His animation style is a God-given talent I love to admire. However, this one-of-a-kind comic has mistakenly been said to be compatable with my iPhone 3G. Instead, there are no zoom options so the words of the story are lost to me and the app crashes when I try to play an animated panel. I was looking forward to this and now I just want to cry. :( ### 1/5 — Naa not for me *2013-03-17, version 1.0.1* Text is hard to read. Images are distracting. Not easy on the eye. Stupid music, misleading sounds coming from everywhere, silly voices (why does one need dialogues read aloud?). It doesn't work, it doesn't make the story more exciting or involving. At least in this case. The whole 'animated graphic novel' concept needs more wisdom. Not everything is 'better' just because it's moving or making sound. Brilliant technique delivering thin, impoverished characters, and a plot which might support a moment's reflection, but not more. The voice actors' performances are simplistic and amateurish. I have no problem with the medium, per se; I think that things like "Maus" and "Persepolis" have established that there are no inherent limits to the expressive power of "comics." However, this has almost no message; it's puffed-up like a bubble. ### 2/5 — Bottom of the Ninth *2012-11-20, version 1.0.1* Very clever, but totally bewildering to a UK audience. Perhaps a more universal subject may have shown off the author's amazing talent. Its is also FAR TOO SHORT!. there simply isnt enough of what is really wonderful content to be worth the money. the story feels super-rushed, like it should have taken at least 3 times as many panels to get to the point it does. took me about 15 minutes to get from start to finish, listening to every speech bubble and watching every animation. $4 for 15 mins is pretty steep. too steep. I really *want* to rate this higher. I *want* to give it 5 stars for the fact that it really brings a comic to life. its beautiful. but you just dont get anywhere near enough of it for the money, and its really only worth reading/watching on an iPad. sorry. two stars it is. ### 3/5 — Um.. *2012-11-22, version 1.0.1* I'm not sure if I'm not doing it right, but I can't find the story. I know this first one is supposed to be a "prologue", but was there more to it than one page of panels and a description of all the player? Anyways, besides that, I think it is absolutely beautiful! Great music and artwork, I'm in awe. For iPhone users, yes the writing is small, but tap on the bubble to enlarge it! You also get to hear the voices.
