I have disabled message notifications, muted the official BOTIM account, muted the Gold & Silver Investment account, and explicitly disabled article notifications. Despite all of this, BOTIM continues sending promotional push notifications advertising gold investments and other services. There is apparently no setting to opt out of these marketing notifications while keeping legitimate call notifications enabled. Users should not have to disable ALL notifications — potentially missing important calls — just to stop receiving advertisements. And putting an “ad-free” experience behind a paid subscription does not make aggressive, unavoidable push marketing acceptable. Give users a simple, separate toggle: Calls & messages: ON Marketing & promotions: OFF Until BOTIM provides a genuine opt-out for promotional push notifications, 1 star. ### 1/5 — Bad app *2026-08-22, version 4.15.1* Hello BOTIM Support, I recently opened a new BOTIM account, but I cannot find one of my contacts anymore. I used to chat with this person on BOTIM before, but now the contact is not showing up when I search or check my contacts. Please help me understand why I cannot find this contact and how I can add or contact them again. Thank you. ### 1/5 — Fix the speaker *2026-08-20, version 4.15.1* Be careful not to leave it on speaker phone. If you didn’t intend to have it on speaker when the other line answers-you’ll go deaf from how loud it can be. My ear drum is completely messed up. ### 1/5 — ⚠️ Serious warning about international transfers through BOTIM *2026-08-16* I strongly recommend being extremely careful before using BOTIM for international money transfers. In my experience, the way funds are processed through local payment/aggregation channels can create serious risks for the recipient. If a transaction is later associated with suspicious funds, the recipient’s bank account could potentially be placed under a lien or investigation, even when the recipient had no knowledge of the source of the funds. What concerns me most is that, when such issues arise, customers may be directed to approach authorities such as the Cyber Crime department or Crime Branch rather than receiving a clear resolution through the platform. If there is any possibility that funds could originate from fraudulent, illegal, terrorist-financing, or drug-related activity, the consequences for the recipient could be extremely serious. My advice: do your due diligence before using BOTIM for international transfers. Ask exactly which regulated financial institution processes your money, how the source of funds is verified, and what protection is provided to the recipient if a transaction is flagged. A platform being authorised or licensed does not mean every transaction is automatically risk-free. Like how does a calling app this big not have that. Anyway the new update finally added it so I tried it with my friend this afternoon not expecting much and it actually worked perfectly. No lag at all and the screen was clear, I could see everything fine. Honestly didn’t think the first version of it would be this smooth.
