on, and he didn’t seem to be bothered about it. Even though I could hear the car wining as he drove. I believe that all vehicles should be fully serviced and in complete roadworthiness, which clearly this one was not. ### 2/5 — Really bugged app *2025-07-27, version 36.0.9* If you close the app or go on another app whilst waiting for a taxi, it will not show how far away the driver is anymore and i have to refresh constantly for it to finally update! ### 2/5 — Overcharged without good explanation *2025-06-05, version 36.0.9* I had a very bad experience with Boro Taxi. When I booked the ride through the app, it gave me an estimated fare, which seemed reasonable. But when the ride was over and I requested a payment link, I was shocked to find I was charged a much higher amount than originally quoted! I don’t understand how the fare jumped so much with no clear explanation. If booking through the app and paying by link leads to hidden extra charges, customers should be made aware of this upfront. It feels like I was tricked into paying more than expected. This is unacceptable and very misleading. I won't be using Boro Taxi again and I advise others to double-check the charges before confirming anything. Definitely not happy with the service. ### 2/5 — Map Issue *2025-04-27, version 35.1.9* Seems like the map loading functionality is not working, it’s showing wrong address while setting the location in the map. I find standing very hard and would have liked to know why the taxi was so late. The taxi needed a good clean inside too. Disappointing for my first trip in Boro taxis ### 4/5 — good company but all needs fixing *2025-01-12, version 35.0.12* good app overall the drivers are typically nice clean cars etc but the app itself is very glitchy if you close it and open it it won’t show you where the driver is anymore so you have to refresh the app and sometimes it just doesn’t show you how far away the driver is or tell you how many minutes it will be… ### 1/5 — Taxi *2025-01-10, version 35.0.12* My taxi said £8.90 the driver charged me 10 he robbed me ### 1/5 — Ride driver *2024-12-31, version 35.0.12* Was on the phone throughout the ride and he didn’t apologize for coming late ### 1/5 — Speeding driver *2024-12-25, version 35.0.12* The driver did not obey the speed limits of the roads and had to be reminded of the speed limits even though there was a 11 month old baby in the car which the driver was made aware of before we set off. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Good app just stop allowing the drivers to reject you when they’ve said their coming to pick you up *2026-01-05, version 37.0.11* Good app but drivers should not be allowed to drop you or reject picking you up and choosing to pickup different customers while you’re waiting for a ride. The amount of times I’ve been waiting for a car and it goes found you a car your driver will be 6 mins away and when it goes driver rejected and it goes back to finding you a car. And this can be repeated over and over again and again twice now I’ve walked home in the rain cause it was quicker than waiting for another driver. And they should not be allowed to reserve customers when they’re still on the last job and half an hour away. ### 1/5 — Bad *2025-11-05, version 37.0.11* There the most slowest taxi service I’ve ever had could book the day before and your still waiting half an hour it’s shocking wouldn’t even rate them 1 star ### 1/5 — Bad! *2025-10-01, version 37.0.5* Terrible drivers shouldn’t be aloud to say they will pick you up and are 3 mins away to them cancel on you I had 6 drivers cancel on me today and I was waiting over an hour. Thanks for making me late to work. ### 1/5 — Apple Pay no longer works *2025-09-17, version 37.0.5* No longer allows me to use Apple Pay so this is worthless now. It keeps telling me to check my settings but there are no settings to check. This has made me late for work and even caused me to miss a train. It’s really frustrating when you book a taxi expecting reliability, only to be delayed like you’re taking public transport. If the drivers can’t meet the estimated time, they shouldn’t accept the job. Being punctual is part of being professional, and unfortunately, that standard hasn’t been met consistently. I hope the service improves, because when it works, it’s convenient—but reliability really needs attention. ### 1/5 — Taxi refused to take a 5th person to the same address even though there were 2 spare seats *2025-03-30, version 35.1.9* We booked 2 taxis to take 7 of us from battersby train station to stokesley and Broughton. The first taxi came and was a 6 seater which could have taken everyone to 1 address in Broughton, but he refused to take 5 of us without us paying double the fare. ### 1/5 — Don’t use this company *2025-03-25, version 35.1.9* I had to make 3 taxi journeys in one day. The app only let me book one, the website only let me book one, so I booked the last one over the phone. They didn’t send any confirmation and they made me pay in cash. First two drivers were late and first one didn’t know where he was going. I used the tracker to find out the last driver was going in the wrong direction, away from my pick up location. I called and he claimed to be sick, so had to cancel the journey, despite clearly driving the car at the time.
