The Apple Watch app isn’t as useful as it could be: it focuses on finding books, not on playback of audiobooks. Update: In response to developer response: If I was able to sign into borrowbox with two different library cards at the same time like I can with libby I would be able to benefit from the borrowbox collection of two different libraries instead of having to sign into one library have the book not be available have to sign out and the sign in to second library to find the book. Your solution requires me to continuously sign in or out or go to the effort to make a purchase recommendation and the wait weeks to see if purchase recommendation is accepted then I might get the book. Libby lets me sign in with both cards see what’s available at multiple libraries at once hassle free. **Developer response:** Hi there, thank you for your review! Your library authority has their own individual BorrowBox collection, which they select from our extensive catalogue of titles. In order of the most frustrating to the least. No named chapters in Audiobooks, just numbers with the book title constantly repeated. No bookmarks, which would help when things get out of sync between devices. The search function involves, clicking on the search box, then select the type of media, then return to the search box. ‘available’ filter button only available the search all categories section, it should be on every section. Improving the ability to search only for available audiobooks would be handy. There is a feature to allow this but it does not allow searching by genre and can be tedious. Is this just a UK residents only app???? ### 1/5 — STILL NO AirPlay!!! *2026-07-29, version 6.5.3* The app itself works fine, but I’ve come to the AppStore just to leave this review in the desperate hope it will help convince the powers that be that airplay functionality for this app is thoroughly overdue. Every other reading and audiobook app has one — Libby, Cloudlibrary, Audible, you name it. As an avid listener to books when I drive, the lack of an airplay button for BorrowBox means I actively avoid using the app where I can. It can’t have every single item you want, but the sheer volume of content available is great, particularly if you like a magazine too. I used to love reading books but with the hectic nature of life I do not get the opportunity to as I once did.
