## What is Bottles?

Bottles lets you easily manage your wine collection. Perfect for those of us that have a collection of wine. Allows you to rate the wines you open, so that you know which bottles you liked most when purchasing more wine.

There are no additional fees, no ads, and none of your data is shared.

Add your wine to the Bottles app, specifying the location you store each bottle. Use the app to view lists of your wine, pick a bottle to enjoy, see where it is located, and mark the bottle as opened. Later Bottles can remind you to rate that wine, helping in the future to pick your favorite wines, and helping you to purchase more of your favorites. Wines can be viewed by varietal, winery, vintage, favorites and more. List can be easily sorted and searched.

Since your wine data is stored in iCloud, you can safely access your collection from all your iPhones, iPads and Macs. Bottles may be used when not connected to the internet, and your changes will sync the next time you run Bottles with an internet connection.

Bottles supports light and dark mode, and your Text Size setting.

### 1/5 — Change not good

*2026-03-13*

I used this app for several years happily. They changed from local data to online data and it was fine. I didn’t use the app for a couple of weeks and when I went to open it up, my data was all screwed up, so I am over it.

### 1/5 — Data lost

*2025-11-06*

Apparently there was a recent update that I was not aware of. When I opened the app, I was advised of ”legacy” data to import. I ignored it not realising that it was to import my cellar data into a new version. Only had one chance, data lost. Can’t find what to do under support, no email link for help. Very annoyed!

### 5/5 — Elegantly Simple

*2018-03-28*

My spreadsheet was getting cumbersome. This lets me track the same information in a much more compact way; just what I needed.

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2017-02-18*

Excellent and easy to use. Makes managing a cellar much smoother and easier.

### 3/5 — Basic App

*2017-01-14*

It is an OK basic app for managing your cellar. I would love for it to have UPC label scanning ability to import your bottle data. Also, it doesn't always color code the bottles correctly and the color code can't be changed. E.g., it will appropriately color code a Zinfandel with a red label, but will color code an Old Vine Zinfandel with a beige label.

### 1/5 — Won't Sync

*2016-02-16*

Waste of money! Won't sync my iPad with iPhone. You have to email backups.

### 5/5 — Brilliance, balance and finish

*2015-11-12*

I have been looking for an app to manage my wine. I have tried a few others but this one just pulled me in. I started by entering a few wine bottles on my iPad just to see how it worked, and before I knew it I had entered all the wine in my cooler. The app learns the wineries and other bottle details and autocompletes the entries like magic. I like how the wine is displayed, how I can bring up lists of my wine by varietal, winery, etc. I usually try to find the oldest of whatever varietal I want to drink, and this app gives me the varietal sorted by year (oldest first). The lists are great, each bottle is displayed like a wine label, and not like a database. After using this app for a few months, I can honestly say that this app has made collecting and enjoying wine even more fun than before.

### 5/5 — Everything I was hoping it would be

*2015-09-26*

I just bought this app this morning and already have entered everything stored in my 48 bottle wine fridge. It was amazingly easy. The look-ups are a snap, and it appears to be working great.

It has nothing to do with the functionality, but I'm also really glad that the appearance is more sophisticated than some of the other apps that I considered. It's always nice to be treated like an adult.

### 5/5 — Love it

*2015-08-25*

Great way to keep track of all of my wine, and to be able to find things quickly
