## What is Bosong?

No need to write much. Pick how you feel right now, and XIU the puppy welcomes it, gently.

Bosong is a mood diary where even a pause counts. XIU doesn't try to fix your feelings; XIU welcomes them. Check in with yourself, and later step back to look over what you felt: a small moment of self-care.

Log lightly
• Choose up to 5 of 24 feelings, star the main one, and pick mild, moderate or strong
• Mood color (optional): no word yet? Start with one of 12 colors, then add any feelings. It stays on your calendar and in Look back
• Mixed-feeling presets like "Bittersweet"
• Activities, a one-line note and a gratitude line only when you want
• Templates and question packs

Just rest
• On days with no energy to write, one tap on "Rest day" is enough
• Take a breather for 1, 3 or 5 minutes
• Rest days stay on your calendar too
• "Mind moments" (thank-yous, a 5-4-3-2-1 look-around, a walk, a stretch) and "Wrapping up" at night

Look back
• Each day’s main face on your calendar
• A year of feelings at a glance, one pixel per day
• Mood texture, a feelings wheel, top feelings, moods by activity and rest time
• A letter from XIU every Sunday night about your week, plus monthly and seasonal letters
• A period summary PDF for dates you choose
• Day flow, a mind dictionary with a word of the day, and XIU from a year ago today
• Search and star entries; share a mood card, a monthly poster or a year recap (your text stays out)

With XIU (all free)
• Collect 64 stickers and stick them on your entries
• Care for XIU: a pat, a daily snack, a blanket at night, outfits
• Decorate XIU’s room; XIU’s face on Home changes each day
• By default, reminders come quietly to your iPhone only

Your heart is yours
• Entries are stored on your device; logging, looking back and stats need no account
• Lock your diary with Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode, and cover the app in the app switcher
• Help card: when an entry contains some words used on very hard days, Bosong shows places where you can talk to someone. It happens only on your device and nothing is sent. Open the list anytime from Settings > Help
• Export and import your entries as JSON anytime
• "Recently deleted" keeps entries for 30 days
• No ads, no tracking

Make it yours
• Rename, regroup or hide feelings
• Reminders at the times you choose, and log or rest right from the notification. A Sunday letter reminder only if you want it
• Three free color themes, a choice of app icons, light and dark mode, 9 languages
• iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch; home, lock screen and StandBy widgets; Shortcuts and Focus
• Optionally save your entries to the Health app as State of Mind (iPhone and iPad, off by default; never reads from Health)

Bosong Plus (optional)
• Encrypted cloud backup: encrypted on your device first. With Advanced protection, not even XIUSoft can read it
• Sync: the same diary on all your devices
• PDF diary book: a month or a year of feelings, as a pretty book
You sign in with Apple or Google only when you turn on Plus.
Bosong Plus requires a subscription and is not available in some countries and regions. The free features work everywhere.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.0.3 — 2026-10-25

• 64 stickers now: a Feelings collection of 24 that fills in the first time you log each feeling, plus seasons, special days and holidays. Stickers you don’t have yet come with a gentle hint: XIU’s riddle
• The Sticker book is now an open notebook. Press and hold, then drag to move stickers around
• Stick a sticker on an entry. It shows on the entry card and in the calendar (and on your other devices with Plus sync)
• As your stickers add up, XIU hands you a small gift: a room prop, a share background or an app icon, all free
• Care for XIU: pet XIU on Home, give a snack once a day, and tuck XIU in with a blanket at night
• XIU’s room: place props you’ve received in five spots and pick an outfit (XIU wears it on Home and in widgets too). You can change the app icon here as well
• When you save an entry, XIU responds with a little gesture and a short reply that fit the feeling, and now and then suggests a little rest together
• My word book: words you open in the Mind dictionary gather here in order
• Home changes a little each day: XIU’s face, seasonal props and backgrounds, your recent stickers, and a nighttime Home
• Home shows one card at a time, and XIU talks a little less
• Reminders now ring only on iPhone by default. To get them on iPad too, turn them on in Settings
• New in the Rest tab: “A warm cup of tea”
• Log on Apple Watch and XIU sends a short reply

### 1.0.2 — 2026-10-21

• Mood color: when no word comes to mind, start by picking one of 12 colors. Adding feelings is up to you. Your color stays on the calendar and in Look back, and shows in widgets and on Apple Watch (Settings > Logging > Start with a color)
• An easier first entry: a “Log” label under the +, and for your first few entries XIU walks you through each step (skipping is fine)
• Make your own activity: choose “+ Add” at the end of the activity list, then pick a name and an icon
• Tags are now called activities, and they show a small icon and name instead of “#”
• Breathing now has gentle haptics that follow each breath (iPhone and Apple Watch; you can turn them off in Settings)
• Open-source licenses are now listed in Settings > Help & letters
• The lock description now matches your device (Face ID, Touch ID or passcode)
• Short pop-up messages stay a little longer when there’s more to read
• Entries in “Recently deleted” are now cleared on time after 30 days
• Small text in the Cream theme is easier to read
• On a wide iPad screen, XIU’s tip bubble now sits inside the sidebar
• Feeling names and titles no longer get cut off on Apple Watch
• Exports now include rest activities, the question of the day, your own activities and your own feelings, and importing keeps this device’s settings
• Plus: if you use Advanced protection and it was switched to Standard on another device, Bosong pauses backup and asks you first. Account deletion now explains things calmly when the connection is slow or drops

### 1.0.1 — 2026-10-15

• The intro is now a little chat, with XIU speaking one bubble at a time
• On the first page XIU asks your nickname and says hello (skipping is fine)
• After your first entry, XIU tucks a first page into your diary with a sticker
• Try one 10-second breathing moment while learning about rest
• The save screen and PDF diary cover show XIU with the feeling you chose
• One tap, anywhere: press and hold a face to add intensity and tags right away, a folded "one more tap" line stays on days you've already logged, and XIU shows you how to add a widget
• Three free color themes (cream, baby pink, night sky) and a choice of app icons. Widgets and Apple Watch follow the same colors
• Mind dictionary: all 24 feelings explained in XIU's own words, plus a word of the day on the Home tab
• Day flow: feelings logged through the day, shown from morning to night
• An emotion wheel in stats, three new widgets (this month's faces, word of the day, emotion wheel), and a Dock menu on Mac
• Search past entries, star the good days, and edit several entries at once from the calendar
• Deleted entries stay in Recently Deleted for 30 days
• Rest activities in the Rest tab: three lines of gratitude, a 5-4-3-2-1 look around, a mind-clearing walk, a 30-second stretch
• Night wind-down: at night, close the day with one feeling, one line and a one-minute breather
• Six one-line templates and "what I did for myself" chips in step two, plus question packs (relationships, work, self-care, seasons)
• Seven mood card templates, a monthly calendar poster, a year-in-feelings recap, and a XIU card to send a friend
• Want a heads-up when XIU's Sunday letter arrives? Turn it on only if you like (off by default). Reminder times now adapt a little to weekdays and weekends
• XIU from a year ago today, XIU's little daily news, and "N days with XIU", quietly on the Home tab
• A new "Where are my entries?" screen shows at a glance where everything is stored
• Night tone and dark mode are a bit cozier
