Have you ever worked as a ASE certified mechanic one day in your life?!?!?! To properly diagnose drivability issues we need that live data graph while the vehicle is being driven. This is a waste of $100. Everyone, do yourself a favor and buy the Walmart bluedriver obd wireless scanner. It actually does what you need it to do. Bosch had a good product until they literally shot themselves in the face making it un able to operate when vehicle is in motion. What a bunch of morons who came up with that. ### 1/5 — App Based OBD Readers are a Rip Off *2020-01-11, version 1.2.8* Used the blue tooth code reader and it was great until the app used to control it was out dated by iPhone tech updates. Now it’s a $100 piece of junk and to think I could have just bought an ordinary code reader for the same price and it would still be working today. Down loaded it immediately asked to update. Seems to stream live data ok while parked. As soon as you start to move it disconnects. Complete waste of money. I tell it to update and it gives me the status bar acting like it’s going to update. The app automatically crashes. I open up the app again, it shows the status bar and crashes. I force close the app, open the app and attempt to read the car again. Then you can guess what happens, the cycle starts over again. This item was ok before they took away the ability to watch the car while moving, now though this item is literally useless and I’m forced to buy a different reader. Read and clear a code...doesn’t seem to hard, but the app has multiple glitches every time I attempt to use it. Yes it will connect at first but then says the module cannot perform an erase with KOEO. I have verified this multiple times to only be dissatisfied and have to take the vehicle somewhere to have the codes cleared once a repair has been made. This is the first scanner that even the tech support couldn’t help me. He would tell me to go to different pages that was not a option on my app that I installed the day I called with the problem. It did not read the code the only reason I got it for (ABS) it states it will. Now I have to see if I can return it to the store I got it from it will not do domestic vehicles after 2012 so the dates on the package is wrong as well. ### 1/5 — Horrible *2019-03-02, version 1.2.8* My u scan device won’t even connect to my Bluetooth and when it does it crashes all the time ### 1/5 — Latest version was written by someone who has likely NEVER set foot in a shop! *2019-02-08, version 1.2.8* The app was pretty good before the latest update, some parts didn’t support the vehicle I was scanning but I could let that slide; but not allowing live data to be displayed while the vehicle is moving (which is usually when most symptoms actually happen) is a complete dealbreaker to me. As the title infers, this latest version was likely written by someone who has NEVER stepped inside an automotive shop or more likely, a sinister plan to force DIYers to take their vehicles to shops that have paid for the 4-5 figure “Professional” Bosch scan tools. If you bought the Bosch OBDI dongle then you should return it. I spent over $50 for this device. It worked for about 3 months and then it said an update must be installed on the dongle. I installed it and it bricked. The device would not connect by Bluetooth to my iPhone and the app rendering the app and the device useless! Waste of money! So upset about this! One just needs to understand how it works. Bottom line is that I have saved time and money with this app. It gives deep information like transmission temperature in order to know when to add fluid at the correct level on modern cars that do nit have a level dip stick. I like the app. Only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the plug in Sensor was more expensive than other sensors. But my iPhone X will not connect in the app. Bluetooth connected not registering in app. Please add support ### 4/5 — iPad *2017-12-20, version 1.2.7* When is the the app coming out for the iPad I love the Bosch 1050 because is portable but I also like to use my iPad and the iPhone iPad support is not big enough ### 3/5 — Use it daily *2018-08-21* Bought mine a while back , works well , phone died and I did a restore but couldn’t get my purchases back , went to check and now they are free and this fine BUT loosing the tool as soon as the car moves just KILLS ME , you have lost the graphing ability to check for intermittent issues when in motion , real downer. Plus someone stole my Caddy radio and took my fuel gauge with it , I was using this as a fuel gauge , now it’s a real pain. It’s always had a problem staying on a certain car , now it has to be unplugged every time you need to use it, on my car I have to stand on my head to find the plug. Please put it back where it works , it was so handy using it as an engine monitor underway . I miss my old working toolm ### 3/5 — It’s an ok unit. *2018-03-30* It gets the job done but doesn’t support ABS codes. There’s an option to add the feature but says my cars aren’t supported. I purchased the Bluedriver scan tool and it does everything the Bosch unit does and more for the same price.
