The game does have its glitches though, and still feels like a work in progress. Although in fairness, that also mirrors any release of Football Manager in the last 20 years. Other absurdities exist which are somewhat more annoying, in particular around club budgets; I’m yet to fathom why, if managing Liverpool, I can barely afford any transfer, and am routinely outbid for players by Everton, Sheffield Wednesday, Tranmere, and even Barnsley. The end of season winnings at the end of a successful season also seem quite detached from reality irrespective of who you’re managing (£1m for winning the PL?!). And I’m supposed to believe I can only attract enough fans to fill the stadium of a Premier League club to around 65% capacity. Ok. Still plenty of work to do I think, but it’s very promising… **Developer response:** Hi Neilus1, thanks so much for your review! This is indeed a work in progress as the game was just release a couple of weeks ago, still a lot to do. - On budgets, game is very rewarding financially if you are able to buy talent cheap and then develop it. Otherwise you might have problems renewing your old players. This is 1993, where team budgets and prizes were really low comparing to what is today! However, we do have a setting called Classic Mode that puts things a little bit more close, in terms of AI teams bidding requests, making it easier to sign players (AI clubs don't ask that much). It's under settings, Classic Mode. - I'll definitely check that 65% fill capacity on Anfield. Seems odd indeed. Takes me back to the days of the original but it fixes all the bugs and annoyances of back then. You can actually sign foreign players!!!! Anyone of a certain vintage will be taken back to a simpler time and this game is a brilliant time killer that also doesn’t drain battery. He's now judged against the chances he actually faced: stand on your head against a top attack and the rating says so; wave in soft shots from a blunt one and it says that too. Late substitutions no longer skip the penalty shoot-out. In a cup tie that went the distance, making a substitution in the dying minutes of extra time could dump you straight onto the result screen with the penalties already decided off-stage. The shoot-out now always plays out on screen, kick by kick, no matter how late you tinker. The Players Abroad list stops running out of defenders. Clubs shop the foreign list by position, and the end-of-season restock used to replace whoever left without minding what the list was short of — so after many seasons it could end up nearly all midfielders and attackers (one season-28 save was down to 14 defenders in 177). The restock now steers new arrivals into whichever positions the list is missing, and a lopsided list rebuilds its proper mix within a few seasons. No more managers called "New". A retired Brazilian great who goes by one name — a Romario, a Rivaldo — could pick up a bogus "New" first name when a club sacked him, and then turn up in the Manager Scores as NEW ROMARIO. After a run of congested weeks he now warns you which players are tiring and carrying a raised risk of injury — so you can rest them before they break down. • Every player's transfer history. Open a player's career screen and tap TRANSFERS to see every move he's made — the clubs, the fees, loans and free transfers — and jump straight to any club's squad. • Win bonuses, your way. Pledge a bonus for every game as before, or just for the next match — ideal for the big derby, with nothing left riding on the games after it. • Promising youngsters stay in the world. A well-rated player released at 22 now drops into non-league football instead of vanishing — keep an eye out and sign him yourself. • See whether a player improved over the summer. Ability is shown in half stars, and a good season rarely moves a whole half star on its own — so a youngster who really did get better could look exactly as he did last year. A small gold arrow now sits beside ABILITY on his page when the summer left him better than before, and a red one when age has started taking it back. A player who's reached his potential shows neither, however many games he plays — the answer to why he stopped improving. It shows on your own players and on anyone your scout has watched this season. Also in this update: • The league table now fits your phone in portrait, with full club names and no sideways scrolling. • The PRV button is back on the squad screen — your last match report is one tap away. • Squad and transfer fixes: the coach never fields a goalkeeper out of position; a club that says it would rather sell than loan a player now actually sells; and the overseas transfer market keeps a healthy spread of positions over a long career. • Attendance figures now count only the matches you play at your own ground. • A clear explanation — instead of a crash — when your browser won't allow saving, such as private/incognito windows or the browser built into another app. • A whole round of league fixtures can no longer be skipped when stepping back into the last-results screen from the hub. • European clubs are no longer coached as if they played non-league football — the backroom bonus meant for a coach working far below his level was being handed to every side in Europe, the biggest clubs most of all. • European clubs no longer come after your backroom staff; they have no wage bill or squad for a physio or scout to work on. • Starting a famous club in a lower division no longer keeps its old backroom staff — the coach, physio and scouts now match your new division, like everything else about the club.
