In the past month at least 60% of the time one of my zones do not come on using the schedule setting. Have to manually turn on. Also found that once you make a schedule it cannot be modified. For example at xmas had xmas lights tried to change lights to an everyday light and schedule kept going back to xmas lights. Had to creat another schedule. Now i have two zones not working at all. Shouldnt be this difficult. ### 4/5 — New system *2026-01-20* Bosso Lights app has been overall a great experience. Being able to apply schedules, do light selections, the nice presets, plus my wife likes the menus so she uses it. My only gripe is that my installer used two controllers for our property and I have to separately choose each controller and apply presets. Since the house is wired in left to right, it would be nice if they allowed virtual linking of the controllers as one whole unit. It would be great to be able to create FX instead of using the mediocre stuff that is available...oh and stop with the updates and videos you have to watch. Nobody wants to update their app every time they open it up or watch your videos. ### 2/5 — Watch an ad? *2025-11-29, version 3.0.5* I came home tonight and wanted to change my Christmas lights from Thanksgiving to Christmas. I had to watch literally 90 seconds of ads before it would let me control the lights that I’ve already purchased. Nope! ### 1/5 — Too many changes/updates to app *2025-11-26* Normally, updates are a good thing but not for this app. In the month I’ve had this app, they’ve made so many changes and updates that make trying to access your normal features way more difficult. For example, when all I want to do is turn on my permanent lighting, this company’s app forces you to watch multiple videos of new services they provide (and updates) that are irrelevant to me. Additionally, unlike how this app was when I first joined, since one of their updates, the app required me to have to login every time after I exited out of the app. What’s worse is that the app doesn’t even give you the option to automatically save your login info like most apps do. While my experiences with this app are short, it has not been a good experience and if I didn’t have to use this app then I absolutely would NOT! Stay away if you can find a suitable alternative. ### 4/5 — Fix the date selection *2025-11-13, version 3.0.1* New Bosso light owner and quite enjoying creating presets and schedules, but the schedule UI should not allow the End date to be less than the Start Date. C’mon guys, that is basic UI design! ### 3/5 — Communication *2025-11-11* I’ve been waiting to review the app for the last six weeks. This morning, an app update that included the ability to sync with music was presented in the 3.0 point one update it was gone. I’ve reached out three times to customer service via the app with no reply. I’m starting to question my purchase and the use of this app. ### 1/5 — Please Fix Update *2025-10-20, version 2.0.3* Update 2.0.3 has removed all the default scene settings from the app. Please get this corrected asap, I will update my review when fixed. Otherwise super satisfied with my lights and install overall, Thanks! ### 1/5 — Not working well *2025-09-29* I have been using this app for several months now and have had a variety of different issues. I try pre-resetting for a special holiday or a football game and the app just does not respond or turn on when it should or turn off when it should. I should be able to set all holidays for the entire year and it should automatically turn on for each one, but that is just not happening. I have to admit I’m getting a little frustrated with it and will be calling the company tomorrow. ### 1/5 — The app is horrible! *2025-09-14* What is going on with this app?!? Last night and tonight my ambient light schedule is instead red/white/blue flashing and there is no schedule for this set-up. So many reasons I can’t stand this app but this one is my final straw, here’s my comprehensive list: 1) WHY why why can’t this app save my username/password, this is such a basic app design feature I don’t understand. 2) my lightning company sold me on this app so that I could schedule out my holiday light schedule HOWEVER, there is no ability to set a favorite that runs on any day that doesn’t have another light schedule. What this means is that to pre-set your year you must set each window of dates between holidays as separate schedules. 3) overall app is a joke and no user design. 4) as I mentioned in the beginning yesterday my lights started running a rogue program I have not scheduled and I can’t see anything to indicate this within the app. I had to turn everything off. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Fake reviews *2026-07-15* Most of the positive reviews I see are fake. I put these lights on my house and it is having constant issues. The lights bleed washing the wall with mixed colors that looks ugly, and the app is horrible. The schedule doesn’t work and it keeps dropping the signal. I had to replace the lights twice already as some went bad and it’s so hard to get hold of the dealer who installed it. Even the dealer once said he regrets he installed Bosso lights and suggesting to move to the other system he now adopted due to many such complaints he received from other clients. I’ll never recommend this company to anyone even if they offer you hefty discounts which is nothing but their sales tactics. ### 1/5 — Forced ai *2026-06-28, version 4.0.5* App is terrible. We are becoming increasingly frustrated, as we were informed that someone would be out today to fix either issues with the app, lights or both, yet we received no notification that no one would be arriving. As a result, we spent the entire day at home waiting. We understand that unexpected issues can arise, but timely communication is essential. We have had these lights for approximately two months, and they have only functioned properly for about five weeks. Given the $3,200 investment, this situation is understandably difficult and disappointing. Please let us know how and when this will be addressed.
